Chapter 181: SUBMERGED

I pushed Isamu back, ending the kiss and I growled at him.

Isamu was unfazed as he smiled down at me and said " Let us go to bed and rest. Tonight I want to show you my treasure"

" Go away" I sidestepped him and rushed to my room. I showered and got into bed. A few minutes later, I heard the door open and Isamu sleeping into the bed behind me, pulling me in for an embrace.

" Zineb, you are one short-tempered person" He murmured.

I listened to his breathing before I willed myself to sleep.

Nightfall came and Isamu took me to the pier. We got into the small boat and set out to sea. The wind picked up as the wave thrashed the boat. I was happy to be out here, in the night sky and alone with Isamu. I stared at his back and saw his shoulder shake.

" What is it ?" I growled at him.

" I love that you are admiring my back " He snickered.

After an hour into the sea, she stopped and said " We are here"

" Where is it? " I demanded.

" This is the entry into the canal, ’’ Isamu explained and then I watched as the waters parted and the submarine appeared. I was shocked and stiff as I stared at the vessel.

" How?" I turned to Isamu.

" I have been planning for a long time. I used the gold that your brother gave this beauty." Isamu beamed as he threw the anchor down and then extended his hand to me. I took his hand as the head of the sub opened and one of the Yakuza men appeared as we walked slowly and then entered the submarine vessel.

After ten minutes, we submerged and got into the water. Isamu walked to the cockpit of the sub and I followed him as I took in the beauty of it all. Once we were submerged the lights of the submarine lit and we were in the view of the bottom of the ocean.

I was awed and taken aback at how beautiful the bottom of the ocean was. The water was clear and the blue color absorbed the colors in the red part of the light spectrum. Like a filter, the weeds behind colors in the blue part of the light spectrum shone brightly. Colors changed from green, red, or other hues as the light bounced off of floating sediments and particles in the water. I had never seen anything as ethereal as the view.

We approached the center of the ocean and I could have sworn there was a barrier on the water.

" Am I delusional or is that a barrier in the water ?" I turned to Isamu

He smiled and said " Your vampire senses are heightened well. The barrier is not visible to the naked eye. And that is how I discovered the canal that leads to Tizheruk’s nest. No one accessed it but him. So I decided to use Ricin to break the barrier. And when I did Tizheruk appeared, serpent form, and then we attacked him. Unfortunately, we were not prepared for the amount of magic power that he had. We could only retreat and ended up with his scale. Harnessing the power of the scale, kept my vampire beast at bay and I have never fed on human blood until you appeared. "

" You mean that the scales of the sea serpent are magical and immortal? " I asked with piqued interest.

" Not immortal but the magic is something so powerful, I have never met a creature like him. " Isamu’s voice was filled with awe and adoration.

" One would think you are in love with him " I chuckled.

" I am not. I just want his power, " Isamu smirked.

" So the Tabular crystal has never been your goal ?" I leaned back on one of the chairs, staring up at Isamu.

" It was the first time before I discovered Thizeruk," Isamu stated.

" Sir, the bait has been set. We have placed the machines near the barrier and we shall release the Ricin poison once you give the order’ The guard announced.

Isamu nodded and then leaned down to whisper" This is the first step of the hunt"

" Does Lobo know you have a submarine?" I raised one eyebrow at Isamu.

He shook his head and then responded as his eyes twinkled with mischief " Fuck no"

" Why?" I stood up straight and raised my chin in defense. " Why would you not tell him? You do know that without him, you would not have discovered that Tizheruk is alive"

" I know" Isamu nodded but I was not ready to share all the information with him.

" I am loyal to Lobo," I snickered at Isamu. This man was going to drive a wedge between me and Lobo.

" I can read your thoughts. You are worried that Lobo will think of you as a traitor"

" I don’t want Lobo to doubt me. He is my family, " I insisted.

" Okay. I will not let my new brother-in-law doubt me" Isamu responded with a straight face.

I stared at him for a few seconds before laughing out and scolding him " You are incorrigible Isamu. "

" Isamu Saki"

" What " I was lost before I realized that was his name.

" Isamu Saki " He repeated and I rushed over to put my hands around his neck as I stood on tiptoe.

" I love your name Isamu Saki" I grinned at him.

" Let us head back " he commanded the captain and I watched as the captain turned the submarine back and we floated in the sea ocean as it moved with speed, back to where our boat was.

Once the submarine came up, we went back to the boat and Isamu drove us back to the pier. I finally realized that Isamu had more secrets than I wanted to know. He was dangerous and he hid so much from Lobo. Isamu was a man who never trusted anyone. Was he testing me? Did he leak the information to distract me from the Freki issue or testing to see if I am trustworthy to keep his secrets?

I got off the boat and headed straight to the training center and got busy. All this time Isamu watched me while I trained and from the corner of my eyes, I could sense how much his eyes bore to me.

" You have improved, ’’ Isamu praised me.

"Not as much. I need more practice " I stood at the center of the training ring.

Isamu approached and said, " What about mind training ?"

" What?" I raised my eyes.

I felt Isamu’s power push through my mind and Zaria howled. His power paralyzed my beast and Zaria and I was left helpless as he pulled me into his arms. " Your mind is weak. I can penetrate it so easily. You need to mind training "

" How ?" I pipped.

" Push back with your mind. Don’t let anyone control or get access to both your beasts. " Isamu commanded as I felt his power recede. ’’ Now let’s try again"

" Wait " I tried to break free from his hold.

" The enemy will not let you wait " Isamu growled and then pushed his power into my mind.

Heaving in pain, I commanded Zaria and my beast to resist and push back. For only a few seconds, we succeeded before Isamu was able to take over. " Push harder" he commanded and I felt tears hit my eyes as I pushed Aria and lost the power of the Vampire beast.

" No. The secret is in the power of your vampire beast. It can resist mind control. Let it lead you and push Aria back" Isamu explained and then pulled his power back. " Let us try once again"

" Isamu, are you using your full power ?" I demanded.

"No. I realized that I am usually soft when it comes to you" Isamu confessed.

"Let’s go," I said and then Isamu pushed into my mind a link. I used my beast to push back and create a barrier. Aria’s power was heightened. In minutes, I felt Isamu recede and there was a surprised look on his face. After a while, his power could no longer penetrate my mind.

" You surprised me, Zineb Aria." He chuckled. For a newly evolved hybrid, you are doing exceptionally well.

" Where the fuck have you two been?" We heard Lobo’s growl behind us.

I attempted to push Isamu back but his hole was so strong that I lowered my head in embarrassment.

" We went for a boat ride. Why?" Isamu tilted his head and stared down at me, oblivious of the low growl that came from Lobo.

" I have news from Chugach. Lucian and Conri already know that we are here, " Lobo announced.

The stiffening of Isamu’s body gave me a chance to slip out of his grasp and then walked over to stand beside Lobo.

" How did they find out where we are?" Isamu growled.

" Your friends in the Yakuza sold you out to Zaya Dolf. " Conri growled again.

" It was bound to happen. They saw us as threats" I muttered.

" You mean they saw you as a threat, " Lobo pointed out.

" Zineb is not a threat. " Isamu interjected.

" Only you think so. We need to speed up our plans, " Lobo insisted.

" Fine. I will send the enforcers out tomorrow to launch the first attack" Isamu said as he turned around and walked away from the training ground.

" Where were you?" Lobo menacingly approached.

I stood my ground and said " We went for a boat ride and then came back to train"

" You have become a good liar Zineb" Lobo snickered.

" And you have become a more paranoid brother. You forget that I am your family" I retorted and walked away from the training ground, stomping my feet in anger. When I got to the house I found Isamu by my bedroom door " You are learning fast" He chuckled.

I pushed my way into my room locked the door and threw myself on the bed.

" Those two will drive me crazy very soon "
