Chapter 446: Chapter 446 Certain Death

Qiao Rui had already returned home, everything was arranged properly, except that when she came back, her clothes were all stained with blood, which terrified Mrs. Feng.

"Young Madam, are you injured?"

Uncle Feng was also startled: "What happened? We should rush to the hospital."

"Mrs. Feng, Uncle Feng, I’m fine." Qiao Rui shook her head: "This isn’t blood, it’s fake blood."

"Fake?" Mrs. Feng’s eyes widened as she leaned in to sniff closely, "It really doesn’t smell like blood. What’s going on?"

"Just a setup." Qiao Rui smiled and said, "You don’t need to worry."

"Alright, as long as it’s okay!" Mrs. Feng and Uncle Feng felt much more at ease hearing that everything was fine.

"By the way, Mrs. Feng, Uncle Feng." Qiao Rui said, "If anyone asks at the door, just say I’m not back."

Uncle Feng was taken aback, nodding. "Yes, we’ll follow the young madam’s arrangements."

"Then I’ll go upstairs to take a shower and change clothes." Qiao Rui smiled and went upstairs.

Watching Qiao Rui go upstairs, Uncle Feng and Mrs. Feng exchanged glances.

Mrs. Feng still uncertainly asked Uncle Feng: "Is it really okay?"

"No problem." Uncle Feng nodded seriously. "I think the young madam is someone extraordinary; the news always talks about her skills, and I agree, she’s truly impressive. We should trust in her abilities."

"Hmm." Mrs. Feng also breathed a sigh of relief. "I’ll prepare some snacks, just in case they get hungry later."

"Go ahead." Uncle Feng said, "I’ll check outside to make sure no one’s followed."

"Yes, go ahead, since the young madam said so, there must be something going on."

The couple busied themselves with their tasks.

Outside, Uncle Feng saw Qiao Xiang; she was standing at the villa’s entrance, craning her neck to look inside.

Uncle Feng was surprised and approached, "Miss Qiao, what are you doing here so late at night?"

Seeing Uncle Feng, Qiao Xiang immediately smiled, "Oh, Uncle Feng, was that person I just saw Qiao Rui?"

Uncle Feng’s heart skipped a beat, "The madam didn’t come back, maybe Miss Qiao saw it wrong."

"How could I be mistaken, I clearly saw someone enter your house just now," Qiao Xiang said in a deep voice.

"Oh, that was my wife entering," Uncle Feng said. "What’s the matter?"

Qiao Xiang was stunned for a moment, feeling that Uncle Feng wasn’t telling the truth.

She had clearly seen a figure very much like Qiao Rui, yet the news said that Qiao Rui had a car accident and was taken to the hospital, with her life uncertain.

She almost thought she saw a ghost, that’s why she followed, but she didn’t expect Uncle Feng to say that.

What she saw couldn’t have been wrong, that figure was definitely not Mrs. Feng, who was much heavier.

"Uncle Feng, you saw the news, right?" Qiao Xiang added.

Uncle Feng hadn’t watched the evening news but had been keeping up with it these days, knowing about the ties with the Lin Family.

Earlier, the young madam had said it was a setup and instructed him not to say she returned, so he was on guard.

Since he knew about Qiao Xiang’s relationship with the Lin Family, he was naturally wary in his words.

"No, I haven’t." Uncle Feng chuckled, "What news is Miss Qiao referring to?"

"Qiao Rui had a car accident and is hospitalized," Qiao Xiang said, staring at Uncle Feng, her eyes sharp as she focused unblinkingly on his eyes under the streetlight.

Uncle Feng immediately feigned a shocked expression, becoming concerned, "Really? I haven’t seen that news; is our young madam alright?"

Seeing Uncle Feng’s expression like that, Qiao Xiang was quite surprised; it shouldn’t be like this.

It all felt very strange, yet she couldn’t pinpoint exactly what was odd about it.

"I don’t know either," Qiao Xiang shook her head. "So I came to ask if you had any information; calling her wasn’t getting through."

"I don’t know either; I’ll go contact someone immediately." Uncle Feng looked at her, quickly said, "Miss Qiao, please go home quickly, I’ll head back too."

After speaking, Uncle Feng returned inside, leaving Qiao Xiang standing at the entrance.

Back inside, he hid in the shadows to observe Qiao Xiang.

Qiao Xiang just stayed at the entrance without leaving, standing like a statue.

Uncle Feng was speechless, still not leaving?

He went back inside and asked Mrs. Feng to consult with Qiao Rui about what to do.

After Mrs. Feng knocked on the door, Qiao Rui came out. "Mrs. Feng, what’s the matter?"

"Young madam, Miss Qiao is at our doorstep and refuses to leave!" Mrs. Feng reported truthfully, "What should we do now?"

"Oh, her." Qiao Rui smiled. "She’s probably here to see if I’m dead or not."

"Pah! Pah! Pah!" Mrs. Feng hurriedly exclaimed, "Young madam, let’s not say such inauspicious things."

Qiao Rui smiled, not taking it to heart. "Mrs. Feng, tell her that I’m hospitalized with severe injuries; it’s best to say I’m hanging on by a thread."

Mrs. Feng wasn’t sure what Qiao Rui’s intentions were, but knowing Qiao Xiang was at the door, she felt something was off.

"Okay, I’ll go tell Old Feng immediately." Mrs. Feng hurried downstairs.

Receiving the instruction, Uncle Feng went to the door again, seeing Qiao Xiang still there.

He said to Qiao Xiang, "Miss Qiao, why are you still here?"

"Uncle Feng, did you get in touch with Qiao Rui?" Qiao Xiang asked, "I’m a bit worried about my sixth sister and wanted to ask about her condition."

"Our young madam is in the hospital; we don’t know her status yet. Miss Qiao, please go home, standing at our door at this hour doesn’t make sense," Uncle Feng said dismissively.

Qiao Xiang, hearing this, finally said, "I just wanted to know my sixth sister’s status, now that I do, I hope she’s safe."

After speaking, Qiao Xiang turned to leave, a sinister look in her eyes as she thought how irritating it was that even standing at the door wasn’t allowed.

Once back at her own home, she immediately burst into laughter in the vast living room, laughing maniacally.

On her exquisitely made-up face was a fierce expression, as she murmured to herself, "Qiao Rui, I curse you to die tonight."

The phone suddenly rang.

She picked up; it was her mother, Lin Hailan, calling.

"Qiao Xiang, did you see the news? Qiao Rui had a car accident, she’s likely to die, and I called your grandfather, who said she’s bound to die today."

"Mom, why did you call grandpa again?" Qiao Xiang immediately got angry and questioned, "Haven’t you been swindled by them enough?"

"I, I!" Lin Hailan stammered, "I called for money; now that your dad is detained, who knows how things will turn out, I wanted some money for backup."

"All the Lin Family’s accounts are frozen." Qiao Xiang said sternly, "What money are you expecting to get? You never learn."

"How would I know about this if I hadn’t called?" Lin Hailan retorted, "I think the car accident was your grandpa’s doing."

"Don’t just say things recklessly," Qiao Xiang reminded, "If Qiao Rui could die easily, we wouldn’t be in such a bad state."

"My understanding from your grandpa is, dead or not, she’s doomed," Lin Hailan said, "She indeed deserves to die."
