Chapter 593: Chapter 582 Jin Dahuo’s Anger

Ordinary catnip only affects some big cats, and there are particular individuals who aren’t interested in this scent; however, the catnip Yuan Xiao fired was modified by the Hunter Association and could win over every tiger-like being.

But those tiger-like beings are still a superpower species. After inhaling the catnip balls, they actually didn’t lose their combat abilities, nor were their senses dulled, so thinking of ambushing them while they were distracted was wishful thinking.

Even though they hadn’t lost their ability to fight, their desire to battle had been greatly diminished, and they became apathetic towards other things. There was passive resistance even when higher-ups issued orders to their subordinates, and that was enough.

As the big cats of the city were intoxicated, a glacial blue barrier arose in the center of the town, splitting Yueshan City in half.

In the Yueshan City Government Building, now the Tiger-like Palace, a humanoid tiger with a golden pelt lounged lazily on its exclusive and terrifying throne.

It had heard that some humans liked to use tiger skin on their chairs to assert authority, so it also had a human skin chair made to flaunt its power.

This golden tiger was the first tiger-like creature created by the ’Progenitor’ and referred to by the other tiger-like beings as the Golden King. Its power had nearly reached the Progenitor’s level, attaining the True Order Realm.

As a member of the tiger-like beings, it couldn’t escape a tacky name; the ’Progenitor’ had named it Jin Dahuo, but it quite liked this name.

Jin Dahuo held two catnip balls in its hand, occasionally sticking out its tongue to give them a lick, seemingly enjoying the flavor.

It had come across this delightful item by chance at a pet store, finding that a couple of licks provided utmost bliss, so it immediately deemed the stuff for royal use, meant only for itself and a few of the Great Slavemasters to enjoy.

While savoring the moment, Jin Dahuo suddenly leaped up and ran to the window, where it saw a rain of catnip balls falling outside. The smell was much more potent than what it held in its hands!

Its eyes sparkled as if lit with tiny stars, somewhat like a human watching money rain from the sky.

But its joy was short-lived when it spotted the icy blue barrier that had divided the city. It was as though someone had dumped a bucket of ice water over its head, shocking it into sobriety.

"This must be those humans’ trickery!"

Jin Dahuo immediately burst out of the Royal Palace, wanting to command its subordinates to destroy the barrier and secure all the locations of the hostages, threatening the Hunters Association to stop their underhanded tactics.

But while its subordinates heard the command, they carried out the orders lackadaisically, and at such a pace, it seemed it would take a while before anything was executed.

Jin Dahuo trembled with rage, "...how, how malicious, those despicable humans, they’re using this stuff to corrupt the minds of our kind!"

It pointed at its subjects indulging in catnip balls and bellowed, "Foolish things, throw away what you hold in your hands! Although this stuff can send us to heaven, and is harmless to us, and is everywhere..."

The more Jin Dahuo spoke, the less convincing it sounded. With such a tempting offer so readily available, its subordinates were unlikely to give it up, and hoping that they could remain as clear-headed as itself seemed next to impossible.

Just then, a human male wearing ragged clothing charged unstoppably towards Jin Dahuo, and the tiger-like beings that tried to block the man were effortlessly knocked away, pulverized into a pulp by an unknown force in mid-air.

"So you’re the ringleader, huh?"

Jin Dahuo roared in fury, his body twisted bizarrely, transforming into a ten-meter-long golden tiger that pounced ferociously at the human.

...

In an underground chamber in the western district, a Golden Silk Monkey scratched its skin in distress. Hidden within its fur, a parasite sought out the light, and it was determined to scratch it out.

The monkey was nearly the size of a human and possessed a robust tail, which culminated in a hand at its end. This hand restlessly danced in front of it.

Indeed, right in front, for this monkey’s tail originated a mere three fingers’ width below its navel...

Beyond this monkey, there were four other figures lurking in this underground room, one of whom was Aker Aru who had escaped from Wen Wen’s grasp.

At the far end of the chamber was a huge pit, wherein lay a pool of bizarre, luminescent, and writhing tar-like substance with countlessly large and small colored bubbles, each holding an eyeball!

"It seems like the Hunters Association is getting ready to deal with those foolish cats. If the fight ends sooner, we can also leave this place earlier..." sighed Aker Aru.

The six of them had originally infiltrated to covertly assassinate Jin Dahuo to vent their frustrations, but soon after their entry, Yueshan City was sealed off by the Hunters Association, and wanting not to draw the Association’s attention, they had no choice but to hide and wait for the situation to resolve.

"They’re just a bunch of foolish tigers deluded with dreams of dominion. Now that the Hunters Association has taken action, it should be dealt with quickly, and then we can take our leave," scoffed the monkey, speaking in human tongue.

A streamlined creature, completely snow-white, said, "Speaking of which, the human who set up this barrier has some skills. Even the underground is covered by barriers, or else we could just leave through there."

"Humph, if you ask me, we should just break the barrier and leave. What could the Hunters Association possibly do to us?" an irritable creature with crocodile-like skin burst out.

Aker Aru mocked, "Old Croc, you’re still as dim as ever... Ordinary Demon Hunters don’t scare you, but what about Catastrophe Level ones?"

With the words ’Catastrophe Level’ uttered, all the creatures in the room fell silent.

Millennia had passed, making them all much stronger than before, the quality of powerful beings within their group even comparable to that of large secret organizations. Yet, not a single one among them succeeded in advancing to Catastrophe Level, which was why they were still lying low.

A figure in a black robe stood up; beneath the robe was a set of black, exquisitely crafted full-body armor. This person spoke in an eerily hollow voice:

"I suggest everyone here remain calm and wait... Lying low is still necessary, at least for now. While we still fear the Catastrophe Containment Facility, the peripheral organizations we once overlooked have grown to rival the old Sanctuary. The power of any of the eight Judicators alone could crush us all. Therefore, we must not allow our existence to be discovered. If the Sanctuary captures us, the worst we could face is confinement, but falling into the hands of the Hunters Association... would not be so lenient."

After he finished speaking, the other creatures fell quiet, as the man in the black robe was the strongest among the monsters present.

His words also served as a directive to the other creatures. If nothing unexpected happened, they would leave Yueshan City unnoticed by anyone after the Hunters Association had dealt with all the tigers.

Without causing the slightest ripple, as if they had never existed at all.
