My rut went on for three consecutive days with Lucian having peace when he needed to sleep. At those times, I took the opportunity to rest as well or cook for Lucian as I ordered the food from Benjamin or as much as my sore body and the alpha’s pheromone-infused cabin would allow.

"Mmmmh" I nodded and sat in silence. Once I was done, Lucian picked up the tray and placed it on the table by the bed and his eyes pierced at me. " What is it ?"

" Conri, what happened before you came to the mountains? " He asked.

" I went to deal with the traitors at the KODA council Jail. The people from old Man Benjamin’s pub, some from Due Corporation, and the others from the Chugach prison. All these people were involved in your kidnapping. "

" What do you mean?" Lucian sat up on the bed and moved closer to me.

" Judy confessed and it led to a trail of people who sold out to Enid and Chaka. Anyway, Commander Abram and Hunter will take care of them. " I assured Lucian.

" Why did you run away Conri ?" Lucian demanded.

" I needed to shift and run. Dolf led me here and that is when I realized he had geared me away from you. He knew the Rut had hit and wanted to ensure that you were safe from the brutality of the rut. He was being protective" I explained.

" There is nothing brutal about your rut, " Lucian smirked.

" The safety of the pups is paramount. " I asserted.

" I understand that. But you are my mate. " Lucian emphasized and even got on my lap and placed his hands around my neck.

" Lil pup, are you okay " I whispered and my eyes were glued to his as I listened to the heartbeat of the pups.

" Yes " he rasped and leaned down to press his mouth with mine.

" Do you want to go back or spend the night ?" I whispered as I pulled him closer.

" Spend the night. " Lucian responded as he rubbed his nose on my neck.

" Okay. Let me go for a run" I smiled warmly at him.

Half an hour later, I was in the Freki mountains as Dolf moved with speed, listening in to the river that flowed in the mountains and the wind that picked up as we got to the glaciers on the east side of the mountain.

" You underestimated our mate " I scolded Dolf.

" I know. Even Freki is annoyed at me, " Dolf responded.

" When were you going to tell me the news? " I heard Tizheruk push through our mind.

" You nosy brat. How did you find out ?" I demanded.

" The heartbeats of the pups are connected to the two of you " He snapped" At first I thought I was going crazy but Meglado was able to clarify that it was coming from your mind link"

" Lucian is pregnant. Five pups" I responded.

" Congratulations Conri Dolf. I am happy for you. The king of wolf pups will bring changes to the shifter families. " Tizheruk voice rose.

" Don’t tell anyone. You are the first to know. Lucian is not ready to have the news shared " I emphasized.

" I have to tell Hiada. I can’t keep secrets from my mate " Tizheruk responded and closed the mind link.

" Stubborn man " I cursed out.

By the time I came back to the cabin in the woods, Lucian was seated by the patio and his eyes lit up when he spotted Dolf. I rushed over, shifted into human form, picked him up, and swung him around " Did you miss me ?"

" Yes, I missed you, Husband. " He laughed.

The scent of roasted meat and sausages hit my nostrils as I walked into the cabin with Lucian in my arms and spotted the little table he set up with the plates and bowls of food at the center. I placed him down gently and chuckled " This reminded me of the first time that barged into the cabin"

" The sight of you turned me on" Lucian smiled.

" You were shameless and I did not know what to do with you " I sat down and pulled Lucian down on his lap.

Lucian served the food on the plate and we fed each other with love, cleaned up the table, and did the dishes thereafter. We retired by the back door patio and Lucian climbed on my lap and sat watching the moon and the mountain view.

" I am so happy to be here with Conri, " Lucian whispered. " To have your pups is a blessing from the moon god"

" We need to announce it to the pack " I whispered " Tizheruk already knows. He sensed the pup’s heartbeats and Meglado was the one that was clarified about the pup"

" That Tizheruk is so nosy " Lucian snapped.

" He was bound to find out " I tried to explain and reason with Lucian.

" Fine. But I need us to tell Luka and Elder Zaya first." Lucian stated.

" That is in order. I will take you to see Godmother. " I nodded.

" We would better invite them for dinner with Mrs. Hemming and Elanor. " I added. " Our family had grown and now we have Mrs. Hemming who keeps Godmother company and the two of them cannot be separated."

" I understand Husband, " Lucian nodded and then I listened in as he fell asleep. Little snores came from his mouth and I peeked at how handsome he was. I stood up with Lucian in my arms and walked to the bedroom. The bed dipped as I lay on it and pulled Lucian close and we fell asleep.

It was late afternoon the next day when we went down the mountain and into the Freki Resort Mansion. The place was so quiet and the maids told us that Luke had gone to Godmother’s house. An hour later, Anisha arrived with documents that needed to be signed for the office and found Lucian and me enjoying a quiet time in the living room.

" Brother, do you want to hand over the company to me? " Anisha scolded Lucian. " You disappeared for five days and the company is at a standstill"

" That is an excellent Idea. I will remain the Chairman and you will become the CEO " Lucian responded and Anisha’s eyes widened in shock.

She raised her hands in defense and uttered " I was kidding Lucian. Do you understand jokes?

" I wasn’t. Lucian affirmed " I will send an email to Toten for the confirmation of your appointment. You know the company best and as my sister, you will make the best CEO."

" Why ?" Anisha’s eyes bore Lucian in question.

" Because Lucian and I are going on a long holiday. We plan to spend time together" I said.

" How long ?" Anisha demanded.

" One year, " I responded.

" What? One year " She chuckled. " Why does it sound like you are going to give birth secretly ?"

" Stop your nonsense and give me the documents " Lucian responded dismissively. He signed the contracts one by one as Anisha explained about each contract. Once she was gone, Lucian heaved a sigh of relief.

" You can’t keep hiding from everyone. They are bound to find out. Especially Anisha and Zeeb who will be running the company. Let us invite them over for dinner and inform them." I advised.

" I understand Conri. But the close family is the only one I am ready to tell. Let us keep it small. The pack still has traitors and we need to be extra careful. Let us make plans to leave Chugach in a week. I believe that the people who are in the pack office, the Koda council, and Due Corporation will be able to handle everything on our behalf. " Lucian stated.
