He knew Qiao Xu would endure the pain for their son, and would never drop out of the race just because he suggested it, so he let her be.

"Let me know if you can’t bear it," he said, still concerned.

"Mm-hmm."

Qiao Xu replied, and as she saw Lu Moqing stretch out his long arm to embrace her shoulder, pulling her closer to him, her body stiffened slightly.
