Chapter 36: 36.

Ethan paced in the study, his fists clenched tightly at his sides. His mind buzzed with thoughts of Adrian—his pale face, the tremble in his voice when he recounted the kidnapping. The mere idea that Lady Sachel and Anshi had dared to lay a hand on his beloved wife filled him with a rage he had never known before. His patience was worn thin, and the time for passivity was over.

Leclair sat nearby, calmly watching his younger brother, his wheelchair pulled up beside the large oak desk. Despite his outward calm, there was a certain intensity in his gaze that matched Ethan’s fury. Across from him was Augustin, Leclair’s enigmatic and quiet husband, his fingers dancing across the keys of his laptop.

"They’ll pay," Ethan muttered under his breath, his voice low but filled with venom. "Both of them. They’ll wish they never crossed us."

Leclair tilted his head, a smirk tugging at the corners of his lips. "Well, little brother, it seems the time has come to teach them a lesson."

Augustin glanced up from his laptop, his brow furrowed in concentration. "I’ve been monitoring Anshi’s digital footprint for days now. His guard is down. He thinks he’s safe. But I found something interesting—chats with his boyfriend abroad."

Ethan’s eyes flickered with interest, his lips pressing into a thin line. "Boyfriend abroad? Does he even care about Adrian at all?"

"Apparently not," Augustin murmured. "He’s been chatting with this boyfriend, making plans to escape the country. They’ve been discussing funds and resources."

Leclair leaned forward slightly, his tone dry but satisfied. "So, he’s been plotting his way out while playing the role of a loyal lackey for Lady Sachel. How convenient."

"Disgusting," Ethan spat. "We’ll expose him for the fraud he is. Let everyone see the truth."

Augustin’s fingers resumed their dance across the keys, pulling up files, chats, and videos with alarming efficiency. His expertise in the dark web had earned him a certain reputation—one that no one dared to challenge. He was a silent force, the type of man who wielded power behind the scenes. And now, he was doing it for Ethan and Adrian.

"I’ve already cloned his phone," Augustin said quietly. "With the evidence I’ve gathered, we can make his entire life implode in less than an hour. His boyfriend’s messages, their private exchanges, everything... I can leak it all."

Leclair’s smirk widened. "Anshi won’t know what hit him. But let’s make sure we time this right. First, we take down Lady Sachel. Then, we’ll deal with Anshi."

Ethan nodded, his jaw tight as he thought of Lady Sachel. She had always held a dangerous influence in high society, her connections vast and her reputation impeccable. But now, Ethan had something that could shatter that pristine image—a series of incriminating videos showing her behavior behind closed doors, particularly her drunken exploits with some male idols she frequently supported.

"She’s built her image on purity, on her ’righteous’ position in high society," Ethan said, his voice growing colder. "But the videos Augustin found show her drinking, getting handsy with those young idols. We’ll leak it strategically, right when her influence is at its peak."

Leclair tapped his fingers on the desk. "Lady Sachel’s world will crumble around her, and her allies will scatter. Her empire of lies will collapse."

Ethan’s lips curled into a predatory smile. "She wanted to hurt Adrian, to tear him apart. Now, I’ll destroy her."

As they solidified their plan, Ethan couldn’t help but feel a strange sense of satisfaction. He wasn’t a man prone to cruelty, but for Adrian—for the one person who made his heart beat with a fierce love—he was willing to become as ruthless as needed.

Later that evening, the plan was set in motion. Augustin hacked into Anshi’s phone with chilling ease, retrieving every conversation and transferring them to a secure server. His fingers moved with surgical precision, a silent promise of destruction to come.

"Anshi will wake up to a nightmare," Augustin murmured, his eyes focused on the screen. "I’ve scheduled the leaks. By morning, his private chats will be all over the internet."

Ethan stood behind Augustin, his arms crossed, watching as the pieces of their plan fell into place. "And Lady Sachel?"

"Her videos are next," Augustin replied, pulling up the incriminating footage. The grainy images showed her at private parties, drunk and unruly, with male idols surrounding her. She had always portrayed herself as untouchable, but this footage would reveal her true nature.

Ethan smirked. "Perfect. Let her taste the humiliation she tried to inflict on Adrian."

Leclair, who had been listening quietly, finally spoke up. "Ethan, you’ve come a long way."

Ethan looked at his older brother, surprised by the compliment. "I’m just doing what needs to be done."

Leclair chuckled, rolling his wheelchair closer. "It’s more than that. You’re making sure that no one, not even these high-society elites, can ever hurt your family again. It takes a certain kind of resolve to protect the ones you love like this."

Ethan’s gaze softened, though the fire in his eyes didn’t dim. "Adrian deserves to feel safe. He deserves peace after everything he’s been through."

Augustin, having finished his work, closed his laptop and leaned back in his chair. "The leaks are ready. Now, we wait."

The following morning, the internet exploded.

Screens across the country were flooded with headlines: "Lady Sachel’s Scandalous Private Life Exposed!" and "Anshi’s Secret Boyfriend Revealed—Chats Leak Online!" The news spread like wildfire, and by mid-morning, both Lady Sachel and Anshi were the talk of every social circle.

Anshi was a Painter himself with a high and genius reputation. So his news spread more rapidly among young people.

Ethan, sitting with Adrian in the living room, scrolled through his phone, watching as the pieces of their carefully crafted plan fell into place. The world was seeing the truth, and there was no turning back for Lady Sachel and Anshi.

Adrian, who was still recovering from the stress of the kidnapping, glanced up from the couch. "What’s going on?"

Ethan smiled, leaning over to kiss the top of Adrian’s head. "Just handling some business, love. Nothing for you to worry about."

Adrian gave him a curious look but didn’t press further.

Later that day, Ethan met with Leclair and Augustin in the study again, this time with a sense of finality hanging in the air.

"It’s done," Augustin said, his voice calm but confident. "Lady Sachel’s reputation is in shambles. Her supporters are abandoning her, and her influence in high society is crumbling as we speak."

Leclair smirked. "And Anshi?"

"His secret relationship is all over the internet," Augustin replied. "His reputation is beyond repair."

Ethan sat back in his chair, feeling a strange sense of satisfaction wash over him. "Good. They deserve every bit of what’s coming to them."

Leclair looked at Ethan with a proud gleam in his eyes. "You’ve shown them what happens when they mess with a Levistis."

Ethan’s lips curved into a small, satisfied smile. "No one will ever threaten my family again."

As night fell, Ethan returned to Adrian, pulling him into a gentle embrace as they lay together in bed. Adrian looked up at him, his eyes filled with love and trust.

"Is everything okay now?" Adrian asked softly, his voice laced with the lingering worries that still haunted him.

Ethan kissed his forehead, his arms tightening around him. "Everything’s going to be fine, Adrian. I promise."

Adrian smiled, resting his head on Ethan’s chest. "As long as I have you, I know it will be."

Ethan closed his eyes, holding Adrian close.
