CEO Wants To Marry Me After Divorce -
Chapter 884. Rong Ying
Chapter 884: 884. Rong Ying
"Aunt Rong."
"You must be tired. I’ve already asked the servant to prepare some of your favorite dishes. Eat up and have a good rest. We can talk about anything else after you’ve rested."
"Alright, thank you, Aunt Rong."
Aunt Rong, or Rong Ying, was a psychology professor at Harvard University and was a college alum of Lu Moqing’s father, Lu Jun, who was a few years her senior.
When Lu Jun had an accident, the Lu family was plunged into chaos. Although Old Madame Lu was holding things together, without Rong Ying’s help during that time, it’s questionable if Old Madame Lu could’ve sustained the family business until Lu Moqing took over.
When Lu Moqing was six years old, Qin Shuyi left the family, and Old Madame Lu had to both manage the business and take care of him and Lu Xintong. Her health couldn’t take it.
At that time, Rong Ying was invited to be a professor at Harvard’s Psychology Department. However, to help Old Madame Lu take care of Lu Moqing and his sister Lu Xintong, she stubbornly turned down the offer.
It wasn’t until a few years later when the Lu family business gradually stabilized that she left City A and went to teach at Harvard.
Later on, when Lu Moqing went to the United States to study, Rong Ying continued to take good care of him.
In Lu Moqing’s heart, Rong Ying was even more of a mother figure than his own mother.
Aside from Old Madame Lu, Rong Ying was considered one of the most respected elders for Lu Moqing.
Rong Ying was almost fifty years old and had remained single until now, never married and never had children.
Lu Moqing once suggested that after she retired, she could return to the country to enjoy her old age, and he would take care of her. She refused.
She had long grown accustomed to life in the United States and felt out of place upon returning to her homeland.
Seeing her insistence, Lu Moqing did not press the matter.
Anyway, with advanced transportation nowadays, taking care of Rong Ying wasn’t a problem, distance-wise.
After dinner, Lu Moqing went to Rong Ying’s study and told her about the purpose of his trip to the United States. This left Rong Ying silent for a long time without saying a word.
Lu Moqing didn’t hurry her and waited quietly in front of her. After a long time, he heard Rong Ying speak in a hoarse voice:
"Last time you mentioned that your father’s plane was forcibly shot down over the Pacific Ocean. I’ve been uneasy ever since. Now we can’t find out who is dealing with your father, but the enemy must not be a simple person. Moqing, you must be careful."
"Don’t worry, Aunt Rong, I’ll be careful."
Although there was no substantial evidence, it was clear who had a motive to kill Lu Moqing’s father.
Rong Ying continued, "Have you confirmed Lin Jin’s whereabouts?"
"According to the facial recognition system, the last known location of Lin Jin was in Boston. If what happened back then had nothing to do with him, why is he still hiding instead of coming forward?"
Lu Moqing shared his suspicions with Rong Ying, and then added with concern:
"My people are already secretly searching for Lin Jin’s whereabouts in Boston. We should have some news in the next two days. Please be careful when you go out lately, Aunt Rong. I’m afraid they might try to harm you."
Lu Moqing’s words made Rong Ying smile bitterly and say:
"I’m just a university professor with no special skills. Why would they bother with me? It’s you who should be careful. First, you found out about your father’s accident, and now you’re looking into Lin Jin. Be careful when you go out. I’m worried that they’ll harm you."
"I got it, Aunt Rong. Don’t worry."
