BENJAMIN’S POV

Gold my wolf stirred up at dawn and I wondered why he had awakened me. I turned to stare at Luna and she was having a nightmare. I pulled her into my arms, and she immediately woke up and bit back a sob.

" Calm down honey" I rubbed her back.

Luna pushed me away and stared at me eyes blazing " Benjamin, I don’t want to have any more children"

" I know Luna but you do know that you have been avoiding going to the pack doctor for the past two weeks. It’s inevitable to get you checked up so that we can be sure." I encouraged her.

" That damn serpent, he had a hand in this’ ’ Luna got off the pad heaving heavily.

" I don’t think so. This is me and you " I smirked and that seemed to fuel Luna’s anger.

" Benjamin, I only got the job as the Pack Alpha. My mind is not ready to be a mother. " Luna emphasized

" Why?" My eyes blazed at her.

She took a step back when she realized that I was getting angry.

I got off the bed and demanded " Why Luna? Being mated to me I would want to have kids of my own. I love Tala and Zeeb as my sons. You know it well. But a pup born from me and you would be great "

She stood mute and then turned to leave and I growled " Don’t you even dare step out of this room unless you have an answer, Luna. I have been accommodating when you threw tantrums for the past two weeks. You did not tell me what bothered you so much about carrying my flesh and blood. "

" I am not ready, Benjamin. I am still mourning the loss of Elijah. He was dear to me and I feel like I will betray him" Luna whispered.

" What the fuck are you talking about " I growled so loud that I feel the room rattle.

Luna turned around, her eyes full of tears " I feel that if I have another child I will be betraying Elijah" She repeated the words that cut so deep that I staggered back in shock.

" So you can mate with me but not have pups. Is that what you are implying ?" I demanded.

Luna remained quiet and did not deny the words.

I left the room in a huff, as I entered the bathroom and locked myself. An hour later, after a shower, I walked out of the house without breakfast though I could smell the bacon and eggs that Luna was making.

Leaving the house, I headed to the pub. I spend the day barking orders, cleaning, and being in a nasty mood. It was almost four in the evening when Everest arrived at the pub. He took one look at workers and then his brows furrowed at me.

" Whatever is ailing you, don’t take it out on them. Come on, let’s talk in the office" He pulled me over after asking the waiter for a bottle of whiskey and two glasses. Ten minutes into quietly drinking at Benjamin’s office, he was still tightlipped and never uttered a word.

" Do you need me to squeeze it out of you ?" Everest chuckled and I heaved a sigh of annoyance. " I know this is all about Luna so just speak up.

" I can tell she is pregnant. But she refused to go to the pack doctor and has been throwing a tantrum for two weeks and is even has nightmares. I confronted her this morning and she said that she felt that she was betraying the late Elijah" I growled.

" What ?" Everest choked on his whiskey.

" Exactly. She does not want to have pups with me " I muttered through gritted teeth.

" So what Tizheruk predicted is true. She will bear pups?" Everest’s eyes were wide in shock.

" Yes, " I nodded.

" So how did you solve the matter ?" Everest demanded.

" I left the house in a fit and been here cleaning and working " I announced.

" Are you a coward? Why did you not just pin her on the bed and change her mind?" Everest smirked.

" What?" I stuttered.

" You are so slow Benjamin. You should have made her submit to you and scream out loudly until you are satisfied that she understands that you are her mate" Everest chuckled. "

I remained stunned as the words sank in.

" This drink is on your" Everest’s voice boomed as he burst into fits of laughter.

" Thank you " I muttered in embarrassment.

" So what brings you here? " I changed the topic.

" I am here to drink, " Everest answered in between fits of laughter.

" Cut the crap. You are here alone. Where is Levy ?" I demanded.

" He is back at home, resting, " Everest eyes twinkled.

" How come I never knew you were this perverted? ’’ I chuckled.

"At least I put a smile on your face. ’’ Everest grinned. " I came because Conri called me. It seems that someone sold Tizheruk out. And It seems Lobo and the Hybrid Isamu are already back in Alaska accompanied by Zineb. They are in Sitka and came with Yakuza soldiers and they will launch an attack on us soon "

" What the fuck ?" I growled.

" It was the contact from Elder Zaya that gave us the intel. It seems Lobo has the Tabular crystal but no one has the information on what exactly he plans to do " Everest announced. " I fear we have a battle that is coming to Mount Chugach."

" Shit " I cursed again. " We need to have a meeting and prepare or else we shall be caught unawares. "

" That is why I came. Levy has gone to meet some of Ralph Isla’s old friends so that we can get reinforcements. Some members of the pack are still loyal to Lobo and we need to flash them out" Everest explained.

"Great. I suggest we meet at the Freki mansion and discuss this. How about tomorrow morning ?"

" That will be in order" Everest nodded and stood up. " Now go home and make our pack Alpha happy"

I extended my hand to Everest and he shook it " Thank you so much, Everest. I guess I am old-fashioned but I will take up your advice "

Once Everest left the pub, I sat down and cursed at how I had left the house in a fit. I called the pack office and they informed me that Luna never came in. Hanging up the call, I called the security team stationed at the house, and they told me Luna left for two hours and come back, and she was now at home.

I left the pub and drove home like a madman. On arrival, I paced up and down the entrance of the house before I decided to bite the bullet and get into the house. I noticed that the lights were off and I walked to the kitchen and found Luna had left the food in the warmers.

I sat down and enjoyed the food as I had spent the day hungry. Once done, I smiled inwardly and walked to the bedroom and Luna was on the bed. She was feigning that she was asleep as I stood in the moonlighted room and I listened to her breathing. I saw her body stiffen when she realized that I was in the room.

Shedding my clothes off I stood by the bed naked. " I know you woke Luna".

She pretended not to hear and remained stoic on the bed. The bed dipped and I pulled the covers off her body and pulled her pajama pants off. She raised her head and growled at me.

" That is more like it " I growled at her and my mouth descended between her legs. A scream escaped her mouth as I lapped on her sweetness, mercilessly, and then her hands went to my hair as she pulled it. I growled in response and pushed my tongue into her.
