Chapter 111: 111. Heartless men are even worse

Seeing Qiao Xu struggling in his arms to get down, Lu Moqing frowned and looked at Gu Junhang, who was also holding onto Xia Yumo tightly. He said in a deep voice, "Is she leading Qiao Xu astray?"

"Why don’t you say it’s your wife leading her astray?"

"Qiao Xu is not that kind of person."

Hearing Xia Yumo trying to brainwash Qiao Xu this way, Lu Moqing really wanted to knock her out with a punch. He couldn’t let a person like Xia Yumo stay with Qiao Xu any longer.

"So, is Mo Mo that kind of person now?"

Gu Junhang raised his eyebrows defensively, and a hint of dissatisfaction appeared on his handsome face.

Lu Moqing didn’t bother arguing with him. He carried the noisy woman in his arms out of the bar and made a call for Jiang Hao to deal with the bar affairs.

As Lu Moqing carried Qiao Xu out of the bar, she kept yelling, "Mo Mo, you’re right. Men are all no-good..."

In the season when summer turned to autumn, the evening breeze brought some coolness. Qiao Xu’s pores opened wide due to the alcohol, and she instinctively curled up in Lu Moqing’s embrace, trying to find some warmth.

Noticing her intention, Lu Moqing glanced down at the woman in his arms. Qiao Xu’s eyes were half-closed, her expression hazy with drunkenness. Lu Moqing couldn’t help but smile slightly at the corner of his lips.

"Mo Mo, compared to heartless men, men without hearts are even worse..."

Qiao Xu’s voice was hoarse. At first, she kept repeating phrases like "Men are all no-good" while this sentence was just a drunken murmur.

But when Lu Moqing heard it, he couldn’t help but pause. His heart ached as if it had been pricked by a needle.

He looked down at the woman in his arms, her lips moving up and down as she continued to whisper those phrases softly.

Her eyes were closed, and her long eyelashes created a fan-shaped halo under her eyes, with her cheeks flushed crimson from the alcohol.

The slender body curled up in his arms because of the cold made her look different from the sharp person he knew before. Instead, she looked like an obedient child, making his heart ache.

Lu Moqing’s gaze lingered on her face for a moment, and he tightened his hold on her slightly as he walked quickly towards his car.

He opened the car door, laid Qiao Xu in the passenger seat, reclined the seat back, and covered her with his coat. It was a series of careful actions he hadn’t even realized he was doing.

After that, he got in the car, glanced at the woman sleeping peacefully in the seat, and his lips curved slightly. He bent down to fasten her seatbelt, and then drove home.

"Mo Qing, what kind of woman are you carrying into the house? ...Qiao Xu!"

Upon seeing Lu Moqing carrying a drunken woman into the house, Grandma Lu’s face darkened in anger.

She almost ordered someone to remove the woman, but when she got a clear look at the face hidden by the black hair, she exclaimed in surprise. The original anger on her face turned into joy.

With bright eyes, she gazed at her grandson and asked, "How did you bring Qiao Xu back?"

Lu Moqing could see the excitement in his grandmother’s eyes, but right now he didn’t have the energy to explain. He said to the maid standing in the hall, "Aunt Zhang, bring the hangover soup when it’s ready."

"Yes, young master."

"Grandma, I’ll take Qiao Xu upstairs first."
