TIZHERUKS POV

Four hybrid wolves arrived at the Villa made the hairs on the back of my neck stand out. But the way the guards at the gate looked awed by them made me and Hunter pause instead of attacking or demanding who they were.

"You must be Tizheruk and Hunter. "The bulky man spoke "I am Commander Abram. This is my team Oliver, Jerusha, and Graham. We are friends of Lucian Freki"

"Since when does Lucian have a hybrid wolf who are his friends?" I snickered.

"Since the army. We served together. You can call him to confirm, "Commander Abram spoke up with confidence.

"He is telling the truth. "Haida’s voice rose from behind as they walked over with Tala.

"Why are you here?" Tala demanded as her eyes blazed at them.

"She is mated to him, "The man called Oliver laughed as he pointed at Hunter.

"That is true, "Hunter acknowledged." You did not answer the question we are all asking. Why are you here?’

"Can we get out of the open air and speak inside the house? " Commander Abram requested.

"Come in, "Haida said cheerfully.

We all turned to her in shock as she beckoned them to follow her. Once inside the house, they all stopped in the living room as Elder Zaya, Eliana Due, and Mrs. Hemming stared at them in shock. Addison and Aspen moved to stand by Mrs. Hemming.

"I must be seeing my things, "Eliana Due spoke.

"They are Hybrid wolves. Friends of Lucian "Haida piped.

"Your mate will one day put us in trouble, "Hunter growled at me.

"Why are you here?" I walked over to stand next to Aspen and Addison.

"My name is Commander Abram. This is Oliver, Jerusha, and Graham. We are friends of Lucian Freki and served with him in the military. Lucian and his husband Conri sent us to check on you. They are afraid that someone tailed you to Emerald Lake"

"Impossible "I spoke up.

"My name is Graham. I have heard so much about you. It’s such an honor to be in the presence of the serpent sea god," Graham said enthusiastically.

"Can you focus on the matter at hand? " The man who was introduced as Oliver scolded him.

"Did I hear that the woman is his mate? She must be a sea serpent too," Graham added.

"No, I am a sea wolf, "Haida supplied.

"I told you she would get us into trouble, "Hunter groaned, and Tala burst out laughing.

"It’s a pleasure to meet you all. My name is Zaya Dolf. This is Mrs. Hemming, she is Hunters, Addison and Aspen’s mother" Elder Zaya pointed at the three of them. " And this is Eliana Due"

The minute they heard Eliana’s name, they all looked uncomfortable and their eyes darted left, right, and center

"I bet you know who I am, "Eliana chuckled. " A little bird told me an hour ago that assassins chopped off Fridolf’s head. So am guessing you are uncomfortable because you were behind it. Thank you for helping me get rid of that evil piece of shit "

"What?" Commander Abram seemed shocked.

"I can also guess he wanted Lucian dead. Hence, you went after him instead," Eliana chuckled.

They all nodded and then waited for her to speak again.

"Thank you" She smiled warmly at them.

"You are most welcome, ma’am. Our concern at the moment is your safety. Though you have Tizheruk here, we still can’t be lax. We met with Lobo Aria and I can say that he is relentless and will not give up. We left him a warning and hope he stays put for now. We have some of our members of the battalion present in Ottawa. They will be on guard from now on and offer you safety," Commander Abram stated.

"You seem to be in a hurry, are headed somewhere ?" I asked.

"Japan. Conri sent us on a mission," Oliver piped.

"He is the king of wolves hence, we must obey. " Graham grinned like a fool.

" If he heard you say that, he would be so offended, "I laughed.

" He was. He brushed it off, but I could feel the power of the crystal running through his veins. And more sore, some of that power is in Lucian, "Commander Abram supplied.

"I repeat. That is why Adora chose him. He has no greed for power. " Jerusha nodded.

"How soon will your men get here? " I demanded

"Within the next twenty-four hours, they should be here. I will leave the code that will identify them. "Commander Abram stated, "We need to leave now. I am sorry for coming in unannounced. It is always better this way. "

In twenty minutes, they had left the villa, and Hunter and I walked to the far end of the villa to have a private talk.

"Could it be that Elder Zaya was followed without noticing ?" Hunter asked.

"That is my guess. And for Conri to be worried, it seems that they will find us soon, " I voice my thoughts. "

"What do you think the situation is like back at home? " Hunter chuckled

"It must be comical. Let me call Conri, " I stated and removed my cell phone and called Conri, putting the phone on speaker. He answered on the first ring and said, " Did Commander Abram arrive?"

"Yes. They just left and informed us that the security team was headed here in twenty-four hours. "I responded.

"Great. I worry about Godmother, Eliana, and Mrs. Hemming. They need to be protected just in case someone attacks. "

"You don’t trust our skills? "Hunter laughed.

"That is not it, Hunter," Lucian’s voice came through. " You will be inclined to protect your mate first. Everyone knows the drill and hence the ladies will be left exposed"

"Fine," Hunter huffed. " Thank you so much for doing this"

"Why are you thanking them?" I teased. " How can you be friends with Hybrid wolves?"

"They were part of the military battalion that I served with in the Middle East. I trust them with my life and they were contracted by Fridolf to serve Lobo Aria. He wanted them to kill me and as soon as they heard my name, they came to find me. After that, they chopped off Fridolf’s head and left a threatening note to Lobo Aria."

"That is what he deserves," Hunter stated

"We shall remain vigilant for now," I asserted. " I bet they are going to Japan to find Isamu"

"Yes. let us tie all the loose ends so that Lobo Aria does not have a way out," Conri stated

"I will be back in Alaska in two days," I announced.

"Why?" Hunter was the one who asked,

"I need to speak to Conri in person" I shrugged my shoulders.

"You can tell me what you need, "Conri’s worried voice came through.

"It’s a personal matter," I snapped at him.

"Fine, "Conri laughed and then said, " Keep your eyes open just in case and see you soon" and then the call was disconnected.

"Are you okay?" Hunter asked.

"Yes," I muttered through gritted teeth, but last night was hard. I could not sleep, as being in the same room with Haida was too much. I felt the heat rise, and I had to go to the water for the rest of the night. Her scent was driving me crazy.

"You need to just talk to her, "Hunter advised

"What are you talking about? " I brushed him off.

"Your mate. You know that she can sense your hesitation and I bet it’s driving her crazy," Hunter chuckled.

"I have been alone for so many years that I have no idea how to be with her, " I confessed.

" You would be surprised to know that she can sense that, too. You just need to take a step and she will come to you," Hunter stated.

"It’s easier said than done." I shrugged my shoulders.

The sound of footsteps on the gravel made us turn around as we watched Tala approaching. Once she got closer, her eyes blazed at me and she said, "Are you stupid?"

"What?" my eyes widened.

"You need to go after Haida. She seems angry and went into the water" Tala huffed in frustration

"Why is she angry?" I raised my hands in question.

"How could she not be angry when you have been leaving the bed at night and going into the sea? She feels like you are avoiding her, "Tala yelled.

"I told you so, " Hunter laughed.

"Women are too troublesome. " I cursed and rushed to the water, shifting midair and diving in. I opened my senses and searched for her. She was miles away from Emerald Lake and had swum so fast. My power senses kicked in and I went after her.

By the time I caught up, she had reached the east side of the Lake and climbed up the rocks that headed to a large waterfall. The way she staggered made me wonder if she was okay. In seconds, she fell to the ground and passed out. I got out of the water, shifted, and then stared at the naked body of an unconscious Haida.

"Shit," I cursed as the heat rose in my body just by the mere sight of her. "What the hell am I supposed to do"
