Upon reaching the top floor, Lu Moqing walked towards his office with the food container, only to be stopped by Gu Junhang.

"Mo Qing."

Lu Moqing turned around and saw Gu Junhang walking towards him. After thinking it over, he said, "If you can’t let go of her, just let go of what happened eight years ago. There aren’t many eight-year periods in your life to squander like this."

As his brother, this was all he could say. The choice still ultimately lies with Lu Moqing.

Lu Moqing glanced at him, gave a bitter smile, and didn’t say anything. He turned around and continued walking towards his office.

When Lu Moqing entered the office, Qiao Xu was still looking at the documents in her hand. Hearing the noise, she instinctively raised her head, just in time to see Lu Moqing looking at her.

"I bought lunch. Come and eat."

Qiao Xu was taken aback, not expecting that Lu Moqing had gone out to buy lunch for her earlier.

With all the online food delivery apps now, it never occurred to her that Lu Moqing would personally go out to buy it.

Suppressing the strange feeling in her heart, she put down the documents and walked over.

As soon as she sat down, Lu Moqing’s mobile phone rang. It was a call from Jiang Hao, who was being punished in the mailroom.

"Bring the person up later."

He hung up the phone with a stern face, then looked at Qiao Xu sitting on the sofa. His icy face warmed up slightly.

"Do you like this food? If not, I can go buy something else."

Qiao Xu glanced at the opened food containers. They all contained light dishes.

Although light, their preparation was quite exquisite, making it easy to whet one’s appetite just by looking at them.

She picked up her chopsticks and ate the rice one bite at a time. She noticed out of the corner of her eye that Lu Moqing’s gaze was fixed on her face and wouldn’t move, making her feel very uneasy.

She could only pretend not to notice, focusing her attention on the food in front of her. But with Lu Moqing staring at her like this, she had no appetite. After eating a little bit, she put down her chopsticks.

"I’m full."

She looked at Lu Moqing and said, "I’ve dealt with your documents for you. If there’s nothing else, I’ll leave first."

"What’s the rush?"

Lu Moqing frowned unhappily, his dark pupils filled with irritation as he looked at Qiao Xu. "Do you really not want to stay here that much?"

Lu Moqing’s words made Qiao Xu’s face flush with a hint of surprise. "I’ve already dealt with your documents, so what else is there to do here?"

Her confusion and astonishment in her eyes only further irritated Lu Moqing.

"Can’t you just... just stay a little longer?"

As he said this, his face looked especially awkward and uncomfortable.

"No, I’m in a hurry."

Without even thinking, Qiao Xu refused.

She got up from the sofa, walked to the desk, picked up her bag, and headed for the door, only to be quickly stopped by Lu Moqing.

"Xuxu!"

Qiao Xu stopped abruptly.

Lu Moqing had never called her with such a tone before. She thought she had gotten used to his coldness, but in that moment, when he suddenly called her name like that, she could still clearly feel the dull pain in her heart.

She stood with her back to Lu Moqing, gripping her bag tightly. She didn’t turn around, but simply asked, "Is there anything else?"
