Chapter 335: Chapter 333 Assimilation Town
"You, what the hell have you done to us? Why have I become like this?"
The Black Blood Princess swayed unsteadily, looking at Wen Wen and Song Ling with terror.
"We haven’t done much, just made you beautiful, as you wished," Song Ling said to the Black Blood Princess with a smile.
Memories from three years ago suddenly flashed through the Black Blood Princess’s mind:
At that time, their family of four, along with the remnants of their defeated troops from the Inner World city-state, had come to the real world.
Everything here was unfamiliar to them, and they had just happened to witness a large force from the Hunter Association easily annihilating the pursuers who had come after them and completely sealing off the unstable passage that their city had spent hundreds of years creating.
Just like that, they knew that if they weren’t careful in this world, they would end up like the pursuing troops.
And it was at this moment that Song Ling appeared; back then, he was like a savior, easily resolving their predicament.
Back then, Song Ling crouched in front of her and asked kindly, "What is your dream?"
"I want to become beautiful..."
That was her answer, but there was something she did not say, which was ’I want to be with you...’
Of course, after spending less than a month getting to know the real world, she had tossed that thought aside.
The naive emotions were nothing more than her instinct to rely on the strong out of fear.
So now, the Black Blood Princess’s heart harbored only hatred toward Song Ling, and because of that once faint fondness, the hatred was even deeper.
"Now you have become beautiful enough that you won’t be noticed as abnormal even if you enter the human world; you won’t be singled out as a monster and killed... because you are half human already!"
"I know you hate me, but actually, only this wish of yours is truly beautiful; all other desires are just twisted longings shaped by the chaos of the Inner World."
"Do you know why I named this place Fairy Tale Town? Although you all look like monsters from fairy tales, that’s not the reason."
"In my heart, the name of this place is—’Assimilation Town’!"
The Black Blood Princess stood up straight, trying to control her blood to attack Song Ling, but her blood was now normal human blood, easily deflected by a simple leaf from Song Ling.
She yelled furiously, "You think you’ve won? You don’t have good intentions towards us, but we’ve left ourselves a backup plan!"
"The Warlord King and Queen have long ago put up a Barrier here without your knowledge. Unless they lift it themselves, nobody can leave this place!"
Song Ling shrugged indifferently, "That’s even better. A monster that has lost half of its Strength is still a monster; if no one can leave, at least you won’t go out and cause harm to others."
"And when the Hunters Association’s main force arrives, a Barrier set up by just two Upper Sequence beings will be trivial!"
The Black Blood Princess sneered, "What if that Barrier triggers all the humans here to start killing each other?"
"We have already placed Witch Bugs in the bellies of all the humans here. Once the Barrier is activated, all humans who have Witch Bugs in their stomachs will lose their sanity. In such a scenario, how many people do you think you can save?"
Song Ling’s expression turned grave, and if that were the case, the Warlord King probably was ready to activate that Barrier after their Strength vanished.
By then, how many humans in this town could survive?
If his plan had gone smoothly, after creating so many Semi-Superhumans, the Hunters Association would surely not have given him a hard time. In fact, they might have even supported his research.
But if a large number of humans were to die here, he could even end up on the Hunters Association’s blacklist!
Therefore, he could no longer afford to bicker with the Black Blood Princess and directly said to Wen Wen, "I’m heading to the Royal Palace right now; she’s your problem to deal with. If you can’t stop those two, all my efforts will be for nothing."
Having said that, he dashed toward the Royal Palace.
Wen Wen pursed his lips, wondering what his own efforts had to do with Detective Wen.
However, with Song Ling gone, it was a good opportunity to contain the monster...
So Wen Wen approached the Black Blood Princess with an evil grin. From today on, his collection of pretty pets had grown by one.
"What, what are you going to do to me? Aren’t Demon Hunters supposed to protect humans? A disaster is about to strike, and you still want to do something to me?"
Frightened, the Black Blood Princess recoiled. Having seen the cruel things her father would do to other female monsters after giving off such an expression, Wen Wen’s similar expression terrified her to the extreme.
Compared to that fate, she was even less afraid of death.
"Tsk tsk, silly woman, it’s not as serious as you make it out to be. Did you think your Strength just disappeared? It’s all in the bodies of the ordinary townspeople, who are now much stronger than you think. This so-called Barrier isn’t necessarily going to kill them all."
"And... it’s not necessarily the humans who will suffer; it might be the weakened Monsters. So it’s better for me to focus on dealing with you right now."
"That guy Song Ling is just confused because he cares too much."
Finished speaking, Wen Wen continued to approach the terrified Black Blood Princess.
Seeing Wen Wen’s ill intentions, the Black Blood Princess steeled her heart, determined to die rather than let him have his way. She took out an apple, half red and half green, and bit into it fiercely.
This apple was what she had prepared to poison her mother, the Ice Queen, with, but she never thought that in the end, she would be the one to eat it.
Having just swallowed, she collapsed to the ground, her body swiftly overtaken by the powerful toxin.
Wen Wen scratched his head awkwardly. Was he really that scary? He just planned to lock her up, nothing excessive.
In her eyes, was prison really more terrifying than death?
Actually, the reason the Black Blood Princess ended up like this was solely because of her filthy mind and overactive imagination. Wen Wen saw capturing beautiful or unusual monsters as collecting pets, free of any wicked thoughts.
Even the most serious person can look a bit perverse when delighted by petting a cat.
Moreover, this guy Wen Wen, when happy, looks like a psychopathic killer, when doing good deeds, seems like he’s wreaking havoc, even his expressionless face resembles someone plotting an evil scheme...
This led to the Black Blood Princess’s awkward misunderstanding, even being frightened into suicide by Wen Wen.
However, although she had attempted suicide, Wen Wen couldn’t bear to let his new addition just die like that. So he took out the Cat-Ear Cup and poured some of the leftover Emetic Potion from Tao Wen into the Black Blood Princess’s mouth, causing her to vomit out some of the deadly poison.
Then, Wen Wen took out some uncontaminated Unicorn blood and fed her a bit.
With these, she should be able to survive without dying, but she would likely remain unconscious for a long while.
