Catastrophe Containment Facility
Chapter 580 - 579 X Iron Wing

Chapter 580: Chapter 579 X Iron Wing

Despite Wen Wen’s seemingly carefree wit, his brain was working frantically.

Earlier, Aker Aru mentioned ’we’, which meant that the monsters that had escaped from the Sanctuary weren’t just Aker Aru alone but a group—and probably a large one at that.

Wen Wen had actually been wondering what had become of all the other monsters after all the Containment Officers had died and ended up in the graveyard. There should be a considerable number of those capable of surviving a thousand years.

Now it seemed they must have all escaped from the Sanctuary.

But Wen Wen was well aware of how strong the Sanctuary’s cells were. What exactly had happened a thousand years ago that could have allowed the monsters to break out?

This line of thought was actually quickly processed in Wen Wen’s mind.

He took out a high-powered megaphone and yelled at Aker Aru, "Can you please not talk so loudly?"

"Loudly?"

With a cold snort, Aker Aru swiftly moved to Wen Wen’s side and threw a straight punch at him, turning the pitiful megaphone into pieces after just a single use.

The creature’s speed was unbelievably fast. Wen Wen only had enough time to shield his chest with his arms before he was blown away by the punch, crashing into the subway station behind him.

Aker Aru walked towards the station while fresh blood seeped ceaselessly from his deer head, dying his white robe red.

"Our hatred, our obsession, and suffering are beyond your comprehension. Do you know how happy I am to see you again?"

"I will strip the sinews from your body, flay your skin, and plant your carcass beneath the Other Shore Flowers, so you will be eternally drained of nutrients by them!"

Wen Wen staggered to his feet, shaking off the debris, and gasped a sharp intake of breath, his eyes twitching continuously as he beheld the roaring Deer Head Monster.

Just from that one punch, both his arms were fractured!

Moreover, he had just switched constitutions with his left hand, and couldn’t change to the Vampire Constitution to heal; Wen Wen now had to endure excruciating pain even to snap his fingers.

"Why have you suddenly become so strong? You are like a completely different person from before," Wen Wen gritted his teeth and asked. He hadn’t expected to be reduced to this state from just one punch.

Aker Aru sneered viciously, "Are you surprised, afraid of my strength? I’ve already told you, you cannot win against me."

"This is the power I’ve accumulated over thousands of years, just waiting for the day to meet the detestable Containment Officers again, to let you all experience the ultimate suffering."

Spitting out a mouthful of blood, Wen Wen asked, "Why didn’t you use this power before?"

Aker Aru held up a finger and said, "Would you use a bomb to get rid of a mouse that has mistakenly entered your house?"

"Maybe..."

Although Wen Wen said this, he understood Aker Aru’s point: the creature’s strength was accumulated and so it must also deplete with use.

Wen Wen before hadn’t been worth the creature exerting its power, but if Wen Wen’s identity was that of a Containment Officer, then for the sake of revenge, Aker Aru would be willing to do anything.

"Stop with the wisecracks; no one finds you humorous!"

Aker Aru threw a punch at Wen Wen’s head, the force of which was still tremendous, but it passed right through Wen Wen’s body.

Just as he was about to be hit, Wen Wen timely entered the Imaginary Space, his body transforming into a green data stream-composed humanoid phantom. In this state, no matter how powerful the Deer Head Monster was, it couldn’t harm him.

Aker Aru stopped his attack and looked at Wen Wen’s phantom with a cold laugh,

"Containment Officer, you do have quite a few tricks up your sleeve, but how long can this one hold me off? You’re destined to be buried under the flowers."

"While we have the time, I want to ask you a question. Is the Iron King still alive? I want to tear him apart with my own hands!"

"Who is the Iron King?"

Wen Wen was taken aback; there was no one by that name in the Sanctuary.

Aker Aru got somewhat impatient, gripping his fist, and asked, "The first layer Central Administrator, the Metal Guardian, Iron King Jin Kela, haven’t you seen him?"

Wen Wen suddenly said, "Oh, so it’s the guy in the metal suit. You said Iron King, and I thought it was someone else... Wait a second, Jin Kela?"

Upon thinking of that name, Wen Wen’s expression turned strange, and then, right in front of Aker Aru, he burst out laughing, leaving Aker Aru puzzled.

"You actually manage to laugh at such a humiliation; you truly are as shameless as the other Containment Officers," Aker Aru said coldly. "He hasn’t even told you his name; this shows he doesn’t acknowledge you yet. The Sanctuary must still be rather small, I suppose."

Wen Wen’s laughter suddenly ceased. Although it was somewhat dissatisfying, what Aker Aru had said might indeed be true.

Whether it was the man in the metal suit or the other two Central Administrators, none had ever revealed their names or recounted their pasts.

The man in the metal suit had the title of Iron King, and the other two were probably Big Shots too. They had always been courteous towards Wen Wen, but there was always a sense of distance.

Perhaps they indeed hadn’t acknowledged Wen Wen yet.

After a brief exchange, Wen Wen could hardly maintain his state anymore. The Imaginary Space was about to be deactivated, but before it did, Wen Wen controlled his muscles to snap his already fractured left hand’s fingers.

The emerald green data stream vanished, and Wen Wen’s body reappeared in front of Aker Aru. Aker Aru threw a punch without hesitation.

With both hands fractured, if Wen Wen were hit by this punch, he would have certainly lost his fighting ability on the spot.

But the punch didn’t hit Wen Wen, it struck realistic metal wings instead.

Four silver metal wings unfolded in an X-shape behind Wen Wen, encasing him completely and stopping Aker Aru’s punch!

The metal sphere, composed of wings and about one and a half meters in diameter, started to distort and deform where it contacted the fist. However, it ultimately did not break, and it was sent flying like a cannonball, rolling on the ground for a while before coming to a stop after covering a hundred meters.

Wen Wen, sheltered by the wings, spat out a mouthful of blood and then started to laugh.

Although he had coughed up blood, compared to a broken arm, this level of injury could only be considered superficial.

The fusion of the two pairs of Wings of Steel created a new set of wings, enhancing them overall and transforming them into a Disaster Upper Order Containment Item. This significantly bolstered Wen Wen’s protective ability as well as provided a considerable offensive capability.

Wen Wen had tested it himself. If he didn’t use the sword technique taught by Xun Ying, he couldn’t breach the wings’ defense at all.

Because the Iron Wing expanded in an X-shape, Wen Wen named this Containment Item—X Iron Wing!

If he ever got another pair of Wings of Steel and fused them, he would name them Star Iron Wing, and with two pairs, it would be Rice Iron Wing...

Wen Wen’s naming method was just as straightforward and brute force.
