It seemed she also knew that Roger might need her on the night of the championship celebration.

Considering that Roger and the French model Laetitia hadn’t appeared in public together for a long time, Cindy Crawford thought she might be able to take her place.

How could a superstar not have a supermodel by his side?

It’s a timeless perfect pairing.

Roger was like Harden attending Rondo’s wedding in 2024, deliberately hiding in the last row, yet the bouquet still managed to hit him on the head.

Before he even asked for it, the phone number had made its way into his pocket.

Back on the bench, Shaq smirked, “Stay away from that woman, Dennis.

After Dennis Rodman learned his lesson with Madonna, he only dares to give Cindy an autograph, not daring to get close to her!

And she’s 9 years older than you, a 30-year-old woman is not easy to deal with.

Buddy, I don’t want you to lose 30 pounds over the off-season!

How about this, I’ll take a loss and you give me her phone number, I’ll get rid of this nuisance for you for free!”

Roger knocked on Shaq’s head, “We haven’t won the championship yet, Shaq.

Don’t think about those messy things.

First, play basketball clearly, then consider other ball sports.”

Shaq didn’t care and reached for the little note in Roger’s pocket.

But after searching for a long time, he found nothing, “Where’s the number?”

“I already had Old Joe take it back to the locker room for me, to avoid it being stolen by certain people.”

“You damn bastard, I’m not talking to you anymore, we’re through!”

For a moment, Roger felt like he was chatting with a grade school desk-mate.

Before the game started, the leading Shaq was all chuckles at 2-0.

But after the game started, Shaq quickly couldn’t laugh anymore.

The SuperSonics implemented a crazy “Hack-a-Shaq” strategy akin to that of the Bulls.

Players like Frank Brickowski, Earvin “Magic” Johnson, and Steve Scheffler, who only got single-digit minutes in the first two games, were all sent out by George Karl to foul Shaq and then immediately subbed out.

Their sole purpose was to commit fouls.

The “Hack-a-Shaq” strategy wasn’t supposed to become popular so early in the original history, but considering Magic’s soon-to-be consecutive championships, it was normal for this tactic to disrupt Magic’s rhythm to become trendy in advance.

Today, this strategy was especially effective.

Because of the fragmented rhythm and Payton’s still formidable defense, Roger temporarily lost his touch in the second quarter, shooting 1 for 5.

An impatient O’Neal, provoked by Reign Man’s trash talk, also picked up his fourth foul early in the start of the third quarter.

Reign Man simply wanted to take a mid-range shot, but an infuriated O’Neal tackled him with a move straight out of football.

It was a completely unnecessary foul.

Brian Hill had no choice but to sub out Shaq and gave him a good scolding.

By then, the SuperSonics felt they smelled a whiff of a comeback.

In the third quarter, without Shaq’s support, they could finally exert their full strength to strangle Roger!

As long as they could widen the gap in the third quarter, the SuperSonics would have a chance to recover a victory!

Brian Hill subbed out O’Neal, who had four fouls, for Michael Cage, but he made another substitution as well, removing Harper and replacing him with Saru.

Against the SuperSonics, the most important thing was for the other team members to convert passes forced by the stars into scores.

Now with O’Neal out, Saru was the best choice for this job.

Saru took to the court, fully aware of his responsibilities.

He would never let King disappoint.

The game resumed, and as soon as Roger got the ball, predictably, three SuperSonics players, including Payton, immediately double-teamed him.

Roger calmly jumped up, decisively finding Saru beyond the three-point line while in the air.

George Karl knew all too well about that frail European, immediately yelling, “We all know you’re a coward, you’ll just waste this opportunity!”

Swish!

Saru silenty made the three-pointer, turned around, and got back on defense.

If it had been before, he might not have been able to handle George Karl’s yelling.

But now, such things couldn’t harm him at all.

In the following possession, since Harper was subbed out, Payton thought he could take advantage of Saru, a soft target.

But after Payton crossed the halfway line, he found that it was Roger himself defending Payton!

Roger defended with utmost seriousness.

Most people could only concentrate on one end of the offense or defense, but today Roger was fully committed to both ends of the court.

He didn’t want to waste time, he couldn’t wait to claim his second championship, and this quarter might be the SuperSonics’ only chance in the whole series.

So, he seized that opportunity!

Payton called for a screen and executed a well-practiced pick-and-roll with Kemp.

After navigating around the screen, Payton charged straight into the paint—he was not the type who liked to take mid-range or long-distance shots.

Since Roger was already out of position, Payton was confident in his attack on the rim.

He drove into the lane, with Michael Cage blocked off, Payton soared high, ready to slam the ball into the hoop with one hand.

But the moment he powered up his arm, Payton saw Roger stretch out his hand from the side in front, his palm perfectly covering the hoop.

This was a showdown between a “poster dunk or block,” with no retreat for either player in midair!

Unfortunately, Payton’s height and momentum did not support him to finish the dunk over someone.

Roger swung his arm at the same time Payton attempted the slam, solidly swatting the basketball away!
