Qiao Xu’s heart trembled subconsciously. When he helped her fasten her seatbelt, she averted her gaze and said indifferently, "Thank you."

Her tone was stiff, her expression somewhat unnatural. She didn’t look at Lu Moqing again. Surprisingly, it was Lu Moqing who raised his eyebrows at her unexpectedly polite gratitude. He glanced at her downcast eyes and covered his slightly upturned lips with one hand.

By the time Lu Moqing brought Qiao Xu back home, Qiao Yi had been picked up by Lin Yuan.

Hearing the sound of the fingerprint lock unlocking, the young nanny Lin Yuan poked her head out of the kitchen to greet them and immediately saw the tall and handsome figure supporting Qiao Xu.

Qiao Xu frowned at Lin Yuan’s enthusiasm and said, "Xiao Lin."

Noticing Qiao Xu’s displeasure in her tone, Lin Yuan hesitated and quickly explained, "Madam, I saw that Mr. Lu came back with you, so I thought I’d ask if he needs an extra portion. What do you think...?"

Qiao Xu’s gaze lingered on Lin Yuan for a few seconds, seemingly thoughtful. Then she look away indifferently and said, "Mr. Lu was merely being helpful by sending me home. He won’t be eating here."

Lin Yuan couldn’t hide the disappointment in her eyes. She glanced apologetically at the inscrutable Lu Moqing, as if to say she wanted to invite him to stay, but Qiao Xu wouldn’t allow it, and there was nothing she could do about it.
