Chapter 123: HAIDA

TIZHERUK’S POV

"You need to get back "I Instructed Hunter. "Once Lobo has calmed down, I can get you to Canada to see your family"

"No. I will find my way. I have troubled you and there is no need anymore. " Hunter shook his head.

"Oh Hunter, you dont know me at all," I said and left him at the hotel staircase dripping wet from the rain. I walked out of the hotel, hiding in plain sight as the guards who were tailing Hunter passed me without noticing anything.

I left Sitka and swam back to Chugach. I arrived at the mansion in the evening of the next day I found enforcers circling the mountains and lay low hiding from them.

As soon as I approached the Freki mansion, the scent of Haida hit my nose.

"Impossible" I whispered to myself.

I rushed up the step and found Elder Zaya, Lucian. Conri and Luke were seated with Haida in the living room. My eyes widened as my serpent beast rose and declared, " Mate"

Haida must have felt it, and she gasped as her jaw fell open.

"In my lifetime, I never thought I would witness such a scene. " Conri’s voice reached my ears.

"Shut up" I scolded him.

"Bering, your guest has been waiting for you since morning, ’ Elder Zaya beamed.

"How did you get here?" I demanded.

"The same way you just got from Sitka," Haida responded.

"You went back to Sitka?" Conri stood up in anger.

"I will explain later. Come with me" I pointed at Haida. She stood up and obediently followed me to the bunker.

"You pushed our mate away last time," I heard Bering my serpent push the words in my mind.

"A little teasing hurt no one," I snapped back at him

"Yet here we are. "He chuckled

Once we got to the bunker and the door closed, I walked to the center and turned around. "What can I do for you, Haida?"

"Cut the crap Bering. I heard your serpent beast in my head declare I was your mate. You ran from me and left me in Canada. Do you know the kind of anguish I have been going through for the past two days? To find your kind and not only my kind but the serpent god?"

"Go away," I stated as I walked toward the bunker door to unlock it so that she could leave.

"I don’t mind making a scene, " She snickered and sidestepped, and walked into the bunker.

"Are we going to do this the easy way or the hard way?"

She smirked and crossed her arms in front of her chest.

I had no idea what pushed me, but I growled at her in anger. She looked surprised and her hands dropped from her chest in shock.

"I hate that you have been avoiding me and you were not happy to see me. How can the love of my life treat me this way? "She complained.

"What?" I croaked. Did she say the love of her life?"

She huffed, and her eyes burned with anger.

"Go back to Canada. It’s not safe here," I seethed.

His eyes burned. I could not detect whether it was with need or anger. " Just go " He

"Why?"She demanded as her nostrils flared. " Why should I go away from my mate?"

"You are playing with fire," I threatened her.

"Fire? Will you give it to me? I have been lonely all my life, "She whispered and then took a step towards me.

"Haida," I seethed, but she was not deterred as she moved closer to me

"You finally said my name" She smiled and then reached the spot where I stood and pressed her body to mine. " I thought you would be happy to see me" Her arms went around my neck and she pulled my head down and pressed our foreheads together. My eyes voluntarily shut and her scent was so sweet that I felt like I had come.

We stood like that for a few minutes before I opened my eyes and found Haida watching me with keen interest.

"What?" I demanded as my hands remained fisted at my sides.

"Please. You need to understand that being my mate, a no from you is like a knife stabbed to my heart, "She pleaded.

"That is not my intention. I have been alone for so long. This is new to me." I whispered.

She pressed her body on mine, and my cock stirred.

"You shameless, "I snickered at her" I thought everyone said you were silent and obedient.

Her laughter made my body tremble, and I leaned down and pressed my nose on her neck. She tilted her neck, and I watched as her lips parted and a small moan escaped her mouth.

I snapped out of the trance, took a step back, and whispered, "Did you have dinner?

She huffed, and they responded, "I did. Elder Zaya was kind enough to feed me."

"I am going to take a shower. " I announced, and she moved back, and not before her finger brushed mine. As soon as I disappeared into the shower room, I released the breath that I was holding. How could a meek person turn into a seductive siren in seconds?

.Getting into the shower, I welcomed the scalding water as it hit my body and soothed it. I had no idea how long I stood until I felt my body become too lax. Soaping it down, I scrubbed myself, rinsed, and stepped out of the shower. I took my time since I wanted Haida gone by the time I came out. I picked a towel that was placed on the shelf and wrapped myself around it. I spent a few minutes drying my hair to ensure no drops of water were left. I left the bathroom, switched off the lights, and walked into the open closet for a change of clothes.

I walked to the bunker and found that Haida was already on the bed. I listened to her breathing and when her nostrils flared; I knew she was faking it. I walked to the bed, and it dipped as I got on it.

"Why are you in my bed?" I asked.

Her eyes snapped open, and she responded, " Because I belong to you"

"And they all accuse me of having a glib tongue. They have not seen anything yet. " I laughed and rearranged myself on the bed, laying next to her. I was careful not to brush my hands on her body.

"Mrs Hemming said you had been on land for five years," I made conversation.

"Eight years. "She responded. "She only found me after three years. It took time for me to get used to the human body"

"Did you suffer?" I asked.

She turned and then placed herself on my chest as her hands went around me. "Yes. But that is a story for another day. Now can you please relax so that I can sleep? I rarely get to sleep well"

"How? This is the first," I responded in hushed tones.

"Mine too. And from now on, I will sleep in your arms. " She whispered and then I listened to the slow breathing from his body and in seconds Haida was asleep. It took me a while before my eyes closed and I fell asleep.

It was the wee hours of the morning when I felt the bunker open. I opened my eyes and watched his Conri walk over to the bed and his eyes widened when he spotted Haida holding me and her leg was thrown over mine. The grin that was plastered on his face was comical, and he suppressed a chuckle.

"Why are you here?" I snapped at Conri.

"I was worried that you would eat her alive, "Conri responded and then moved to the far corner of the bunker.

I slowly got out of bed and ensured Haida was not disturbed. I followed Conri and then stood by his side and retorted, "I am glad you are amused."

"I am. That I am. This is unexpected, but it pleases me. " He raised his hand and then shrugged his shoulders.

"Where is your mate?" I asked.

"Sleeping soundly," He responded.

"What do you want, Conri?" I demanded

"I need to know if there is a possibility that Lucian has the Omega genes," I whispered.

"What?" Tizheruk gasped. "What do you mean? Lucian is an Alpha"

"When we mate, his scent changes into an Omega," I confessed.

"Oh, boy" Tizheruk’s eyes widened. "The Freki are awesome wolves. And for Lucian to be mated to a Dolf, the possibilities are endless. And even more sore, you being fully mated to him as Adora said, the crystal powers will belong to you. "

"They do now," I informed Tizheruk.

He burst out laughing, and we heard Haida stir. "As prophesied years ago"

" You need to find out about me. Sorry to bother you. I will leave the two of you to enjoy yourselves. Come out when you are ready. Elder Zaya seems worried and Tala is already here waiting for feedback on Hunter, "Conri said out loudly, smirked, and left.

I cursed at him and then watched as Haida’s eyes widened as she followed Conri’s back until the door closed.

"What happened? " She turned to me in question.

"Time to wake up. We need to go upstairs as Elder Zaya is waiting for us," I announced.
