Chapter 352: Chapter 350 I Came to See the Doctor
The sun was setting in the west, and the remaining light of the sunset shone into the room, casting a glow on Wang Zixuan’s face. It was a rare moment of tranquillity for the twenty-year-old youth in these three years.
Wang Junyi and Yu Hui, who had just been arguing about finding someone to "cure" Wang Zixuan’s illness, revealed knowing smiles upon seeing his sleeping figure.
They didn’t think it was abnormal since Wang Zixuan was naturally sleepy during the day, and sleeping as soundly as he was now was even rarer.
So, they didn’t disturb Wang Zixuan’s sleep.
Yu Hui was cooking dinner in the kitchen while Wang Junyi was anxiously waiting for Wen Wen to arrive, regretting not having asked for Wen Wen’s phone number. Wen Wen said he would come in the afternoon, but now it was dusk.
None of them noticed that, as the sunlight gradually weakened, Wang Zixuan’s complexion also started to look eerie.
A moment later, Wang Zixuan opened his eyes, wearing a bizarre smile. His eyes had no distinction between the whites and pupils, completely black; upon closer examination, it was clear that blackness was due to a dense layer of tiny black insects covering them!
Wang Zixuan stood up awkwardly under Wang Junyi’s astonished gaze and went about drawing the curtains one by one, darkening the room.
Then, he walked to the door and poked a piece of wire into the keyhole, twisting the wire and the doorknob until they broke, ensuring that no one could leave the room in a short time.
"What are you doing?"
Wang Junyi looked at Wang Zixuan angrily and said, although his son had always been abnormal, his current behavior still made Wang Junyi uneasy.
Wang Zixuan, with his head tilted, grinned unnaturally, drooling heavily, "Dad... I’ve been eating insects for three years, and I’m tired of them. I want to eat something else."
"If you want to eat something else, tell mom, and I’ll make it for you."
Yu Hui, happily carrying a plate, walked out from the kitchen, hearing that Wang Zixuan didn’t want to eat insects, she thought that her son’s condition had improved.
"What I want to eat is you! Since you agreed, give it to me now!"
Wang Zixuan’s body twisted unnaturally, arching backwards with his chest up and back down, his head forward, and his limbs’ joints rotating like those of a wild beast supporting his body.
He crawled towards Yu Hui as quickly as a spider, and she was so frightened that she froze. The plate fell to the ground as she screamed.
For the past three years, although Wang Zixuan had been quite scary, he had never made any moves to attack them, which is why they had been able to live with him with peace of mind.
As Wang Zixuan was halfway there, a dagger struck the floor ahead of him, slowing his rush. This was a dagger thrown by Wang Junyi.
As one of Wen Wen’s childhood idols, Wang Junyi was somewhat of a famous detective. Although he had never delved into the world of superpower users, he was still stronger than the average person.
The blocked Wang Zixuan wasn’t angry but turned his head to look at Wang Junyi and started laughing with his mouth wide open.
"Such toys are useless to me, but since you’re in such a hurry, I might as well start with you. She won’t be able to run away anyway."
"To trap me, you specially installed iron bars on these windows and replaced the door with a high-security one, but you don’t know that even with these things, I can leave anytime I want; it’s just that I don’t want to."
"These things will ultimately only trap you here, allowing you to taste the flavor of despair."
Seeing his son who seemed to have turned into a different person, Wang Junyi sweated heavily and drew the handgun he carried, aiming it at Wang Zixuan.
"Stop, or I’ll shoot!"
Aiming the gun at his own son was a very difficult thing for Wang Junyi.
Even though Wang Zixuan had become more monster-like than human, he had never thought about giving up on Wang Zixuan. Instead, he imagined healing him, and then the three of them starting a new life together.
But now Wang Zixuan had shown signs of wanting to harm others, and he could no longer afford to be soft-hearted. If Wang Zixuan went out and hurt other people, it would all be his fault.
The moment he showed any tendency to attack, Wang Junyi would shoot without hesitation. In the worst case, he would just commit suicide afterward, giving his son a companion in death!
However, before Wang Junyi’s inner struggle had concluded, he felt the palm of his hand become slippery, as if something was wriggling.
Then he was horrified to discover that a plump green caterpillar was lying on his hand!
As he noticed the caterpillar, his hand became numb and he dropped the handgun uncontrollably to the ground.
Wang Zixuan picked up the gun, broke it into pieces, and said, "The sound of the gunfire is too loud. Even if the soundproofing of this house is top-notch, it can’t completely block out the noise of a gunshot. I don’t want too many people to know about my existence."
As he spoke, a centipede crawled out of his mouth and then burrowed back through his ear, making Wang Junyi’s scalp tingle.
To prevent the spread of the toxin, Wang Junyi picked up a thin rope to tie around his arm.
Wang Zixuan, drooling, said to Wang Junyi, "Don’t worry, this toxin will only cause simple paralysis. I won’t poison you to death; it doesn’t taste good that way!"
Then Wang Zixuan pounced on Wang Junyi, knocked him to the ground, and held down his limbs so he couldn’t move. Wang Junyi could only watch in despair as his son’s mouth, filled with insects and saliva, moved closer and closer to him.
At this moment, Yu Hui mustered up her courage, picked up a kitchen knife, and aimed to chop at Wang Zixuan.
The previous version of Wang Zixuan, strange as he was, could still be explained away as a special illness; but now, his appearance was clearly no longer her son.
But the moment she lifted the knife, it dropped to the ground, nearly hitting her foot.
That was because she saw a huge centipede emerge from Wang Zixuan’s coccyx, it stood up and stared at her coldly, draining her of the courage to wield the knife.
"Mom, don’t rush. You have to wait in line," he said.
After saying this, Wang Zixuan opened his mouth wide and aimed at the motionless Wang Junyi, ready to take a bite.
Just at this critical moment, a muffled sound occurred, and a bullet pierced through Wang Zixuan’s right arm, with foul-smelling blood flowing out of the wound.
"Who is it!"
Wang Zixuan roared toward the direction the bullet had come from but didn’t see anyone; he only noticed a bullet hole in the door. That bullet had penetrated the bulletproof door before hitting his arm!
The shooter did not respond to him but fired several more shots. A succession of bullets hit Wang Zixuan, forcing him to leap off Wang Junyi’s body. The centipede that had been staring at Yu Hui was also shot through the head and collapsed to the ground.
Then, the expensive security door was kicked open with incredible force, and a man cloaked in a black cape retracted his foot and calmly stepped into the room.
This man held a white, wolf-patterned handgun in his left hand and a pale cane with a hint of blood in his right—it was Wen Wen.
"Mr. Wang, I’m here to treat your son!"
