Chapter 675: Chapter 665: Blood Clan Attack

After all the dishes were served, Wen Wen found that only the fish and chips were palatable, while Tao Qingqing seemed interested in the black pudding, which they didn’t know was made with what kind of blood.

Thus, for the other dishes, both Wen Wen and Tao Qingqing discreetly shoved them under the table. Since most of the patrons of this restaurant were not human, no one came to accuse Wen Wen of insulting their dishes.

Although they were eating the dishes Wen Wen and others despised, Three Cubs was actually quite happy. This was the first time it had an expensive main course. Wen Wen could only pitifully eat the cheaper food, yet for this snake, those "dark" cuisines were not dark at all.

However, Wen Wen was not in the mood to care about the food. After finishing the last fry, he whispered to Tao Qingqing, "What do you think about this restaurant?"

Tao Qingqing knew that Wen Wen was testing her, so she coughed lightly and said, "First, the owner of the restaurant is a human, all the patrons are monsters, but all the dishes lack human ’ingredients’, so this restaurant might not be your target."

"The second point is that there are vampires watching over us from outside the window, and they are gazing at me frequently, probably targeting me..."

Wen Wen nodded. During the wait for their food, three vampires appeared nearby one after another and were also making phone calls, probably to contact other vampires. If nothing went wrong, their target should be Tao Qingqing.

Wen Wen wasn’t surprised that Tao Qingqing was a target for vampires at all, as Dr. Feng once said that Tao Qingqing would be a very special existence to vampires. If the upper echelons of the Blood Clan found out, they would definitely take action against her.

With its middle-aged lack of direct sunlight, Nim was highly suited for the survival of the Blood Clan, so it was normal for several vampires to show up here. However, simply strolling on the street had attracted their attention—such high efficiency in the vampires here.

"Why don’t we wait a bit longer? It’s only three small fries, I can hardly get excited. Let’s wait for the crowd to grow before taking them all down in one go, no matter how many come."

The number of vampires outside gradually increased, and soon two Disaster Lower Order members of the Blood Clan also arrived. If it weren’t for Wen Wen’s presence, such numbers would have been enough to deal with Tao Qingqing.

Two Lower Order, adding nearly twenty Disaster Level and Calamity Level Blood Clan members became quite a formidable force in any normal city of the Capital District. Yet, in the City of Mist, they were completely inconspicuous, akin to a regular gang.

When the gathering of the Blood Clan outside was complete, there were already no pedestrians nearby. Anyone who saw about twenty gang-like figures standing in front of the shop, displaying a tense stance, would instinctively avoid them.

Tao Qingqing stood up, stretched her limbs; although she hadn’t reached the Mid-Sequence Realm yet, she truly wasn’t afraid of those mobs outside.

Mr. Tings, the owner of the Dark Kitchen, wiped his hands and came over to say, "Lady, you need not worry about those hooligans outside. Your meal isn’t finished yet, you can wait to leave until after you’ve finished."

Tao Qingqing was stunned for a moment, then Wen Wen pulled her back down to sit and smiled, "Thank you very much indeed."

Then Mr. Tings opened the restaurant door and stepped out to address the vampires, "Friends of the Blood Clan, I wonder what brings you here with such a display."

The oldest of the vampires at the front pointed at Tao Qingqing inside the restaurant and said, "I’m taking that woman with me, she belongs to our Blood Clan."

Mr. Tings wiped his hands and said, "She’s currently a guest of the Dark Kitchen, and I need to ensure her dining experience. Whatever you want to do with her after she leaves is none of my concern, but for now, please move aside and wait, don’t stand in the doorway and disrupt my business."

Ha! Ha!

A few young members of the Blood Clan flashed their fangs, taking Mr. Tings’s words as an offense.

The elder from the Blood Clan stopped the few young ones and stepped forward with a slightly threatening tone, "Mr. Tings, your Dark Kitchen has always prided itself as a neutral force, not involving itself in local disputes, I hope you do not make the wrong decision."

Old Tings replied with neither servility nor overbearance, "So please wait a moment, after this lady finishes her meal, she’ll have nothing to do with us."

"Tings, are you trampling on the dignity of our Blood Clan!" the elder from the Blood Clan rebuked.

Tings sighed and said, "It’s just a matter of waiting one more hour, why can’t you wait a bit longer, is the dignity of the Blood Clan dignity, but the rules of my Dark Kitchen are not?"

"Tings, you..." the elder from the Blood Clan wanted to say something more, but Tings interrupted him mid-sentence.

Old Tings flung the towel off his shoulder and roared at the twenty or so vampires, "What about you, if you disrupt my business here again, I’ll call a truckload of Bread Men to kill you!"

Bread Men?

Wen Wen’s face showed an interested expression, he believed Mr. Tings didn’t misspeak, so what exactly are these mysterious creatures known as Bread Men?

Upon hearing ’Bread Men’, the elder from the Blood Clan’s face changed.

The number of monsters in Nim City is so large that they form mafia-like small groups, vampires, lycanthropes, witches and other creatures each hold a place in Nim City.

The reason why Dark Kitchen could maintain a neutral stance amongst so many forces was entirely because of the ’Bread Men’ as mentioned by Old Tings.

So the elder from the Blood Clan softened somewhat and said, "That woman is also from the Blood Clan, she’s one of us, and has nothing to do with your Dark Kitchen. Duke Illiyat will be arriving in Nim City in an hour, and we must capture this woman before he arrives."

Wen Wen was stunned for a moment, Duke Illiyat, was a vampire from the True Order Realm about to come here?

The title and strength of vampires are linked, a duke corresponds to a vampire of the True Order Realm, and Disaster Lower Order to Upper Order equate respectively to the three ranks of Baron to Marquis.

And vampires of the Calamity Level are known as nobles, the stronger ones are knights, the weaker ones are barons, as for those below Calamity Level, in the Blood Clan their status is just a bit better than slaves.

To have a vampire from the True Order Realm rush to Nim City so swiftly, the Blood Clan evidently placed great importance on Tao Qingqing, but how did they know of Tao Qingqing’s uniqueness?

If it was just a casual glance, they would at most find Tao Qingqing distinct, Wen Wen certainly doesn’t think those outside goods could discern Tao Qingqing’s true specialty at a glance.

Unless... unless they had another source of information!

When Dr. Feng and Ais Wakaz teamed up, Wen Wen didn’t manage to eavesdrop the whole time, so it’s very possible that Dr. Feng revealed the information to the Blood Clan.

A stern vigour appeared on Wen Wen’s face, "I was planning on torturing him for a month, now I might as well add another month... No, I’ll just torture him whenever I feel like it."
