Qiao Xu’s voice brought the young nanny back to her senses, and she shook her head, "No, I need to prepare for my graduation thesis later."

The young nanny, Lin Yuan, was a soon-to-graduate college student. Since most of her coursework was finished and this semester was not busy, she had come out to find a job due to urgent financial needs of her family.

Qiao Xu happened to be busy with work and wanted to find a good, careful, and forward-thinking nanny to take care of Qiao Yi.

She went to the nanny agency and saw Lin Yuan, who was interviewing for the job. Seeing that the young lady was pretty and a young college student, she hired her to take care of Qiao Yi.

Qiao Xu wasn’t a strict and demanding employer. Moreover, she was only two years older than Lin Yuan, so their age gap was small, and they could chat easily. Qiao Xu gave Lin Yuan lots of freedom, as long as she could take good care of Qiao Yi.

Qiao Xu glanced at Lin Yuan’s delicate makeup and smiled, not thinking much about it.

Upon hearing this, Lin Yuan’s eyes flashed with a hint of guilt, but she appeared natural and said, "Once I graduate and start working, I need to pay attention to my image. I was just practicing doing makeup in my room since I had nothing else to do."

Qiao Xu didn’t think much of it, nodded her head, gave Lin Yuan some instructions, and went to the study room.

Seeing that Qiao Xu didn’t suspect anything, Lin Yuan breathed a sigh of relief, secretly patted her chest, and felt that it had been a close call.

In the blink of an eye, several days passed, and Lu Moqing didn’t appear again, allowing Qiao Xu’s hanging heart to settle down reluctantly.

Later, she received a call from Xia Yumo, saying that the Court had suppressed their divorce case, claiming that there were too many cases to be judged, and they didn’t know when they could set a trial date.

Qiao Xu didn’t need to guess to know that it was Lu Moqing’s doing. She gritted her teeth and mentally cursed him a lot, but there was nothing else she could do.

Today was Mid-Autumn, a day for families to come together. Qiao Xu gave Lin Yuan a day off and took Qiao Yi to Lin Family’s house for the festival. After eating dinner and watching the Mid-Autumn Gala with the Lin family’s elders for a few hours, Qiao Xu prepared to go home.

When they were halfway home, the sky, which had been bright with moonlight, suddenly darkened as the moon hid behind the clouds, and it began to rain without warning.

Qiao Xu’s parking space was an open-air one. By the time she drove into the community, the rain had not only failed to weaken, but it had also grown stronger.

Braving the rain, she took an umbrella from the trunk; one hand held the umbrella, while the other carried Qiao Yi out of the car.

The rain, whipped by the wind, made it difficult for Qiao Xu to hold Qiao Yi.

Three-year-old Qiao Yi was taller and stronger than children his age. Qiao Xu, who had to hold him and the umbrella, was struggling to prevent the umbrella from being blown away while also shielding the sleeping Qiao Yi from the rain. She was clearly having trouble.
