"It’s in the KODA council’s secret room. And the four of you, Benjamin, Ralph Isla, Lupe Elijah, and you, are the guardians of the crystal." I responded.

"Conri?" Elder Zaya pressed on.

"Why are you intent on pushing me?" Conri snapped.

"You have taken too long to accept your fate. After the attack in the forest meadow, I have decided not to hold back anymore. "Elder Zaya snapped.

"Godmother, I never asked for this. I would rather spend my days with Lucian, living away from the Golden pack. "Conri huffed.

"The power of the Adora is diminishing. Of the four elders, I am the only one that connects the crystal to my heart." Elder Zaya Let on.

Conri gasped and stood up. "Why?"

"After Odwolf Freki died, Adora chose me. "Elder Zaya confessed.

"Why is the power of the Adora diminishing?" I spoke up.

"The rightful owner of the Adora power refuses to accept his fate. " Her eyes blazed at Conri.

"Godmother, you know after Ralph took me to the crystal room, everything in the pack changed. The whispers drove Alpha Lobo crazy, and Lupe ended up dead. I don’t want a repeat of history. Then I was not mated, but now I have a mate to protect." Conri pointed out.

"You are mated?" Elder Zaya yelled happily.

"Yes," I boasted. "I seduced him

"Have you no shame?" Conri asked me, while his face and neck turned red.

"No," I chuckled. "It’s only a matter of time before everyone realizes we are mates. "

"You are always extra lil pup," Conri retorted.

"He is good for you. You have been holding back for a long time, "Elder Zaya complained.

"I am not weak, "Conri asserted.

"That I know. But your heart is pure and kind. And that makes you a good leader," Elder Zaya praised Conri.

"Not this again," Conri urged.

"You need to take over the Golden pack. The wolves are suffering. The full moon will be visible in two weeks. By then, Alpha Lobo’s power is the strongest. He will have a power of control and the wolves who are the weakest will suffer under his hands. "

"Two weeks?" Conri whispered.

"Is that the reason that you never let on that you could shift when we were attacked in the meadow? If Alpha Lobo got wind that you could shift without the call of the moon, he would have gone ballistic, right? You feigned innocence, and he was comforted. I was lost in thoughts after her words and never realized she moved to sit next to me.

"Lucian, what is bothering you?" She demanded.

"The many rogue wolves. Has Alpha Lobo been breeding the wolves so that when the new moon comes, he attacks?" I voiced my thoughts.

"That could be it. Since the attack, I sent out spy wolves to the Cinnabar mines. I want to know what Alpha Lobo is up to."

"I have also asked Zeeb to check the land that Conri owns that is next to the Cinnabar mines. I suspect Lobo dug an underground tunnel, and he has been mining in Coris’ lands. " I narrated.

"That could be true. Three years after the exile, Lobo came across enormous sums of money. He used his private ships to get goods out of Alaska. Does this mean he is shipping gold out of the country illegally?" She asked.

"I have this hunch that whatever we find will be connected to Conri. Anisha needs to speed up the asset transfer so that I can have the power to look into it without question. I know Lobo will do everything to delay the asset transfer, " I seethed.

"Child, "Elder Zaya pulled my hand in hers. " Are you mated ?’

"Yes, Godmother." I blushed and laughed happily.

"That’s good" She had tears in her eyes.

"Conri is my mate. My wolf recognized him the first day I met him. "I confessed.

"That day you made me so happy. I saw hope and now all we need to have this stubborn child of mine take over the pack," Elder Zaya emphasized.

"It will not be easy. But I know you have a laid-out plan. How many wolves are under you?" my eyes twinkled and Elder Zaya chuckled.

"The wolves are not under me. They all have pledged loyalty to Conri. All two thousand wolves are ready for Conri to become Alpha. " She explained.

"What?" I gasped.

"I went all out, "She burst out laughing.

"How did you-" My jaw dropped.

"Years and years," she giggled like a young lady

"What happens when Conri goes to the Adora Crystal room? "I leaned near her and whispered.

"The crystal will recognize his wolf and he becomes the guardian of the Adora Crystal. It will merge all the power and magic with his wolf. He will be the most powerful alpha in Alaska. "She whispered and winked at me.

"Wow," I whispered back to her.

"What are you two plotting?" Conri stood in the doorway of the living room, looking fierce, but his hair was let loose, dropping over his shoulders. I could never get used to his handsome face.

"Just sharing heart-to-heart feelings with my child "Elder Zaya leaned back in the chair and laughed.

"You went for a run," I observed while I stood up and walked over to him. His eyes blazed at me with anger and I Ignored it. I laced my hand on his arm and pulled him into the living room.

"I can see that you are still angry. I will leave the two of you alone for now. Tomorrow evening, I will come to the Koda council. It’s time you accessed the Koda council. I will not accept a negative answer from you that is unless you want me dead!!!
