Chapter 891: 9 Ghost Dragons
Chapter 891: Chapter 891: 9 Ghost Dragons
Without the pollution brought by industrialization, the stars in the Land of Slumber seem much brighter than those outside.
Wen Wen looked up at the sky, and the more he looked, the more he felt that there was a dense area of stardust in the starry river, resembling a fearful giant eye.
But the more he looked at it, the less he cared. After all, even if that thing really was an eye, it had nothing to do with him, Detective Wen.
He casually kicked and sent Seventh Master Tian’s head flying, like a splattered tomato hitting the wall and then sliding down.
Outside, Seventh Master Tian relied on the Slumber Mist to have a nearly immortal body, but here he was just a slightly stronger ghost being, so Wen Wen easily killed him completely.
Then Wen Wen checked the time. The Ghost Dragon appears every night at Zi Hour, which is from 11 PM to 1 AM. The time was almost there, and it was time for action elsewhere, so he couldn’t waste more time here.
Thus Wen Wen gently floated up, flying towards the main road of the Land of Slumber, where the Ghost Dragon would appear.
...
Seeing that the time was about right, Fohai raised his straight eyebrows and then jumped in front of the black giant, shouting loudly.
"I can tell at a glance that you’re not human!"
The black giant looked at Fohai with a gaze as if looking at a lunatic; after all, it wasn’t human.
"Great Wei Tianlong, Great Luo Spell..."
Fohai lifted a toy car and smashed it directly onto the black giant’s head, causing it to crash into a nearby small shop, killing the shop owner’s family.
The black giant stood up, glaring fiercely at Fohai, then quickly chased Xu Hai to kill him.
It and Fohai both had Upper Sequence level combat power, but the black giant was among the top, just a step away from the True Sequence. Not even Wen Wen had confidence in defeating several black giants at once.
Fohai was relatively moderate; he had no power to fight back against the black giant, but he didn’t need to confront it directly, just lure it to a certain place.
On the other end of the Land of Slumber, Tao Qingqing gave a signal to the white fog-formed strong man beside her, who then stupidly ran to the black giant, jumped up, and slashed at its knee.
The black giant angrily punched straight through the strong man, armor and all, but the strong man, with a large hole in his chest, ran quickly towards the main road as if nothing had happened.
As expected, the black giant chased after the white fog strong man. Following alongside, Tao Qingqing breathed a sigh of relief while carrying the Human-Headed Dog and also quickly followed.
The Muyuan Community was neither small nor large, and once they started luring monsters, it wouldn’t take more than two minutes to reach the main road.
Wen Wen sat in front of a fruit stand, using his Ice Ability to chill a watermelon, waiting for the appearance of the Ghost Dragon.
He was very curious about the difference between this so-called Ghost Dragon and the Catastrophic Dragon he encountered in the Qi Ling Mountain Range.
With a chaotic roar, something seemed to open at the end of the road, and then a ferocious dragon head emerged from the void.
This dragon head was like skin and bones, without flesh, only savage scales and whiskers, devoid of the majesty a Dragon Kind should have, leaving only a sinister and eerie feeling.
Then came its tattered dragon body. If the dragon head had any dragon likeness, the dragon body was utterly pathetic.
Not to mention it had lost one claw; its body, over ten meters long, was missing claws, shedding scales, and even had parts revealing bones, with a tail missing a segment.
However, the blue-green flames burning on its body and its nearly tangible dragon might indicated that this Ghost Dragon possessed strength surpassing even that Catastrophic Dragon!
Wen Wen estimated that until he upgraded himself to Upper Sequence with True Sequence strength, he couldn’t defeat such a Ghost Dragon.
Following were the second, third... up to nine Ghost Dragons emerging from the void, adding pressure to Wen Wen’s heart, causing him to munch on a couple more watermelon slices.
He reckoned if he fought these beasts alone, without using unconventional methods, five or six of them together could draw with him. Although nine at once couldn’t trap Wen Wen, he couldn’t win either.
Then came the harsh sound of metal scraping against the ground; a Bronze Coffin over ten meters long was pulled out by the nine dragons.
Lying inside this coffin should be the Northern Yin Emperor Luo Feng, judging by the faint energy wave emanating from it. If he could emerge, Wen Wen might not be his match, hence Wen Wen’s strategy of reaping the profits while the stork and clam struggle.
The Ghost Dragons let out several cries, and the ghost kind residing near the main road fled their nests like startled wild beasts, distancing themselves from the Ghost Dragons’ range.
Unlike the relatively gentle black giants, any creatures discovered by these Ghost Dragons would be attacked.
Wen Wen, eating watermelon nonchalantly on this bare main road, was indeed quite conspicuous.
However, the Ghost Dragons did not notice Wen Wen but focused in another direction, where a strong man with a hollow body and carrying a giant sword was running towards them, attempting to jump up and cut the bronze chains off the Ghost Dragon.
But just as he leaped, five streams of blue-green dragon flames spewed towards him, disintegrating his body, sending the remaining flames toward a black giant with long limbs wearing a suit behind him.
The giant’s joints twisted, agilely climbing in a blink to the window of another building.
The flames engulfed the spot where the giant had been, swiftly melting the entire building.
Watching from afar, Tao Qingqing patted her chest, grateful for not being too close; otherwise, she might’ve been directly caught in the aftereffects.
After dodging the attack, the black giant intended to leave immediately but soon saw another of its brothers furiously charging forward.
That brother was chasing a disheveled monk who was annoyingly tossing things behind him as he ran.
Since these black giants looked identical, they referred to the first as Great Elder Hei and naturally the second as Second Old Black.
Second Old Black was usually laid-back, and if not for the car being flung, it wouldn’t have chased this far. Now, seeing its elder brother and those pesky long creatures there, it realized someone wanted to instigate a fight between their brothers and the Ghost Dragons.
Hence, Second Old Black quickly halted, intending to withdraw, but at that moment, Wen Wen, who had been munching watermelon, appeared behind it.
Black chains entwined its limbs, and an irresistible force from the chains flung it towards the Ghost Dragons.
"Off you go!"
The Ghost Dragons, uninterested in Second Old Black’s intentions, directly spewed a breath of flame.
Anyone blocking their path was their enemy.
Casual or not, we Nine Ghost Dragons only wish to destroy everyone here or be destroyed by them!
