Chapter 241: Chapter 241 Disappointment and Regret

Qiao Rui had not expected Pei Liyan to be so ungentlemanly. The atmosphere had started off well, but later there was no atmosphere at all.

She gradually noticed the man’s mood. He seemed unhappy.

Was it because he thought she wasn’t a virgin?

Qiao Rui was stunned for a moment, feeling that this could be possible.

Otherwise, the atmosphere was fine before it suddenly became overwhelmingly intense, making it unbearable.

Qiao Rui was in a daze, only to be sharply brought back to reality by the man.

The next second, with a grim expression, Pei Liyan asked, "Who are you thinking about?"

Qiao Rui was taken aback, her eyes meeting the man’s.

Pei Liyan’s piercing gaze was extremely sharp, devoid of any tenderness.

Qiao Rui frowned slightly, feeling disoriented, thinking that this man was indeed unpredictable.

What right did he have to be angry, at least theoretically, he wasn’t completely innocent either.

Although Qiao Rui knew what was going on, seeing the man’s reaction was still disappointing.

She replied softly, "Who do you think I could be thinking about?"

The man’s pupils constricted sharply, and in a surge of impulse, he bent down and fiercely kissed her lips.

It wasn’t a kiss; it was more of a bite.

Qiao Rui felt pain, her long eyelashes trembling slightly, yet she made no move, not even resisting, just standing there like a puppet, completely ignoring the man’s irrational behavior.

Pei Liyan felt her silent protest, his back stiffened, and his brows furrowed.

He bowed his head and scrutinized her delicate face, always feeling her expression was like wearing a mask, elusive.

And her eyes, familiar yet strange, seemed like he had seen them somewhere before. Whenever they met his gaze, he couldn’t help but feel dazed.

Realizing this emotional state, Pei Liyan grew annoyed.

Then, he bowed his head again, not allowing her to retreat, blocking her lips with his own. His actions were forceful, fierce, sparing her no opportunity.

The intimacy was mixed with a punishing dominance and sharpness; he pushed his breath into Qiao Rui, stealing away her breath entirely.

Qiao Rui felt dizzy, suffocated, unable to think, her consciousness completely overwhelmed.

The man was not gentle at all, just as fierce.

"Pei Liyan, you are sick!" Qiao Rui got a chance and immediately cursed.

She hadn’t expected their intimacy to be like this.

Pei Liyan snorted coldly, "Yes, I am sick!"

He must be sick.

He knew when she had given her first time to someone else, he went mad, completely losing his rationality.

Now, he almost wanted to shred her, to let her know how angry he was.

With a fierce air of punishment, he forced Qiao Rui to resist him eventually, and the two wrestled together.

The more Qiao Rui struggled, the harder Pei Liyan pressed.

The man’s strength was superior.

In the end, their struggle and resistance were overcome by passion and desire.

Until later, Pei Liyan complained hoarsely in her ear, "Why?"

Qiao Rui was stunned and unexpectedly heard disappointment and regret in his tone.

She remained silent.

Silence sometimes equates to consent.

Qiao Rui’s silence led to Pei Liyan’s complete disappointment.

He could no longer control himself and began to torment her.

Qiao Rui felt both miserable and tormented.

She didn’t know how long it took, but when Qiao Rui opened her eyes, it was already dark.

The previous memories surged into her mind, she realized where she was, and instinctively looked beside her.

No one was there.

Pei Liyan wasn’t in the suite.

She sat up in bed suddenly, her entire body sore. Although she had prior experiences with Pei Liyan, she still couldn’t withstand the man’s storm-like devastation.

Right now, she felt utterly wretched, like flowers strewn by a heavy rain.

Getting out of bed, she stepped onto the carpet with bare feet and confirmed that the room was empty.

She wrapped herself in a bathrobe and went out, only to find Si Ran sitting on the sofa.

As she heard the door, Si Ran stood up and turned towards Qiao Rui.

Seeing her barefoot, with her hair disheveled and her lips swollen, Si Ran understood immediately—President Pei and his wife were showing affection this afternoon!

It was only a moment, but what puzzled Si Ran was that President Pei had just left.

With a cold expression, and not knowing exactly what had happened, he seemed very unhappy but only instructed her to stay here and said nothing else.

Seeing Qiao Rui’s condition now, Si Ran dared not show any reaction and could only say softly, "Madam, are you awake?"

"Where’s Pei Liyan?" Qiao Rui asked.

"President Pei had some business to attend to and left, instructing me to take care of you," Si Ran said.

Qiao Rui was taken aback. She was a clever woman and could read between the lines in his speech.

"I see," Qiao Rui responded faintly and turned back to her room.

"Madam!" Si Ran was a bit worried about her. "Are you alright?"

"I’m fine," Qiao Rui said indifferently.

Si Ran was even more worried. Although he didn’t know what had happened, the sequence of events—presidential marital affection followed by a sudden departure, and the lady’s inquiries—spoke volumes.

Despite her concern for Qiao Rui, Si Ran didn’t know how to comfort her.

Approximately guessing Si Ran’s thoughts, Qiao Rui paused then asked again, "Si Ran, did Pei Liyan say when he would return?"

"No, he didn’t," Si Ran said. "He should be back tonight though."

Qiao Rui nodded, her cool, soft voice sounding again, "Alright, I understand."

She entered her room, closed the door, took a shower, and changed her clothes before coming out again.

Si Ran was stunned; he thought Qiao Rui wouldn’t come out again, but she emerged refreshed, looking much better than before.

"Madam, are you hungry?" Si Ran immediately asked.

"Is there anything good to eat?" Qiao Rui asked.

"We can order room service, whatever you want to eat anytime," Si Ran said.

"Let’s just go to the restaurant. It’s troublesome here," Qiao Rui said.

Si Ran nodded. "Alright Madam, shall we go down now?"

"Yes."

The two left the room together and went to dine at Ludao’s restaurant.

At this moment, Pei Liyan was sitting inside one of Ludao’s most luxurious private rooms, drinking with He Zheng.

Lu Heming was also there.

"President Pei, regarding the surveillance issue you had me look into, I checked it, and we lost the signal twice, each time the image froze for three minutes."

Pei Liyan, holding a wine glass, his slender fingers clasping the stem, swirled it slightly.

He Zheng frowned, "Why are you looking into this?"

Pei Liyan looked up at him, his gaze deep. "There’s certainly a reason!"

"Then just tell me what your intention is!" He Zheng was too tired to speculate. "Tell me, what’s the situation?"

Pei Liyan thought of how Qiao Rui jumped in from the window, so agile, just as if she were on flat ground.

She was mysterious and quite detestable.

Who did she give herself to the first time?

"No suspicious characters," Lu Heming analyzed. "But the unexplained freezing, that’s the problem—it means we were hacked!"

"Look into it!" He Zheng said.

"I’ve already instructed them to do so," Lu Heming said.

He Zheng nodded, then suddenly asked Pei Liyan. "By the way, I seemed to hear a lot of noise from your suite today. What exactly was going on?"
