Catastrophe Containment Facility -
Chapter 550 - 548 Changyi Beast
Chapter 550: Chapter 548 Changyi Beast
"Sinful Force soared to the heavens, this really... doesn’t surprise me at all."
Yan Xiu had said something similar before, but Wen Wen just thought it was jealousy of his handsome face.
Although he himself had done some morally questionable things, it hadn’t reached the extent of Sinful Force soaring to the heavens; the only explanation was that he bore the Sinful Force generated by the entire Sanctuary!
This also meant that the Sanctuary was now bound to Wen Wen, sharing both glory and ruin.
However, since Sinful Force truly existed, did the so-called cycle of karma and retribution for good and evil really exist as well?
This was a question countless philosophers couldn’t figure out, and naturally, Wen Wen found it hard to grasp as well. But the old security guard who could see Sinful Force seemed to have some use to Wen Wen.
Wen Wen considered recruiting him as a Containment Officer after dealing with the current affairs.
Even if he was unwilling to perform field duties due to his looks, he could work within the Sanctuary. A Sanctuary completely led by Wen Wen could also become a place for him to stay.
Just as he was about to coax the old security guard into joining, Wen Wen’s expression changed slightly, and then he smiled and said, "I’d really like to continue our chat, but someone is already trying to disturb us."
Wen Wen flicked his wrist, sending several playing cards flying out. They clashed with an object coming at him with a whoosh and fell to the ground together.
What attacked Wen Wen was a metal fork that looked like a manure fork.
Wen Wen looked toward the newcomer and stretched leisurely, saying, "You must be the Beast Tamer ’Changyi Beast’ from Absurd Words, what a strange name..."
"But I stopped your attack with just a few playing cards, that’s not how you use throwing weapons."
A bare-chested man wearing an animal skin skirt walked up to the manure fork, yanked it up, and rested it on his shoulder. Following him was a nearly four-meter-long vivid tiger.
"I’ll use it however I damn well please. It’s none of your business."
"Yuan Chouchou’s presence has disappeared, did you guys do it?" Changyi Beast asked Wen Wen bluntly.
Changyi Beast had originally planned to break through the ceiling and make a domineering entrance before Wen Wen,
but after trying for quite a while, he realized the building’s floor was incredibly tough and the thickness between the floors was also odd. He had dug more than a meter deep without reaching the next level.
So, he had no choice but to descend the stairs to find Wen Wen and cause trouble.
If he hadn’t been fixated on the floor, Wen Wen wouldn’t have had the time to chat with the bucktoothed old security guard for so long.
Wen Wen repeated the name Changyi Beast had said: "Yuan Chouchou... That round and stinky fellow? The name is quite fitting. You might see him in a while."
Changyi Beast glanced at the bloodstains and the smelly toe on the ground and realized that Yuan Chouchou had been killed by Wen Wen.
He flew into a rage, yelled at Wen Wen, "How dare you lay hands on someone from Absurd Words, you’re courting death!"
No sooner had he spoken than he dashed towards Wen Wen, and from beneath his animal skin skirt, animals like crows, poisonous snakes, and badgers emerged one after another, attacking Wen Wen from all sides.
Yet the conspicuous tiger lay on the ground, lazily licking its fur, completely uninterested in the fight.
"This guy’s brain doesn’t seem to work very well; he’s a physically oriented superpower user... which means he’s easy to deal with."
When he was about to reach Wen Wen, Wen Wen timed it perfectly and stomped the ground hard. The other end of the floorboard shot up, hitting Changyi Beast between his legs and sending him flying, his head stuck in the ceiling, unable to move.
"As a superpower user of the Assimilation Realm, you really are quite useless..."
Wen Wen ignored the other small animals attacking him, as Three Cubs and Four Cubs appeared at the same time, dispatching the animals in a few breaths.
Wen Wen knew Four Cubs had the strength to do this, but he hadn’t expected Three Cubs to take out two so swiftly and efficiently.
The Changyi Beast, after all, was a Beast Tamer of the Assimilation Realm, and the small animal he released was about as strong as the Three Cubs had been, only now, with venomous fangs, it had so dramatically boosted the Three Cubs’ strength.
Perhaps I should catch a few more ’wives’ that the Three Cubs can eat...
The Changyi Beast struggled to pull his head off the ceiling, his head wavering, somewhat unclear of the situation.
He bellowed at Wen Wen, "Who the hell are you calling trash!"
"Obviously, it’s you!"
While speaking, Wen Wen got into a bow stance and threw a straight punch at the Changyi Beast’s body.
’Seven Sharks Fighting Technique... Void Shark Fist!’
The Changyi Beast didn’t have time to dodge, and although Wen Wen’s fist didn’t actually touch him, the Changyi Beast’s chest burst open as if struck by a battering ram!
This move, once used by the Shark Warrior against Wen Wen, was exceedingly powerful and had left Wen Wen struggling.
It was the Shark Warrior’s racial talent as well as an advanced boxing technique, and Wen Wen could only imitate the Shark Warrior’s move.
After killing the Changyi Beast, Wen Wen felt not a trace of joy but rather a sense of gravity.
He noticed something was off; the feel of his punch through the Changyi Beast was wrong, the flesh had a strange sensation, as if... it had no life force!
And even though the Changyi Beast’s upper half was obliterated and it clearly couldn’t stand up to fight again, the unique qi that belonged to the Changyi Beast had not disappeared.
Wen Wen suddenly looked towards the fierce tiger at the end of the corridor, having an inkling of what was going on.
In the Capital District, there’s an idiom called ’becoming a specter for the tiger’ which originates from an ancient folk tale where people killed by tigers would become specters, serving the tigers.
And in the name Changyi Beast, there’s the character for specter!
So this tiger in front of him was Wen Wen’s real enemy, and that strong man was just an Assimilation Realm superpower user killed by this tiger!
No wonder the fight felt so strange; it turns out he wasn’t alive at all.
The tiger sat up as if human and looked at Wen Wen with an almost human expression on its face.
"I thought I was going to enjoy a good show, but trash will always be trash... However, he did have Lower Sequence strength. You were able to kill him so easily; you must be of Middle Sequence... No, you are a superpower user from the Upper Order Realm."
Seeing the tiger talk like a human, Wen Wen remained quite composed, after all, the Sanctuary had oddities like Miao Miaomiao.
However, when Wen Wen interrogated the Clown previously, he hadn’t mentioned anything special about this tiger, only that its strength was vastly different from his own.
Most importantly... this tiger made Wen Wen feel threatened!
It made Wen Wen, who possessed Disaster Upper Order strength, feel threatened!
So what kind of strength did this tiger actually possess?
"Hmm, you’re wavering, you must have sensed my strength," the tiger said, licking its paw and addressing Wen Wen, "I only assumed this Beast Tamer’s identity and mixed into Absurd Words for fun."
"This group of people is quite interesting; you just have to make them laugh to join, there are no strict rules, everyone is intriguing, and they speak so nicely..."
"But I’ve grown tired of it recently. If I hadn’t wanted to get my hands on that Sword Qi Crystal, I would’ve left long ago."
"Why don’t you become my Changyi Beast, I want to try playing with your identity, it should be more interesting than that waste!"
