Chapter 883: Chapter 883: No One Will Save You
Unable to reach Wen Wen, Tao Qingqing could only try to survive in this space.
During the day, this place was relatively peaceful; few supernatural creatures roamed about, only some seemingly normal people appeared.
After capturing one for questioning, Tao Qingqing learned that most of those who appeared during the day were outsiders like her who stayed overnight in Muyuan District, some have been here for ten or eight years.
During the day, Muyuan Community would replicate the outside world, even markets with fruits and vegetables and home-cooked meals would be replicated, so these people would not starve.
However, after understanding the situation, Tao Qingqing did not entangle with these people. Despite appearing ordinary upon arrival, long-term stay twisted their minds. If she hadn’t used force, she wouldn’t have extracted any information from them.
Taking advantage of the day, she went to the town’s borders, only to find the original walls reduced to nothingness, no matter how much effort she exerted, she couldn’t break through this void to reach the outside world.
And at night, the place turned dangerous; the residents that vanished during the day would reappear.
But these residents were not human, they became vicious, bloodthirsty ghostly creatures!
These ghost beings weren’t powerful; Tao Qingqing could fight ten, even twenty. But the number of ghosts in the whole city was far more than ten or twenty!
Moreover, among these community residents, there were several special existences with similar, even stronger power than Tao Qingqing!
Like the community director, the security officer, the supermarket owner...
These original townsfolk weren’t truly dangerous; though they were ghostly beings, they understood weighing pros and cons. As long as Tao Qingqing did not provoke them, they wouldn’t attack her.
But within this community, some special ghostly kinds, stronger than the ordinary townsfolk, would hunt those who could walk during the day every night, including Tao Qingqing.
But, these ghostly kinds responsible for hunting her weren’t the greatest threat here.
Tao Qingqing had heard strange beast roars at night and the sound of giant metal chunks scraping the ground.
All the ghostly creatures would flee in panic from that sound, and she also tried to stay as far away as possible when the sound appeared, having no inclination to find out what was there.
Just the roar alone instilled fear in her heart, actually witnessing it might lead to instant demise; she wouldn’t take that risk.
Additionally, she saw from afar giants five meters tall, with long limbs and ghostly pale faces, slowly walking or crawling between buildings; though they hadn’t attacked her, they frightened her as much as the strange beast roars.
And this was just what she observed; nobody knew what terrifying existences were hidden within this small Muyuan Community.
Compared to those things, the Oudenite seen that day couldn’t be considered a minor character, at most a medium one.
She tried all survival methods she could find, but no way to leave this place.
Now, the only glimmer of hope was Wen Wen rescuing her; the situation over at Qing Ridge Plateau was resolved before she arrived, Wen Wen could return at any moment.
But officially, she was Wen Wen’s assistant, practically just a captive, having a status not much higher than the Three Cubs. Would Wen Wen really come to save her?
Tao Qingqing held a skeptical attitude about this but deeply hoped that Wen Wen would appear immediately.
Thus, she uneasily plucked the poor cactus, but since everything here was replicated from the outside, the cactus would return to its original state the next day.
Sighing long, Tao Qingqing felt goosebumps arise on her arm, a tinge of blood appeared in her eyes.
She heard some footsteps; not Wen Wen’s footsteps she hoped for, but from something else.
...Ghost!
For the past two days, ghosts had been chasing him, but before there were at most a few fierce spirits, or one evil ghost.
But now, the footsteps outside the door came from three evil ghosts, three disaster-level monsters!
Judging from the strength comparison, this time’s chance of survival was slim, but Tao Qingqing wouldn’t sit idle, so she immediately jumped out the window, landing on the street.
Most ghostly monsters possessed the ability to traverse through objects, so fighting them in wide-open spaces was wise.
The moment she landed, she saw a spiral stream of water pass through where she had been, losing momentum only after flying out dozens of meters and landing.
If her movement had been one second late, she’d have been hit by that stream, the consequences likely not pleasant.
After landing, she didn’t pause at all, she lunged forward, rolled several times and stopped; scissors capable of clipping off heads closed on her previous position, chasing a few more times but never touching a hair of Tao Qingqing.
Tao Qingqing steadied her stance, her expression serious, as she looked at the two evil ghosts that had appeared.
One evil ghost stood at the window, its body pale and bloated; its eyelids’ flesh was gouged out to avoid being blocked by swollen flesh. Beside it floated a muddy water whirlpool with a shampoo scent; that spiral water flow had been released from its hand.
Another evil ghost stood where Tao Qingqing landed, its body lean and skinny with a head of shiny, black cow dung hair; its right hand detached from the wrist and connected to a rusty pair of gigantic scissors, its left holding a large iron comb.
Tao Qingqing bared her fangs at these two evil ghosts as a threat, while revealing energy composed of blood to form bat wings, countless small bats flew freely around her, making it hard for the pursuing ghosts to see her clearly.
She did not relax her vigilance; coming to hunt her this time was not only the two before her; she had heard three sets of footsteps before!
"Hey, you’re causing me trouble again."
A hand clapped Tao Qingqing’s shoulder, sending chills down her spine, she clawed directly behind her but her hand was easily caught.
The one who grabbed her hand was Wen Wen.
Just from those small eyes and that face annoying enough to play a villain in dramas, she could confirm the person before her was Wen Wen himself.
Wen Wen grinned cheekily and said, "Even if we haven’t seen each other for a few days, you don’t have to miss me so much."
Tao Qingqing was stunned for two seconds, then blinked rapidly, resisting the urge to cry; just now she really thought she would die here.
"I really, very..."
She wrote her smile onto her face like a blossoming flower, leaning forward ready to dive into Wen Wen’s arms.
But her feeling of being moved lasted only a second before fading away.
Wen Wen held her hand with one and chopped lightly but repeatedly on her head with the other, threateningly said:
"Your actions this time are practically suicidal, I must properly punish you. Once no one’s around, you’ll be in for it; even if you scream at the top of your lungs, no one will save you."
Tao Qingqing’s smile instantly vanished, this guy’s skill at ruining atmosphere must be master-level.
But soon she snickered; if Wen Wen ever turned into a caring gentleman, that’d be abnormal...
