Chapter 807: Assassinating Da Shan

Chapter 807: Chapter 807: Assassinating Da Shan

Lu Qiyou climbed onto a bag of grain and said from above, "Friends, abandon those impractical illusions, for there is only one path left for us."

"I have already destroyed the granary doors. In an hour, monks will come down to get the grain. How do you think they will treat us then?"

A rough-skinned man spoke, "But if Master Da Shan is dead, then there’s no one left to stop the monsters."

Lu Qiyou said confidently, "I’ve observed the places the monsters might attack. It’s only the entrance we came through. As long as we completely seal it, no more monsters will get in."

"Without those monks, the remaining grain here will allow us to sustain ourselves longer through this disaster."

Lu Qiyou and the others fell into a dispute. Some thought they shouldn’t attack the monks, others simply believed they couldn’t defeat Da Shan, while some supported Lu Qiyou’s perspective.

Amid the chaotic debates, Su Nuo carefully placed Qin Shuhe’s body in place, then stood up, glaring at the crowd with reddened eyes.

"I don’t care what you think, but I’m definitely going to avenge Shu He. Do you want to end up like her?"

With that, Su Nuo drew his gun and started heading upstairs. He still had three bullets, and with luck, might kill Da Shan, since Da Shan wasn’t like those monsters with an immortal body.

Lu Qiyou grabbed Su Nuo and stuffed a long horn into his hand, saying, "I’ll go with you. Also, you were in the army, you’re stronger than me, so it’s best you use this."

If the arguing continued, it might take hours to reach a conclusion.

But with Su Nuo taking the lead, a few men casually picked up things as weapons and followed behind him, while others hesitated a moment before joining too.

When the group found Master Da Shan, he was meditating in his quiet room.

He belonged to the Ascetic Sect of the Ming Dynasty Esoteric Buddhism and spent most of the day practicing, and today was no exception.

Chan Buddhism, Ascetic, and Hehuan are the three major sects of Ming Dynasty Esoteric Buddhism.

Chan Buddhism is the regular esoteric monks, while the Hehuan Sect is generally shunned by everyone, and the Ascetic Sect has the fewest members, due to the extreme difficulty of their training.

No gourmet food, rupture of fine clothes, no pleasure, sleeping on nails, swallowing fire stones...

If the heart is not sincere enough, or without the proper aptitude, there’s a risk of sudden death halfway through the training.

Though few in number, each true ascetic monk is respected within the Esoteric Sect, not only because of their devotion but also for their strength!

The bodies of ascetic monks show a metallic sheen.

Their bodies are tougher than steel and extremely powerful, comparable to superpower users with just their physical bodies.

More terrifying is their extremely strong willpower; even when seriously injured, they can continue to fight and won’t be deceived by tricks and illusions.

On the Qing Ridge Plateau, the ascetic monks are the main force driving out monsters.

The Hunter Association and Ming Dynasty Esoteric Buddhism have long made agreements, so usually, there aren’t many Demon Hunters on the Qing Ridge Plateau, relying entirely on the Ascetic Sect monks to maintain peace.

Su Nuo kicked open the quiet room’s door aggressively, leading a group of people into Master Da Shan’s retreat.

A younger monk tried to push the crowd out, but he was easily subdued by Lu Qiyou and the others.

Master Da Shan spoke calmly, "What are you here to do?"

"My fiancée’s body is in your dungeon; did you do this?"

Da Shan sighed lightly, "I didn’t expect you to find out so quickly... She is no longer your fiancée. I did it to protect you."

Seeing Da Shan’s expressionless face, Su Nuo was stunned; he didn’t expect Da Shan to admit it so easily.

Then Su Nuo’s expression twisted; he was so angry that he almost lost his reason, pressing the gun against Da Shan’s head.

"Then smashing your head is for your own good too!"

Without hesitation, he fired, but after three shots, only insignificant white marks appeared on Da Shan’s head.

Da Shan shook his head, "Everything is possible now on the Qing Ridge Plateau. You all should go back. I will give you an explanation."

"Go back, my ass!"

Su Nuo, holding the black long horn, thrust it at Da Shan but Da Shan easily grasped Su Nuo’s hand.

"You should stay calm. Sometimes what your eyes see may not be true..."

Before Da Shan finished speaking, Lu Qiyou suddenly stepped forward, kicking Su Nuo’s arm.

The unanticipated force broke Su Nuo’s arm, and the long horn was driven straight into Da Shan’s chest.

Da Shan instinctively hardened his body, causing the long horn to shatter, but inside the horn was a scalpel glowing with a faint purple light!

Once the scalpel entered Da Shan’s body, the wound immediately began to rot!

Da Shan looked at Lu Qiyou in disbelief, "So you are also..."

Another monk, serving by Da Shan’s side, changed his expression dramatically seeing this scene.

He hurriedly rushed towards Da Shan, but before he could act, Lu Qiyou struck his neck with an elbow, sending him flying backwards.

Upon hitting the ground, his neck was twisted and deformed, clearly beyond saving.

Lu Qiyou then squatted down, sneering at Da Shan.

Su Nuo, clutching his arm, looked at Lu Qiyou in horror. With such strength, why did he need Su Nuo to attack Da Shan?

Lu Qiyou leaned close to Da Shan’s ear and whispered, "You old fool, your instincts are too strong. If it were me showing killing intent up close, you’d definitely sense it, so I sent him to attack you. Seems it worked quite well."

"Even though I could’ve killed him directly, where’s the fun in that..."

Although Su Nuo couldn’t hear Lu Qiyou’s words, he saw Lu Qiyou’s expression from the side, feeling a chill down his spine.

He instinctively glanced at Lu Qiyou’s neck, cold sweat instantly covering his back. On the back of Lu Qiyou’s neck was a bow made of thread...

Just like the thread bow on the back of Qin Shuhe’s neck.

Enduring the intense pain in his arm, Su Nuo slowly retreated.

He suddenly realized why Lu Qiyou was so enthusiastic that day.

Everything had been orchestrated by Lu Qiyou; he and Qin Shuhe’s lives were merely pawns in his game.

Fortunately, Lu Qiyou was merely whispering to Master Da Shan and didn’t intend to stop Su Nuo. This allowed Su Nuo to gradually withdraw from the quiet room’s confines.

Suddenly, Su Nuo rubbed his eyes, as if experiencing an illusion, for Qin Shuhe was standing right in front of him, looking at him gently.

Su Nuo couldn’t help but walk towards Qin Shuhe, tears streaming from the corners of his eyes.

As long as Qin Shuhe lived, he could face any hardship with her.

But hadn’t she already died?!
