Chapter 242: Chapter 240 Escape

Wen Wen was watching the battle from an unnoticed corner when suddenly, a black meteor fell from the sky.

After the smoke had cleared, a giant bat monster was struggling on the ground, and standing on the bat monster was a Female Demon Hunter in the Mastery Realm.

The Female Demon Hunter twisted the neck of the bat monster and then stared straight at Wen Wen, whose head was the only part showing.

Wen Wen’s mouth twitched, and he put a finger to his lips, pleading in a whisper, "Shh... don’t make a noise, I’m a good guy, I’m just here to watch the excitement... "

The Female Demon Hunter nodded, signifying she understood Wen Wen, and then she opened her mouth and shouted, "There’s a member of the Profane Blood here, don’t let him get away!"

After she shouted, several Demon Hunters rushed toward Wen Wen, three of whom were in the Assimilation Realm!

"I said I’m a good guy, you stupid xxx..."

Wen Wen surged out from the ground and took off running, cursing as he fled.

The Female Demon Hunter wiped her nose and replied, "Take a look in the mirror, you say you’re a good guy, does anyone believe that?"

"I believe!"

A superpower user wielding a Gatling gun popped out from the side, firing at Wen Wen while snarling, "I believe you’re a good guy, so why don’t you stop, and we can have a nice chat about life, hmm?"

"I believe in you, my ass, you dirty old man, you’re awfully bad."

Wen Wen glanced back, and his face darkened; the Hunter Association had long set up a dragnet here, and even now, it wouldn’t be easy for Wen Wen to escape.

But Wen Wen was already prepared for this; he pulled out a phone and dialed a number he had already readied.

Once the call connected, Wen Wen transformed into a beam of green light and disappeared before everyone’s eyes.

The many Demon Hunters looked at each other in confusion. After searching the spot for a while, they went off in search of other targets.

Everyone knew that it was nearly impossible to completely wipe out the Profane Blood in this operation.

And it was inevitable that some would escape.

So, they didn’t need to cling to Wen Wen.

...

"Welcome to ’Midnight Emotions,’ your sun, my heart. I am your good friend, Zeng Chichi!"

Inside the broadcasting studio of Yanling City Radio Station, a slightly overweight man in a blue short-sleeved shirt was reading a pre-selected script with passion and emotion.

It was already midnight, and practically no one would listen to his broadcast, so in recent days, he often added some strange things to the broadcast, but no one ever noticed.

Suddenly, the phone in front of Zeng Chichi rang, and he hurriedly picked it up.

A call meant there was a listener!

The moment he answered the call, a burly figure jumped out from the phone and looked at Zeng Chichi with a creepy gaze.

Zeng Chichi quickly covered his clothes and retreated to the corner, looking in terror at the man dressed somewhat pervertedly.

That man, of course, was Wen Wen.

"Who are you, and what are you going to do?"

"Your broadcast is very nice to listen to, believe in yourself, don’t give up on yourself." Wen Wen patted Zeng Chichi on the shoulder, said a few lines of feel-good pop psychology, then opened the window and jumped straight down from the upper floor.

Zeng Chichi, touched by the sight of Wen Wen’s retreating figure, felt moved for the first time someone had encouraged him like this.

So, he dialed the police.

"Hello, is this the police? I’m calling from Yanling City Radio Station, a pervert just jumped down from the fifth floor."

...

Wen Wen didn’t bother with Zeng Chichi; he trusted that the Hunter Association would handle the rest.

After running for a while, Wen Wen returned to the Sanctuary and switched back to his normal state, quietly slipping back into his room at the inn.

He suddenly appeared at the radio station from Lishui Villa, using the ability of Yan Biqing, of course.

Yan Biqing’s body had not fully recovered yet, and using his physique carried certain risks, but his ability was already usable.

However, it was necessary to exercise restraint when using it, or it would slow down his recovery.

This was an escape route Wen Wen had prepared for himself long ago. He was willing to go on a rescue mission, naturally with preparations for how to escape if he were to be discovered.

As for why he chose that particular program, it was just a matter of Wen Wen’s perverse taste.

"Once Yan Biqing is fully restored, I’ll be able to do much more, at least secure some additional benefits," he thought.

The rescue operation, seemingly effortless for Wen Wen, would have likely been fatal several times over for anyone else.

For instance, if he had investigated deeper during his initial recon of Lishui Villa, he might very well have been targeted by the Profane Blood and wouldn’t have had the chance to even speak out.

Many of Wen Wen’s actions may seem reckless, but he always planned his own exit strategies before taking any action, never truly putting himself in a desperate situation.

"Let’s see what treasures I’ve managed to bring back this time," he mused.

He rubbed his hands together and spilled all the items he had taken from the Profane Blood onto the table.

Most of the stash consisted of various types of superpower materials like Gold Iron and Jade Stones, but there were only three usable Supernatural Items.

The count was small, but this was to be expected. No superpower user organization often leaves Supernatural Items to collect dust in a warehouse.

Wen Wen managed to take three items, having already chosen his targets in advance while bickering with Yang Sheng.

The three items were a Sword Sheath for a Short Sword, a melon peel hat with a rather rustic look, and lastly, a black tie.

After briefly studying them, Wen Wen figured out the abilities of these items.

First was the Sword Sheath, which would continually nurture Sword Qi when a sword was inserted into it. When drawn, the Sword Qi would be released along with the blade—the longer the Short Sword stayed in the sheath, the stronger the accumulated Sword Qi.

Wen Wen took a particular liking to this item; even though the sheath didn’t match his current Rune Short Sword, his Sword was self-made and could be modified to fit.

That melon peel hat could alter its shape and color to some extent when worn. Its main ability was to change the appearance of Wen Wen’s clothes!

With this hat, Wen Wen wouldn’t have to worry about indecent exposure, even if he chose to go without underwear all the time!

As for the black tie, it could transform into a Short Sword at any moment, and the blade was quite sharp.

However, Wen Wen was hardly lacking in weapons, so he planned to gift this tie to Feng Ruixing, who was always dressed in a suit—it would complement him nicely.

Next, Wen Wen carried two large buckets of water into a cell.

This cell was where Wen Wen temporarily placed the employees from Lishui Villa, preparing to interrogate them there.

In Wen Wen’s view, it would have been best to just chop these people into pieces and feed them to the Scavenging Demon.

Though he could think it, he couldn’t actually do it.

Having gained strength, Wen Wen never hesitated to kill those irredeemable scum.

But he always avoided deciding someone’s life or death with a simple judgment, fully aware that if he ever fully indulged himself, he would be no different from those scum.

Today, he could kill those he deemed deserving without a second thought.

Tomorrow, he could carefully consider and kill the innocent.

Eventually, killing would become an effortless task for him.

In Wen Wen’s heart, there was always a strict line he held onto, which he never relaxed.

Because he knew, once he relaxed, loss of control would follow.
