Chapter 894: Chapter 894: The Giant Lifts the Coffin

Six black giants, each over five meters tall, stared at the nine ferocious ghost dragons, the atmosphere murderous and oppressive, as if thick clouds were pressing down from the sky.

Normally, black giants and the nine ghost dragons were equally matched, but now the balance of victory had tilted toward the six black giants. Flecks of shadow appeared around the black giants, adding a touch of mystery to them, and the battle was about to erupt.

Wen Wen picked up a watermelon and threw it between the two sides. At the moment it shattered, the ghost dragons and black giants simultaneously moved into action.

Shadows clashed with flames, the energy ripples sweeping across everything, shattering all the glass in the Muyuan Community simultaneously, but as they reached Wen Wen’s trio, they were blocked by a thin ice wall.

The Chou Hotang trio each used their skills to disrupt the ghost dragons’ attacks and movements while the White Fog Strong Man swung his great sword indiscriminately.

After the six black giants gathered, the battle quickly became one-sided. One ghost dragon, caught off guard, failed to dodge a punch aimed at its throat by a black giant, and then had its jaws grabbed and was brutally ripped in half.

Witnessing this horrific scene, the remaining eight ghost dragons not only failed to show fear but burned with rage, their assaults even more ferocious.

But real battles aren’t like those in shonen manga; rage doesn’t enhance combat strength. As they were grabbed, instead of avenging their comrades, their reckless aggression led to two more ghost dragons being grievously wounded.

The battle, which could still hold on initially, now totally collapsed, defeat unfolding like a landslide, and within a few short minutes, three more ghost dragons met their end at the hands of the black giants.

The remaining five ghost dragons were about to explode in anger, always the ones attacking others, yet this time beaten unexpectedly.

Just as the five ghost dragons were about to give in, Wen Wen whistled.

Upon hearing the whistle, the Chou Hotang trio and the White Fog Strong Man suddenly turned their aggression toward the black giants they’d been fighting alongside, delivering a surprise backstab.

Waves of hair entangled one black giant tightly, while the drunkard leaped onto the giant’s head, punching its skull repeatedly, and the white secondhand smoke transformed into venomous snakes, continuously trying to penetrate the black giant’s body.

The White Fog Strong Man visibly prepared to stab downward with the great sword on the black giant that was now tagged.

If successful, this move would immediately take out one black giant, but just then, an accident occurred.

An energy column, vaguely flashing with shadow, struck the White Fog Strong Man, causing his body to rapidly disappear; the damage reached such an extent that recovery would likely take a while.

Without the White Fog Strong Man’s follow-up, the Chou Hotang trio were promptly thrown off by the black giant, and had Wen Wen not timely gathered them, the three would have been doomed.

Wen Wen looked toward the direction from which the energy column came, spotting a black giant wearing a white pointed hat and draped in a colorful sash, swaggering toward the battlefield.

This black giant was slightly larger than the others, and the energy waves around it were stronger.

Wen Wen discarded the watermelon rind in his hand: "So there is a seventh black giant, huh... seems my plan to profit from the chaos was a bit naïve."

The White Hat Black Giant glanced at Wen Wen: "You’re a Demon Hunter, right? Thinking you’d watch us tear each other apart — you’re too hopeful."

"You humans love to act clever, but this time I should really thank you. Without you, we wouldn’t have found such a good opportunity."

"Tch, the last one can talk." Wen Wen’s focus was oddly placed.

The White Hat Black Giant paused, then sternly said: "Human, I’m doing you a favor—don’t interfere anymore. We are here to resolve the threats in this place, and at least on this matter, we’re aligned."

The White Hat Black Giant was quite wary of Wen Wen. Its prowess had touched the edge of the True Sequence, just a step away from that realm, yet had no assurance of defeating Wen Wen.

According to its estimation, at least four of the seven were needed together to contend with Wen Wen, and only all seven together could repel him — trying to kill him was virtually impossible. So, unless necessary, it didn’t want conflict with Wen Wen.

"Looks like we’re comrades, then. Well, I’ll hold off for now." Wen Wen seemed to believe its words, shrugged, indicating he didn’t want to interfere.

The White Hat Black Giant sighed with relief; as long as Wen Wen didn’t intervene, the coffin was surely theirs.

The remaining six black giants started to aggressively pursue the surviving ghost dragons, quickly slaughtering four of them one by one, leaving their chains behind.

The last ghost dragon whimpered, trembling as if wanting to flee, but the Bronze Coffin Casket was incredibly heavy, and relying on it alone was hopeless.

Seeing the cowardice of this ghost dragon, Wen Wen’s eyes flashed with an unusual color, and the Blood River Sword came out of the sheath, a virtual image of a crimson river emerging around him.

Next, with a slight touch of his toes, like a black arrow, he landed before the ghost dragon, both hands grasping the sword hilt and fiercely swinging down.

All of Wen Wen’s strength poured into the Blood River Sword, and no matter how hard the chains were, they were all severed with one slash.

After the chains were cut, the ghost dragon was overjoyed, trying to escape immediately, but the chains were firmly held by Wen Wen, unable to break free despite digging grooves in the ground.

"Didn’t you agree not to meddle in this?"

The White Hat Black Giant shouted at Wen Wen sternly, its empty face suddenly turning extremely terrifying.

Wen Wen waved his hand: "Don’t be so fierce, kids next door are crying because of you. I just want a ride."

Upon hearing the word "ride," the ghost dragon wanted to flee, having dragged a coffin for who knows how many years; it didn’t want to be a ride anymore.

But Wen Wen mercilessly kicked it twice, breaking several bones, making it quiet down finally, apparently resigning to its fate.

This ghost dragon was originally the most cowardly among the nine; otherwise, it wouldn’t have survived to the last.

While other ghost dragons were around, it might flaunt a fierce aura, but left alone, it showed its inner timidity.

The White Hat Black Giant suspiciously eyed Wen Wen, unsure whether this smirking expression, very punchable face individual was genuinely only after a ride, or looking to cause trouble.

But since there’s no ghost dragon to pull the coffin, whatever Wen Wen’s thoughts were, didn’t matter anymore.

Together, they could suppress an ordinary True Sequence; Wen Wen was already unable to stop them from taking the coffin away.

Thus, Great Elder Hei to Sixth Elder Hei gathered as the six black giants positioned themselves beside the Bronze Ancient Coffin, lifting it up.
