Chapter 470: Chapter 468: Store Opening

After leaving the Central Area, Lin Huan began to explore within the Sanctuary.

The cells imprisoned strange and terrifying creatures, the respectful clusters of tombstones, the sealed-off storage warehouses that were forbidden to enter, and his assigned room...

Inserting the key into the lock, Lin Huan said with a smile at the corner of his eye, "They’re even assigning property here... If I ever get into trouble, I could hide here, and no matter how capable my enemies are, they wouldn’t be able to catch me."

As soon as he opened the door, a sour smell wafted out, like the odor of rotten eggs.

Covering his nose, Lin Huan looked around the messy room and sighed,

"How many years has it been since anyone lived here? The dirt on the ground is almost thick enough to plant flowers in..."

...

At two o’clock in the afternoon, Lin Huan, feeling slightly nervous, arrived at the Custodian gathering wearing that specially tailored Black Robe.

The door was wide open, with a sparse gathering of a dozen or so Custodians already seated inside.

Some wore Black Robes, while others concealed themselves in their own unique ways.

Regardless of their attire, however, they all had their identifying numbers in conspicuous places, to prevent any confusion with others.

The place had all sorts of entertainment facilities, looking more like an upscale club than a formal gathering spot.

Lin Huan liked such a scene; he didn’t want to be too tense.

Upon seeing him at the entrance, a man in a suit, wearing a mask that covered the upper half of his face, walked over with a smile and handed Lin Huan a red envelope, saying,

"Welcome, newcomer, we’re colleagues now. This is my greeting gift, the password is six zeros. Let’s get along well from now on!"

Lin Huan pinched the red envelope, opened it, and discovered to his surprise that it contained a bank card.

Out of curiosity, Lin Huan took out the portable POS machine he always carried and swiped it, finding to his astonishment that there was a hundred thousand yuan on it!

Looking at the man in the suit in amazement, he thought, "Even the rich guys I’ve extorted would feel the pinch giving out a hundred thousand yuan, and this guy is giving it away as a welcoming gift..."

"Those are just fake tycoons. This here is the real deal!"

This suit-wearing man was, of course, Feng Ruixing. Other than him, nobody else in the Sanctuary would be so generous. He truly had the resources to say that money was just a number.

If he utilized his full abilities, he could create a business empire in a short amount of time!

The reason Lin Huan always carried a POS machine was, naturally, because there were always customers who claimed they couldn’t produce the cash on the spot as an excuse to get credit from him...

In response to this generous gift, Lin Huan found Feng Ruixing and handed over an amulet colored in a luxurious gold.

This amulet was also sold by Lin Huan for a hundred thousand each, giving it away made him feel somewhat more at ease.

Feng Ruixing played with the amulet, which was pretty but otherwise useless, and couldn’t help but chuckle. This new Custodian certainly was an interesting one.

Afterward, Lin Huan went over to the food area, grabbed the last two remaining large lobsters, and found a seat to sit down and observe the other Custodians.

Most of those wearing Black Robes were as vigilant as he was; they likely were newcomers too.

Those who were dressed casually and moved with ease must be the veterans of the Sanctuary.

Among these veterans, some gave Lin Huan an extremely dangerous feel; even though it was impossible to sense Qi here, he instinctively knew that he was no match for them.

In fact, before his joining the Sanctuary, every one of them could have easily outmatched him!

Perhaps, even now...

Lost in thought, a woman disguised in a dinosaur pajama walked up next to Lin Huan, her spirited eyes curiously observing him.

No, that wasn’t right; she was looking at the lobster in front of her.

Lin Huan couldn’t help but smile wryly as he handed over a lobster. The woman happily caught it and then gave Lin Huan a large bag of pickles in exchange.

"This... really is interesting," Lin Huan didn’t know what else to say.

...

After a crisp bell sound, the man in the metallic suit stood at the door and said, "Ahem, esteemed Containment Officers, please be quiet."

"In this gathering of Containment Officers, there are many new faces. ’Black Cross’ wishes for you all to get along well, help each other, and integrate into the big family of the Sanctuary as soon as possible."

The man in the metallic suit then clapped his hands, and two prison guards carrying piles of red envelopes started distributing wages to the Containment Officers.

"Black Cross is very satisfied with the actions of all Containment Officers over the past month."

"Through your brave struggles, you have saved numerous innocent lives, facilitated the balance between the real world and the Inner World, and made the world a safer place..."

The man in the metallic suit was an eloquent speaker. It was as if he had prepared a speech in advance. The seasoned Containment Officers were floating on air, while the new ones were full of expectations.

"Before we commence the normal proceedings of the meeting, there is another announcement. On the second floor of the Sanctuary in the Catastrophe Area, the containment shop is officially open for business."

"You will be able to carry out transactions through the containment shop in the future."

"Please, follow me..."

The man in the metallic suit led the Containment Officers towards the Catastrophe Area while he himself stayed on the first floor.

Unless there were special circumstances, Central Administrators like him couldn’t easily leave their floor.

The Catastrophe Area of the Sanctuary wasn’t previously open to Containment Officers, but since they were going to operate a shop, Wen Wen decided to lift this restriction.

Including the first Containment Officer, Gong Baoding, none of the Containment Officers had ever visited the second floor of the Sanctuary, which made them quite curious about it.

The veil of mystery over the Sanctuary had finally been lifted a bit more for them, and the first person they met was the Green Light Dress Woman.

Seeing so many newcomers, the Green Light Dress Woman’s eyes practically popped out of her head. Before, she could only tease Wen Wen, who seldom came here, but now, with so many fresh and naive Containment Officers, it was simply fantastic!

She was very thankful to Wen Wen for letting her manage this shop. The shop was a place every Containment Officer would frequently visit, and she didn’t have to worry about being lonely anymore.

No matter how excited she was inside, the Green Light Dress Woman still exhibited a dignified and regal demeanor.

Flirting was something that was fun when done in private. What would it be like in front of a crowd?

"Hello, Containment Officers, I am the Central Administrator of the Catastrophe Area."

"I am also in charge of the containment shop. Please line up and place your Custodian Badges in front of me, and I will grant you access to use the containment shop."

The Containment Officers lined up in front of the Green Light Dress Woman one by one and obtained the right to purchase items from the containment shop.

However, as the Green Light Dress Woman was granting access, she discreetly took her fair share of advantages.

But no one noticed, assuming this Central Administrator just had a somewhat strange personality...
