Catastrophe Containment Facility
Chapter 227 - 225: Bomb Maniac

Chapter 227: Chapter 225: Bomb Maniac

Thirty seconds later, the bullet hole in Chu Wei’s head instantaneously restored itself, and then he quickly climbed up from the ground, glanced at Wen Wen and asked, "Did it work?"

"That’s right, it worked."

Wen Wen let Three Cubs take the risk for two reasons.

The first reason was that Wen Wen needed to test if this method was viable; Three Cubs could freely change its body length, allowing its tail to probe outside while its body remained inside the hotel.

This way, even if the method wasn’t practical and it was attacked, Wen Wen could still ensure its safety.

Secondly, they were unclear about the situation outside, so sending Three Cubs first would give them an extra lookout when it was their turn to leave.

The nearly mature Three Cubs possessed remarkably strong hidden abilities, able to escape with ease even if it encountered any danger.

Moreover, Three Cubs could also keep watch over those ordinary people about to leave, preventing them from wandering off.

Seeing Three Cubs successfully make it outside, the expressions of the three ordinary people varied.

Lu Yu was delighted, Wu Fengxia was bewildered, while Zheng Shengli looked utterly distressed.

From their expressions, Wen Wen could infer their respective standings.

Lu Yu was likely an ordinary person who had accidentally stumbled into the game, while Zheng Shengli probably still harbored thoughts of protecting his granddaughter.

Perhaps because a ’hunter’ had managed to escape, the next dance came swiftly, with five cards appearing in front of the statue; this time, the method of selecting ’prey’ was a game of high card.

The cards were dealt face down this time, and Wen Wen couldn’t meddle covertly; the only thing to do was to pray that Chu Wei’s luck was truly that bad.

Nevertheless, in the end, Chu Wei drew the smallest card once again, becoming the ’prey’ once more.

Wen Wen looked at Chu Wei with a bizarre expression and said, "This ability of yours to lose whenever you gamble, it’s almost reaching the level of Supernatural Power, isn’t it? I refuse to believe that Zheng Yi didn’t cheat."

Chu Wei chuckled and said, "How else would I dare say that as long as I’m here, you won’t die if you don’t do anything foolish?"

At this point, Wen Wen was beginning to believe that Chu Wei was indeed a superpower user of the Assimilation Realm.

Although his combat ability wasn’t strong, his capability was downright game-breaking.

He appeared so weak, presumably because his ability was too powerful, leaving no Superpower to use on his own body.

Wen Wen was somewhat tempted to recruit Chu Wei as a Containment Officer. With his ability, the Sanctuary would be much safer for any type of group activity in the future as it grew and expanded.

Yet, Chu Wei seemed unfazed by threats and lacked any demands, so Wen Wen would have to consider a long-term strategy for him.

Since the prey had been chosen, the plan would proceed as usual.

Wen Wen’s eyes turned blood red, and directly controlled Lu Yu to shoot at Chu Wei’s head.

After Chu Wei was completely breathless, Wen Wen spoke in a low voice, "Awei is dead, the timer starts now!"

Then, Lu Yu quickly ran out of the hotel, encountering no attacks.

Even if Lu Yu seemed fine, Wen Wen couldn’t relax and let him do it on his own, instead controlling his actions; who knew if the guy was an undercover operative sent by that little girl.

Next, Wen Wen followed the same procedure, and amid repeated declarations of "Awei is dead," he sequentially sent out Wu Fengxia and Zheng Shengli.

Now within the hotel, only Wen Wen and Chu Wei remained.

Chu Wei climbed up from the ground for the fourth time, shook his head a bit, then rapped his skull with his hand, saying, "You know, after being shot in the head four times, I feel like my brain’s gotten a bit sharper."

"Perhaps the bullets flushed out some of the water in your head."

Wen Wen quipped before continuing to speak to Chu Wei, "Next, I’m going to destroy this game. You don’t have a problem with that, do you?"

Chu Wei shook his head and replied, "I think you should worry about yourself; I am The Undead."

"Then I’ll just let loose and get to work," Wen Wen confirmed once more.

Pointing at Wen Wen’s bag, Chu Wei said, "Do you have enough firepower? If not, there are many other types of bombs in that bag..."

Thinking of those bombs, Wen Wen suddenly felt his scalp tingle and promptly returned them to Chu Wei.

"Keep an eye on your things and be careful not to set them off by accident; I don’t want to die by your hand."

If those bombs really detonated together, Wen Wen wasn’t sure he wouldn’t be blown to pieces, considering the chewing gum bomb was just the tip of the iceberg in that bag...

Next, Wen Wen opened his briefcase and took out his RPG rocket launcher.

Before joining the Association, his ammunition had been all used up, but after officially joining the Hunters Association, Wen Wen took advantage of his position to replenish enough ammo to splurge on.

Destroying the hotel was obviously most convenient if Wen Wen did it himself, but he didn’t want to reveal too much in front of Chu Wei, so the rocket launcher was the best choice.

Alright, Wen Wen just felt like blowing things up.

When Chu Wei saw Wen Wen’s rocket launcher, his eyes nearly popped out.

"Bro, you’ve really got a lot of cool toys. I have several rocket launchers myself, but they’re not practical for missions."

"Plus, that case of yours is really something. If I had one too, heh heh... But where did you put that case earlier? How come I didn’t see you carrying it before?"

Wen Wen rolled his eyes and said, "I’ve been holding it all along; you just didn’t notice it."

"Impossible!" Chu Wei argued.

"Heh, what’s so impossible about it? I’m wearing black underwear right now, did you see it?"

Chu Wei found himself at a loss for words and could only mutter under his breath, "Underwear is not the same as a briefcase..."

Actually, Wen Wen had stashed the briefcase in the Sanctuary before, and he wasn’t wearing any underwear...

Ignoring Chu Wei, Wen Wen’s lips curled into an exaggerated smile as he hoisted the rocket launcher and pulled the trigger, his expression turning somewhat ferocious amid the hot glare and dust.

Chu Wei shrank back, thinking this guy seemed even crazier about bombs than him.

One shot after another, the hotel was left shattered and ragged, like a watermelon trampled by a sow.

That murky energy was everywhere, attempting to repair the hotel, but it was too slow and soon overwhelmed.

In a hurry, Wen Wen stowed the rocket launcher and revealed his black gloves, cradling his head.

Just as he finished, clear cracks appeared in the space inside the hotel, then suddenly exploded outwards like shattering glass!

In that instant, Wen Wen felt as if his body was under attack by a tearing force.

The intensity of the attack was probably at the lower end of Disaster Level, but it was an attack with no blind spots!

The damage was fleeting, and once it was over, Wen Wen dusted off his clothes, which didn’t even have a wrinkle on them.

You should know that Wen Wen’s uniform could now directly withstand Demon Hunting Bullets!

Chu Wei, however, was not so lucky—he had turned into a pile of debris.

Thirty seconds later, beside Wen Wen, Chu Wei appeared out of nowhere, while the debris on the ground gradually vanished.

Wen Wen’s eyelids twitched slightly; this guy’s ability was simply invincible!

But... although Chu Wei could come back to life, his clothes could not.

So now, Chu Wei... was stark naked!
