Chapter 339: Chapter 339: Seeking a Master to Learn Skills

"No need to call the police." Song Muyu’s attitude was firmly resolute: "Let them go. Pass a message to the Shi Family—if this happens again, Chen Haimin will be the example."

He Zheng was slightly startled, unable to understand. They were just attacked, and any misstep could have resulted in permanent injury, yet she did not want to pursue the matter.

But seeing Song Muyu’s unwavering stance, He Zheng realized she was serious—she genuinely didn’t want to involve the police.

Upon hearing this, Qi Yun immediately grew anxious. She turned to Song Muyu and said, "Miss Song, you don’t need to worry about me."

"This has nothing to do with you." Song Muyu said in a solemn tone, "I’m making this decision based on my own considerations."

After speaking, she glanced at Qiao Rui.

Qiao Rui understood. Clearly, Song Muyu’s main intention was to prevent the situation from escalating further, with the primary motivation being to protect Qi Yun.

It seemed that the Shi Family needed to experience some pressure.

Qiao Rui nodded slightly.

Song Muyu spoke again, "Qi Yun, that’s how it’s decided. Let them get out of here immediately."

"Got it!" Qi Yun nodded and turned to those people, yelling, "Get lost!"

Those people, realizing they wouldn’t be held accountable, quickly dispersed in a panic.

Qi Yun looked guilt-ridden, not even daring to meet the gazes of Qiao Rui and Song Muyu. She understood well that Miss Song had made this choice entirely to protect her.

She felt a bit regretful. When dealing with Chen Haimin that day, she should have been more discreet.

"Get in the car." Qiao Rui glanced at her. "Miss Song, take care. When you’re back in Qingcheng, be cautious too."

"Understood." Song Muyu smiled weakly, her face pale and frail. "Mr. He, Miss He, Miss Si, thank you for saving me today."

"No need for formalities." He Lan waved her hand, then looked at Song Muyu’s pale, weak demeanor and said kindly, "You look so bloodless—like a vampire. Don’t tell me you’re just scared?"

Song Muyu: "..."

"Can you speak properly?" He Zheng smacked He Lan on the back of her head. "Miss Song, I’ll help her into the car. Take care."

Song Muyu also nodded slightly. "Thank you, Mr. He."

He Zheng waved dismissively, unconcerned, as he pulled He Lan back to the car.

Si Ran gave a slight nod to Song Muyu. Before she could turn away, He Zheng suddenly wrapped an arm around her shoulder. "Let’s go, Si Ran."

Feeling his intimate gesture, Si Ran flushed but still said firmly, "I can walk on my own."

As she spoke, she tried to break free from He Zheng’s hold.

He Zheng smiled enigmatically. "Si Ran, the way you rushed over to save me earlier—so dazzling, such valiant grace! Truly unforgettable."

Si Ran’s face instantly reddened further. She forcefully broke free of He Zheng’s large hand and said, "President He, the way you were nearly knocked flat doesn’t quite prove you’re much of a man."

He Zheng: "..."

He Lan burst out laughing, "Brother, what about me? The way I rushed in to save you guys—wasn’t that also valiant and graceful?"

"Your blindly charging in made you look like a complete fool." He Zheng retorted grumpily.

He Lan immediately fell speechless. "Why do you praise Sister Si Ran but insult me?"

"Because you’re a fool!" He Zheng replied bluntly.

He Lan refused to take this lying down and pinched a chunk of flesh on He Zheng’s arm, twisting it hard enough to make him grimace in pain—the expression he made, comical beyond words.

"Sister Si Ran was right," He Lan snorted lightly, "You’re not only unmanly, but also petty."

He Zheng was left speechless. "Enough! Shut up!"

He Lan stomped her foot and climbed into the car first.

He Zheng turned to look at Si Ran, speaking pitifully, "Si Ran, that little brat really hurt me—help me out by blowing on it."

Seeing his ridiculous expression, Si Ran curtly responded, "Serves you right."

"Si Ran, I really got injured here—a punch, and a kick too. It hurts a lot. Could you support me a bit?" He Zheng continued pleading miserably, "Are you really not going to care about me?"

"Just now you looked like you were having a great time chatting—I didn’t see you showing any pain," Si Ran said irritably.

"I had to put up a front, didn’t I? Otherwise, you’d all tease me for not being manly again." He Zheng muttered softly, "Pretending is hard work too."

Si Ran paid him no attention.

Suddenly, He Zheng let out a howl and refused to move.

Not hearing any movement behind her, Si Ran turned her head only to see He Zheng gasping for air back there.

She paused for a moment before walking back and asked, "You’re really hurt?"

"Yes!" He Zheng nodded pitifully. "I’m hurt pretty badly."

Having seen him get hit on the spot earlier, Si Ran thought the injuries shouldn’t have been too severe. But looking at his furrowed expression now, it did seem a bit serious.

She hesitated for a moment before offering, "Alright, I’ll support you a little."

"Great!" He Zheng broke into a grin almost instantly.

Seeing his expression, Si Ran’s face darkened immediately. She said coldly, "I doubt there’s anything wrong with you—walk by yourself!"

With that, Si Ran turned and left.

He Zheng called out pitifully from behind, "Don’t you have any compassion? I was genuinely in pain just now!"

"How about you just keeled over completely?" Si Ran snapped back irritably.

He Zheng stared at her retreating figure, speechless. "Si Ran, you’re so heartless! Truly living up to that saying—a woman’s heart is like a needle at the bottom of the ocean, impossible to grasp!"

Si Ran ignored him entirely and got into the car.

He Zheng had no choice but to stop his antics and turned to look at Qiao Rui. Seeing her still talking with Song Muyu, he called out, "Sister-in-law, time to go!"

Qiao Rui was slightly startled and answered, "Coming!"

She gave Song Muyu a long look and said softly, "Take care of yourself."

"I will." Song Muyu nodded. "You should get in the car. They’re all waiting for you!"

Only then did Qiao Rui head toward He Zheng.

"Sister-in-law, you seem very concerned for this Miss Song," He Zheng glanced at Qiao Rui and asked, smiling.

Qiao Rui froze. She hadn’t expected He Zheng to be so perceptive—perhaps her behavior had been too overt.

As they say, concern makes one irrational.

"Just seeing Miss Song’s pale complexion, I felt an instant connection," Qiao Rui explained lightly, "It’s not that much concern."

"Sister-in-law has impressive skills," He Zheng gave Qiao Rui an appraising look. "Did you train under someone?"

"No," Qiao Rui replied calmly.

"Then where did your excellent skills come from?"

"Oh, growing up in the countryside, hiking mountain trails often made me nimble," Qiao Rui replied. "Doing farm work regularly made me strong."

He Zheng felt her explanation was overly perfunctory.

"Sister-in-law, that knife-throwing technique of yours isn’t something learned from farming," He Zheng persisted.

Qiao Rui replied nonchalantly, "Well, there were lots of flies when I was young, so I practiced swatting them often. Over time, I got precise."

He Zheng: "....."

He still thought she was being dismissive.

This explanation was full of loopholes—who uses a knife to kill flies?

He Zheng chuckled softly, giving Qiao Rui a knowing glance. There was something about her—this enigmatic Qiao Liu seemed to harbor numerous secrets.

"That’s new to me," He Zheng commented with a chuckle, "Sister-in-law’s background is truly surprising."

"You’ll get used to it," Qiao Rui quipped back. "Mr. He, as a man, don’t be overly curious—remain steady. Secretary Si prefers steady men."

He Zheng froze, utterly perplexed, gaping at Qiao Rui, "Sister-in-law, what do you mean by that?"

Qiao Rui smiled wryly at him. "Mr. He, what do you think I mean?"

He Zheng stared at Qiao Rui’s enigmatic expression, stunned. He chuckled nervously, "Sister-in-law is right. Si Ran likes steady men—you know her well."

"Of course, I know Si Ran better than you do," Qiao Rui said with a mischievous smile. "Want to know what Si Ran thinks of you?"
