HUNTER’S POV

The flight landed in Ottawa airport and the humid weather hit our noses the minute we got off the plane. I had rushed home and picked up Elanor, as we left Alaska for Canada. During the flight, I narrated to Elanor what had happened in the KODA council meeting. More sore the fact that Lobo Aria has been stripped of the Alpha position and Luna Elijah stepped in as the temporary She Alpha until the Golden pack voted and selected a new Alpha.

The wind picked up we cleared our documents at costumes and left the airport.

Tizheruk organized a driver who picked me up and drove to and headed towards the west of the mountains where my family was. Tizheruk told me that the villa was next to the mountain lake and it made me happy that Ma was in a comfortable place.

The car ride took three hours and Elanor chuckled as she said "Calm down" amidst my raging emotions.

"What should I do? It’s been so many years. And to even think that Tala is with them throws me off" I confessed to Elanor.

She took my hand and said "It will be fine"

"Oh Elanor, I must have done good at some point in my life for me to be blessed. I know that I did a lot of bad things for Lobo Aria even so, the moon gods saw it fit to give me back my family and a powerful mate. She is fearless even though she cries a lot "

"And from now henceforth, you better do right by yourself. " Elanor nodded.

"I can no longer feel the Tabular crystal suppressing me," I whispered. ’ Since I interacted with Tizheruk, Hemming has been more cheerful and grown stronger. Could it be that the Tabular fades away once one starts doing good?"

"You can ask him and compare notes. Now that Lobo has the Tabular, it’s only a matter of time before he retaliates. "Elanor stated.

"I know Lobo will go down fight but what even shocked me was Fridolf Due. He is twisted and so evil it made me surprised. But Eliana did not let him off," I chuckled.

"A man who watched his two children die is twisted. He should be locked up for good. But I worry about the Yakuza man. "

"They said his name is Isamu" I nodded

"He wants immortality and would do anything to get the Freki wolf. I fear Conri will have a battle up his hands," Elanor stated. " You need to stand in and help them just as they have helped you"

We reached the edge of the mountains, into the Canadian desert by the lake. The landscape was beautiful. In half an hour, we arrived at a beautiful villa by the lake. Elanor gasped as the driver announced, "We have arrived"

The sun was almost setting as we alighted from the car and then Tala rushed from the villa and threw herself in my arms. "I am so glad you came," she whispered.

"I missed you so much, "I whispered back.

"It’s good to see you again Tala, "Elanor spoke up.

Tala laughed happily and got out of my arms, rushed to Elanor, and embraced her. Once they were done, Tala turned me to and said " Come on, your family is waiting for you "

We walked into the villa and I felt anxious as we entered the corridor and came into the vast, well-furnished living room. My step faltered when I saw Ma.

"Hunter," she whispered and burst into sobs. I rushed over to her and hugged her. I felt my knees go weak as my legs gave way. I fell to the ground as I felt the sobs hit my body. I felt Aspen and Addison’s hands embrace me as they cried.

From a distance, I heard Tizheruk say, "Let us give them space. "

Half an hour later, we wiped our tears, and I sat next to Ma and Addison.

"Brother, you have grown into a giant, " Aspen chuckled as he sat on the opposite couch, rubbing his hands on his thighs.

"You are not too bad yourself, " I responded. " Have you all been well?

"Yes," they all responded in unison.

"So have I "I stated. "Ma, you have aged"

"It was bound to happen," Ma laughed.

"I hope that you are not in any trouble," Ma whispered.

"None. All is well in Alaska," I informed them.

"Are you sure? " Addison pressed on.

"I am sure," Tizheruk spoke up as they walked into the room with Haida and Tala. Elanor followed behind and I stood up hurriedly and said "Ma, let me introduce you to the woman who has been taking care of me. "Elanor walked over. "This is Elanor"

Ma pulled her close and hugged her. " Thank you for taking care of him"

"He is a such good child. I did what I could. " Elanor blushed while responding

"I am hungry. Is there any food to eat? " I interjected.

"Yes. I made food. " Ma nodded and said, "Dinner is about to be served. "

"I need food. " Luke rushed over and hugged Tala.

"He has so much energy, I can’t keep up, "Aspen chuckled.

"Hi Luke" I waved at him.

Luke’s eyes blinked at me and then said, " You are Hunter hemming. Pa Conri and Pa Luke already told me about you. At first, I thought you were a bad guy but not anymore "

"That’s good. "I nodded at him and smiled.

"I like this house. Can I stay?" He asked me.

"Yes. "I nodded at him and then he rushed over and threw himself on me. I reacted swiftly and picked him up. "You can stay as long as you like "

"Cool. " He chuckled as Ma walked ahead to the dining room and we all followed. I turned to Tala, who winked at me and said, "Good job"

Seating with my family at the dinner table, we had a hearty meal full of laughter. I felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders and my heart skipped a beat. I felt Tala pull my hand in hers as our fingers laced at each other. I turned to her, and she smiled warmly at me. I knew she was telling me it would be okay.

We retired to the patio after dinner as we caught up on life. Tizheruk and Haida were nowhere to be seen, and Elanor retired early since she had jet lag.

"Hunter, what happened to Lobo? " Ma finally asked.

"The KODA council removed him as the Alpha of the pack. Luna Elijah is the new pack leader," I informed her.

"Your mother?" Ma turned to Tala and Tala nodded.

"Her mother is a She-Wolf" I explained.

"Wow" Addison winked at me and I could only laugh.

"I expected Conri to be the one taking over, " Tala spoke up.

"Unfortunately, it will take a long time to convince him. He does not want to be pack Alpha," I huffed.

"I am tired. You need to catch up with your mate" Ma stood up.

"Go and rest, ma. I am here to stay unless the KODA council summons me" I nodded at her, walked over, and kissed her temple.

"Rest well. "She dragged Addison and Aspen from the patio and then we were left with Tala in the clear Canadian skies.

"Are you tired? " She picked up the beer and sipped it.

"No. I am content," I informed her, and she chuckled.

"This was a big day for you," she whispered. "I am glad I am here to witness it "

I stood up and then raised an eyebrow at her. " How much small talk will you make "

"As much as I can, " She retorted.

"Do you know how much I craved for you?" I spoke, and she rushed over and covered my mouth.

"We are in a house full of shifters. " She blushed.

My eyes bore at her and I removed her hands from my mouth, leaned down on her ear, and whispered "Oh Tala, I want you so bad, that my body aches just by the sight of you. I will not let tonight pass"

She bit her lip, and then her hands went around my neck. "Lucky enough, I chose the room at the lower part of the villa where it’s private"

"Come on" I pulled her out of the patio,

We walked down the villa until we reached the private quarters, and the place was beautiful. We walked to the balcony of the villa. It had a view of the lake and the breeze from it was refreshing. The clear skies made it all romantic as Tala and I held hands as we stared at the vast lake. The wave came in crashing by the wall and the scenery set the right mood.

"Are you ready? " I pulled Tala in a back hug.

"For what, Hunter? Are you being presumptuous ?"

"Yes. Today I will make you mine," I growled down at her neck and her body trembled. I pulled her away from the balcony, into the bedroom, and then clicked the door shut.
