Catastrophe Containment Facility
Chapter 324 - 322

Chapter 324: 322

The man holding Little Red Riding Hood’s hand was none other than Wen Wen.

Little Red Riding Hood glanced at Wen Wen’s face with disdain and tightened her grip further.

Since someone was obstructing her, she intended to directly crush Bai Xiaomiao’s skull!

"Hmm hmm... you want to compete with me in grip strength?"

Green data streams appeared on Wen Wen’s arm, and his grip strength suddenly increased, causing the hand holding Little Red Riding Hood to creak loudly.

In severe pain, Little Red Riding Hood finally released Bai Xiaomiao’s hand and retreated over ten meters after breaking free from Wen Wen’s hold, warily watching him.

Her fair wrist had turned red and swollen, Wen Wen’s force had been astonishing.

"Who are you? I’ve never seen you in this town before. Could you be a Demon Hunter? You’re probably not the Great Detective, so you must be that Pervert!"

After listening to Little Red Riding Hood, Wen Wen earnestly corrected, "Hmm... speak a little more politely, please. My code name is Pervert, don’t make it sound like I actually am one."

"Who cares about you!"

Little Red Riding Hood tossed back her cloak, revealing her beautiful yet strong legs, wrapped with several armed straps holding various weapons.

She drew two pistols and aimed at Wen Wen, saying, "Perverts must die!" After speaking, she fired her weapons.

Wen Wen easily dodged the trajectory of the bullets, but a vein throbbed on his forehead. He felt that this ignorant little girl needed a proper lesson on manners, or else she would be looked down upon when she grew up!

Well, spanking seemed like a good form of punishment...

Thus, Wen Wen lay on the ground, using his unique and exclusive evasive maneuvers against bullets, quickly approaching Little Red Riding Hood.

When Little Red Riding Hood had flipped open her cloak, Wen Wen had seen the hotspot of firearms inside; she probably wasn’t good at close combat!

Seeing that she couldn’t hit Wen Wen, who was agile like a spider, Little Red Riding Hood threw away her guns and then reached into her cloak, pulling out a rocket launcher!

At the front of the rocket launcher, a rocket shaped like a menacing shark was mounted. She then pressed the trigger.

Wen Wen’s eyes nearly popped out. Why would there be a rocket launcher in that small cloak...

Could that be a Superpower Item with a spatial attribute?

The rocket landed in front of Wen Wen. He hastily jumped high, and after the severe explosion, he landed back on the ground, abandoning the strange pose which was only suitable for dodging bullets.

The blast from that rocket was strong, much more powerful than a normal rocket.

However, Wen Wen wasn’t one to be easily daunted. Seeing her rocket had only spurred his competitive spirit further.

"Heh heh, let’s see whose rocket is stronger."

Wen Wen briefly disappeared and reappeared with a rocket launcher in his hand, mounted with a rune-inscribed rocket.

He smirked at Little Red Riding Hood and fired the rocket, catching her unprepared and leaving her covered in soot and dirt.

But she wasn’t upset at all, rather, the fighting spirit in her eyes grew stronger because she realized she had an opponent with firepower similar to hers, and she ought to treat him cautiously.

So she pulled out another rocket and continued to shoot at Wen Wen, and a violent exchange of fire began between the two of them.

At this time, Wen Wen’s disadvantage became apparent: Little Red Riding Hood could replenish her ammunition at any time, whereas Wen Wen had to return to the Sanctuary to reload. This small gap forced Wen Wen to run around frantically.

The loud explosions from the rockets caused all the nearby residents to firmly close their doors and windows, fearing they might get caught in the crossfire.

After hiding for a while, Wen Wen grew impatient. He tired of the constant evasion; this form of combat gave him no advantage.

So he unfolded a pair of glowing wings from his back, extended his hand forward, and a pristine light shield appeared in front of him, blocking the bazooka’s attack.

Both Yan Biqing’s abilities and the Angel’s abilities had been demonstrated by Wen Wen during the Ranger test, so until he could gain a stronger power, Wen Wen planned to use these two constitutions to disguise himself as a superpower user of the Assimilation Realm.

After the dust settled, Wen Wen was unscathed within the light shield, which darkened Little Red Riding Hood’s face. She thought he was trying to match her firepower, so why had he started using his Supernatural Power mid-way?

So Little Red Riding Hood discarded the bazooka and pulled out a Gatling gun from under her cloak!

This Gatling had its own style, but it probably wasn’t as powerful as the Buddha Gatling. Still, facing its thick muzzle made Wen Wen’s scalp tingle.

After all, it was his own Gatling that had pierced the Angel’s shield in the past. Although the Buddha Gatling was undeniably more advanced than Little Red Riding Hood’s Gatling, Wen Wen did not want to resist her metal torrent with just his shield.

So he flapped his wings and soared into the sky, his wings fluttering rapidly. The glowing feathers, like arrows, shot towards Little Red Riding Hood.

Under the dense barrage, Little Red Riding Hood couldn’t control the huge Gatling to attack Wen Wen and had to flee exhaustedly.

Although she was considered a Disaster-Level Monster, most of her strength lay in those powerful weapons. Without them, she was one of the weakest among the monsters of the Disaster-Level.

As she fled, she suddenly recalled the years three years ago.

Back then, she lived in a twisted, immense city dominated by the powerful ’Terrifying Towering Apes’!

These powerful ape monsters, favored by an Overlord, had established cities in many places of the Inner World. The city’s order was dictated by those terrifying apes, and other monsters could only live in their shadows.

Little Red Riding Hood’s grandmother, oppressed under the rule of the Towering Apes, passed away in despair, leaving Little Red Riding Hood utterly alone.

So, she had to rely on trafficking weapons to survive in that giant city.

She had no house, no food, and at night she could only shiver between the buildings.

The city at night was pitch black and ice cold. Even strong monsters could hardly survive without shelter.

Little Red Riding Hood struck a bullet, igniting the gunpowder inside to get some brief warmth and light. In that faint light, she saw delicious food and a warm bed, but they disappeared all too quickly.

She ignited another rocket, and the heat from the rocket kept her away from the cold. This time she saw her grandmother.

But eventually, the rocket, too, lost its light.

Just as she was about to die from the cold, she remembered her grandmother’s words: their family still had a powerful weapon, and with it, one could achieve happiness!

So she used that weapon to rob a monster store, obtained sufficient supplies, and even repelled the patrol team of the "Terrifying Towering Apes."

Finally, she escaped the terrifying giant city and made her way to the real world...
