Chapter 265: Chapter 265: Divine Assistance

Qiao Rui’s words stunned everyone. It felt like she was joking, yet she was dead serious, which left everyone unable to discern whether she was telling the truth.

He Lan was curious; she squatted on the ground, tilting her head to look at Qiao Rui, "You aren’t knowledgeable in medicine, are you?"

"Just a little bit," Qiao Rui said modestly.

"Alright then, go ahead," He Lan nodded vigorously. "We’re at the point where we have to treat a dead horse as if it’s alive."

Si Ran also squatted on the ground, the three girls all surrounding Qiao Xiang.

Pei Liyan and He Zheng stood there, their expressions starkly different.

He Zheng seemed to have something to say but stopped himself.

Pei Liyan remained silent, his cold demeanor revealing no emotion.

Fang Mo, lacking any instructions, dared not move.

At that moment, Lu Heming had no choice but to speak up, "President Lu, the medical staff on my side will be here soon."

Pei Liyan gave a slight nod.

However, He Lan said, "We can’t wait, come on, do it!"

Seeing He Lan’s anxious demeanor, Qiao Rui paused then said, "Right away, Si Ran, He Lan, the two of you help me hold her hands!"

"Okay, don’t worry," He Lan nodded seriously. "I’ll hold Sister Xiang down hard, ensuring she doesn’t have any reactive response just in case the pain causes her to struggle or kick out at us."

Qiao Rui almost couldn’t help but laugh.

She knew well that Qiao Xiang wasn’t truly unconscious; she was probably a bit overwhelmed by anger, but not to the point of fainting.

It was just that He Lan’s words were spot on, whether intentional or natural.

At any rate, her words made the pupils under Qiao Xiang’s eyelids involuntarily roll.

While speaking, He Lan had already firmly pressed down on Qiao Xiang.

Si Ran grabbed the other hand.

And there they were, all workplace experts, witnessing this scene.

Qiao Rui took an alcohol-soaked toothpick, aimed at Qiao Xiang’s index finger, and quickly and accurately pricked it.

The toothpick went deep into the flesh of the finger, deeper than expected, and blood immediately started to ooze.

Indeed, the pain made Qiao Xiang flinch, her eyebrows furrowed, and she let out an uncontrollable cry of pain, "Ah!"

"Hey, that’s right, that’s right!" He Lan shouted, "Qiao Rui, it’s really working, hurry with the pricking!"

"Is that so?" Qiao Rui glanced at Qiao Xiang.

Although she flinched and frowned, she insisted on remaining unconscious.

"Yes, it’s obvious, it’s working!" He Lan nodded, interjecting, "Hurry and continue, prick deeper."

Qiao Rui almost laughed; He Lan was completely playing the role of divine assistance.

Qiao Xiang was truly doomed.

She and He Lan had come together because this kidnapping turned He Lan against her, and now it really was a double loss.

Si Ran was taken aback by He Lan’s attitude, instinctively glancing at He Lan.

He Lan turned to Si Ran, "Don’t look at me, hurry up and hold her down, let Qiao Rui continue pricking."

Si Ran had not expected He Lan to act like this, it felt almost selfish and vengeful.

Weren’t the two of them on good terms? Hmm.

Qiao Rui pricked another of Qiao Xiang’s fingers.

"Ah!"

This time, Qiao Xiang couldn’t hold back and screamed.

The two toothpicks were inserted in Qiao Xiang’s index and middle fingers, the beads of blood at the insertion points glaring red.

But, none of the three girls retreated; He Lan and Si Ran still pressed down on Qiao Xiang.

"Pain!" Qiao Xiang cried out, her eyes now wide open.

"Big sister, you’ve woken up?" Qiao Rui looked at Qiao Xiang, "The pain is correct, if it didn’t hurt, you wouldn’t have woken up."

Qiao Xiang looked at Qiao Rui with fiery eyes.

Yet Qiao Rui appeared very concerned about her, leaving Qiao Xiang with no way to vent her frustration.

Now, Qiao Xiang truly had a bitter story she couldn’t express.

He Lan asked, "Sister Xiang, how do you feel?"

"What happened to me just now?" Qiao Xiang bit her molars, pretending to have just woken up with no clarity.

"You fainted," He Lan said. "We were all very worried about you. Qiao Rui was administering aid, Si Ran and I were helping, and President Lu had already called the doctor."

He Lan and Si Ran took the opportunity to let go of Qiao Xiang’s hand.

She lifted her hand and saw two toothpicks inserted into her flesh, then bit her molars again, "Is this what you call administering aid?"

"Yes, it won’t wake you up if it doesn’t hurt!" He Lan naturally continued, answering for Qiao Rui, "Otherwise, we would have had to prick your philtrum, which would have disfigured your face. Qiao Rui was very considerate; pricking your hand is a permanent solution!"

A permanent solution could be used like this.

Qiao Rui glanced at He Lan.

She seriously smiled at Qiao Rui, "Qiao Rui, you really know medicine. Sister Xiang woke up just by pricking two fingers."

Qiao Xiang sharply exclaimed, "Isn’t pricking two fingers enough? Do you want to prick all ten fingers?"

Before Qiao Rui could reply, He Lan quickly interjected, "Yes, yes, Sister Xiang, how did you guess so accurately? We were indeed planning to prick all ten of your fingers."

The rage in Qiao Xiang’s eyes flared, but she was unable to lash out.

She looked up to see Pei Liyan and He Zheng, Fang Mo, and Lu Heming standing not far in front of her. All four men were simply standing there, allowing them to prick her.

It was then that Qiao Xiang realized he truly didn’t care about her!

No matter how she was treated, he remained indifferent.

Now, she was being treated like a prank by Qiao Rui, and he still didn’t intervene.

Her resentment towards him deepened.

Qiao Rui saw her gazing mournfully at Pei Liyan and started, "Big sister, I’ll pull out the toothpicks."

After speaking, without waiting for her reaction, she directly pulled out the toothpicks, causing blood to flow down the scented fingers.

The pain made Qiao Xiang sharply inhale a breath of cold air, sweat appearing on her forehead.

It was too painful.

So painful that she wanted to scream, wanted to curse loudly.

She would definitely remember, this humiliation; one day, she would pay it back in full.

Qiao Rui didn’t hold back either, treating today as a lesson for her, a price she should pay for recklessly harming others.

"Qiao Xiang, how do you feel now?" He Zheng asked.

Qiao Xiang looked at him, saying, "I won’t die!"

He Zheng was momentarily stunned.

Qiao Xiang lowered her head.

Then, the private room door opened.

A paramedic walked in.

Lu Heming quickly ordered, "Come take a look!"

The doctor hurried over to Qiao Xiang and crouched down to examine her.

He first measured her blood pressure and pulse.

A minute later, the results came out.

Qiao Rui glanced at them; her blood pressure was normal, her pulse slightly fast.

The doctor said, "Looking at the blood pressure and pulse alone, there’s no major issue, the pulse is just a bit fast, probably because of the pain from the finger injury."

"I want to go to the hospital," Qiao Xiang suddenly said.

The doctor looked at her and responded, "Miss, your speech is strong and doesn’t seem to have major issues, but if you’re not at ease, it’s good to check at a hospital."

Hearing the doctor, He Lan said, "That’s good, get checked at the hospital, then go directly to the police station to explain what happened."

Qiao Xiang’s face looked even worse.

"I’m not going, President Pei, let’s talk separately!"

Everyone was stunned at this.

Pei Liyan frowned, still standing there, his suit perfectly tailored, wrapping his tall figure, a majestic and solitary presence that commanded respect.

He said, "I’m not interested."

Hearing this, Qiao Xiang coldly laughed, her eyes languidly admiring the cool demeanor of Pei Liyan, then suddenly uttered a series of numbers.

It was a phone number!
