Conri and I arrived at the pack offices early in the morning. His mood changed after he went downstairs to make breakfast and I could tell he was tense but there was no rage bouncing off his body.

" You seem to be calm but serious." I pointed out.

" Nothing to worry about, " Conri assured me as he patted my hand.

After breakfast, we left the mansion and passed by the Resort construction site. Conri and Everest were busy reviewing the interior design of the house, while I walked inside and admired how well workers had constructed the site. I knew that this was Conri’s design and I was awed by the place.

After half an hour, Conri came to find me as I was standing on the balcony of the master bedroom, which had a view of the mountain peaks and the river that was flowing from it.

" This is breathtaking. I wonder what the night view will be like " I turned around and beamed.

" You love it " He nodded as he observed.

" I adore Conri. This is breathtaking" I nodded.

" This is our bedroom. I designed it for us. I resting place with a perfect view" Conri pulled into his arms.

" I love it. When can we move in ?’" I asked as I raised myself on tiptoe and bumped our foreheads together.

" Next month. The finishing shall be done by then. I want us to choose the furnishings together. I have one more surprise for you. It will be ready in two weeks. I will bring you over once it’s done. The two pools will be ready by then. One is indoor and the other one will be outdoor. During winter the indoor pool will suffice. I also added a jacuzzi and a gym. The others are offices, a garden, a bar, a visitors’ room, Luke’s classroom, a cinema room, and lastly the safety bunker."

" You have outdone yourself, Husband" I chuckled.

" I wanted to give you a home. One that you will enjoy for the rest of your life. " He nodded.

" Thank you " I pressed our lips together and that is how Everest found us and cleared his throat.

" Sorry to interrupt but everyone has already assembled at the pack office for the meeting. They are all waiting for you. " He spoke up.

" The Alpha is never late" I teased Conri and we both burst out in laughter. Everest held back a laugh as we left the Construction site and headed to the pack offices. On arrival, Conri suggested that we visit John Isla as he wanted to confirm the state that he was in. We found that he was in a daze, by the corner looking like the world had caved on him.

" So, you finally realized that the masters you serve have no power ?" Lucian taunted him and he turned around and his eyes landed on us.

" Go away" He snickered.

" I never thought that one day, someone would take the shifter’s powers for his gain. But since you are all practicing this magic, what stops me from severing the mind link between you and your wolf" Conri spoke up.

John Isla’s eyes widened in terror and heard Lucian push the words through my mind " Can you do that ?"

" Of Course. The power of the King of wolves is vast. He can block the mind link between the shifter wolf and the human. It’s taking away your shifter powers and the only version of you that remains is your human self. " Dolf responded.

" Impossible " John stood up and raised his hands in defense " I would die without my wolf. "

" You would survive but your shifter wolf would forever be gone, ’’ Conri asserted. " It would send a message to your so-called Master and a statement that he is nothing but a failure. A tyrant you will never have power unless he takes it by force" Conri growled.

In a matter of minutes, Everest and I stood in awe as we watched Conri push the power of the King of wolves and then we listened to Adora’s voice boom in the jail" By the moon gods, the power of the shifter wolf is released back to the moon gods. "

John staggered back and he was in bewilderment as he attempted to shift he was screaming in hysteria as he closed his eyes and then opened them in shock.

" You will never be a shifter wolf. Go back to where you came from " Conri commanded as Everest opened the jail cell and he instructed the enforcers to take him back to the forest. John was screaming and cursing at Conri but the enforcers knocked him out and he was carried out of the pack office unconscious.

"We arrested Edins," Everest announced and I knew the trail of his thoughts as we needed to visit him too. He beckoned us to follow him as I laced my hand with Conri’s because my body trembled at the revelation of how powerful Country was.

When we arrived at the jail cell, Edins stood up the minute he spotted us.

He was so calm that it made my skin crawl as I sensed how evil his wolf was.

" To what do I owe the pleasure of your visit Alpha Conri" He addressed his words directly to Conri.

" I wanted to see the mole for myself. " Conri stated.

" Mole? Is that what Hunter and Everest told you ?" He chuckled and then his eyes landed on me.

" You reek of your grandfather’s scent, ’’ Conri announced.

" So what? Should I be crucified for being born in the Abyssal family ?" He rolled his eyes.

" Do you think you can fool Alpha Conri ?" My patience had run out and I spoke with assertion. " He is the one that ordered your arrest"

Edins seemed surprised at my words and then demanded " What is the accusation and where is the evidence?"

" Open the doors " Conri commanded Everest.

Edins seemed surprised at the command and I guessed that he thought Conri would question him and he would bullshit him with his words.

Everest opened the jail cell and Conri walked into the cell and moved so fast that he stood towering over Edins.

" I just took the shifter wolf power from John Isla. He will never be a wolf and I sent him back to your so-called master. What do you think about that ?"

Edin’s lower lip trembled and he struggled to speak as Conri released his power on him and Edin fell to the ground in submission.

" Alpha, please show mercy" He begged.

" Mercy? Did you show mercy when the shifter wolves were killed? Or the other shifter’s blood was drained and their powers were taken from them? How many shifter wolves have died for your fucking cause? I will show no mercy" Conri growled as Adora rose and took back the power of the shifter wolf from Eden’s Abyssal.

Edins wailed and wailed and then lost consciousness and fell on the floor.

Conri turned around and walked out of the jail cell and Everest locked it.

" He will wake up in a while. Double the guard and watch over him. When Adora was taking his power, I felt the connection to another shifter wolf and I guess that he is mated. His mate will appear soon and when they do, lock them up together until I come back" Conri instructed.

" Yes Alpha " Everest nodded and we walked back to the pack offices and found Anisha pacing up and down by the reception.

" Sister, what’s wrong ?" I spoke to her as we approached her.

" Zeeb told me you were coming to the pack office. We have been waiting for the past two hours for you and Conri. I am sorry but I need your signatures for the company. There are documents and payments that you have to sign for the shipment of the pearls and the franchise in Tochigi" She informed us.

" My apologies for keeping you waiting but we had to take care of some business. How about you join the pack meeting and once done we can leave together " I suggested.

" Sounds good" She nodded just as Everest appeared and said " Come on, the pack members are waiting"

We followed him to the pack boardroom and when we walked into the office pack members were in deep conversation as Commander Abram and his battalion stood at the corner of the room looking impatient. Tala, Hunter, Addison, Aspen, Levy, and Keith sat at the round table on one side while Lovita, Tharn, Toten, Aurora, and Uncle Cadman sat on the other side and the enforcer guards stood by the walls. Zeeb stood by the window as he was on a phone call and he disconnected the call the minute he spotted us.

The room was marred in silence as we walked further into the room and to the chair allocated to the pack Alpha. He chose to stand as he pulled the chair for Anisha and we stood behind her flagged by Everest.

" I am sorry to keep you waiting but we have an urgent matter to attend to. I visited the two prisoners this morning, John Isla and Edins Abyssal. Since they have caused so much distress to the shifter wolf, I have taken back their shifter wolf power and handed it back to the moon gods. They will no longer be shifter wolves and will remain human for the rest of their lives. " Conri announced.

" You did what ?" Zeeb yelled so loud and he represented the shocked look on everyone’s face.
