Wen Wen could probably guess the reason she turned out this way; the blood he fed her was concocted for making his intentions align with the longsword’s.

As Tao Qingqing ingested it all, the absorption far exceeded that of the longsword, therefore she obeyed Wen Wen even faster than the longsword did.

Moreover, the blood contained the power of Dark Matter and Frenzy. After Tao Qingqing took in the blood, she also absorbed these powers, which prompted her constitution to undergo bizarre transformations in just a few short days, making her quite different from traditional vampires.

Wen Wen conducted some tests; her five senses had become sharper, her strength and speed had increased, and her recovery ability was rising dramatically.

Contrasting with the enhancement of her powers, her craving for blood had noticeably lessened. Although she still required blood to sustain her life, her bloodlust had significantly diminished, and she could even consume some human foods.

Her aversion to sunlight also reduced considerably, and items or powers like Holy Water had a growingly negligible restraint on her. Overall, it would be more accurate to describe her now as a superpower user with vampire capabilities rather than a vampire.

If Wen Wen hadn’t seen Tao Qingqing drinking blood before, he would find it difficult to identify her as a vampire if he met her on the street.

Wen Wen nodded and said, "You must have noticed the changes in yourself. If you continue drinking my blood, your vampire characteristics will keep waning. Once you no longer have the urge to attack humans, you can leave this place."

"You’re going to release me?"

Tao Qingqing was astonished, almost as if she didn’t recognize Wen Wen anymore. Perhaps something had really gone wrong with the mind of this scoundrel.

Wen Wen shook his head and said, "Then you’re thinking too much, I can’t just release you..."

Tao Qingqing breathed a sigh of relief. Wen Wen was at last acting normally again, but she also felt a vague sense of loss.

Wen Wen continued to explain, "Regardless, as a vampire, you did harm many people. The sins you committed ultimately need to be repaid by you... What I mean is to let you come out of the Sanctuary, to be my assistant, capturing monsters to protect humans."

After listening to Wen Wen, Tao Qingqing stood there stunned, her thoughts complex and turbulent, not even noticing when Wen Wen had left her side.

After a long while, tears streamed down her cheeks.

Since she became a vampire, it was the first time she shed tears with such emotions.

When she was first turned into a vampire, she too had thought about resisting the vampiric bloodlust with her strong will, not wanting to rely on harming others to survive, aspiring to be a kind vampire.

It was a spiral staircase within a church, seemingly without end. No matter how far one descended, it was impossible to reach the bottom.

And no matter how deep one ventured into the staircase, by ascending just the height of three flights of stairs, one could exit from within it.
