Catastrophe Containment Facility

Chapter 164: Chapter 162: Tying up Loose Ends

Scarface had not realized which was Room No. 5 until he saw Hu Youling and then it clicked.

This was the first time he had laid eyes on such a beautiful woman. Being sent to this cell for a mistake seemed not so bad after all...

Regrettably, his fantasy was too far-fetched, as he had no idea what he was about to face.

You see, Hu Youling had already endured far too long!

"Other than this cell block, you are forbidden to go anywhere else. You are also responsible for cleaning this place. Furthermore, if any other Containment Officers come here, you must strive to serve them, but you’re not allowed to reveal any information about me and these monsters,"

With each sentence Wen Wen spoke, a flicker passed over Scarface’s head. The words turned into rules that integrated into his body, preventing him from defying any of Wen Wen’s orders, even if Wen Wen ordered him to die.

"Also, from this moment on, you have no name, no past. You are merely a permanent prison guard for the Catastrophe Containment Facility, to be called Disaster Pawn One."

Wen Wen gestured, and shortly after, a puppet in black silk came carrying a set of clothes, the uniform of a prison guard.

In time, Wen Wen would commission a batch of masks for the guards, to ensure no one could recognize them by their appearance.

"This should be fine. Tsk, I was too hasty in killing earlier—would have been better to turn them into prison guards."

Now renamed Disaster Pawn One, Scarface was still somewhat bewildered, not yet comprehending that he had gone from a big boss to a mere pawn.

"I have always been true to my word. I promised to introduce you to a beautiful woman, so I cannot go back on that,"

Wen Wen opened the door to Hu Youling’s cell and let an enraptured Disaster Pawn One inside.

He then coldly said to Hu Youling, "I’m giving you one hour. Do whatever you please during that hour, but do not let him die, nor rob him of his ability to move."

Then with a wave of his hand, a barrier rose around Hu Youling’s cell, and no one knew what transpired within.

Since being captured by Wen Wen, Hu Youling was the only monster who had not received any rewards.

For the other monsters, Wen Wen could grant them rewards when pleased, but other than men, Hu Youling desired nothing else.

Thus, after recruiting the prison guards, Wen Wen’s first thought was to reward Hu Youling.

Well, Xu Hai hadn’t enjoyed any rewards either and had been exploited for his worth, but Wen Wen overlooked that.

After all, he wasn’t good-looking.

An hour later, Disaster Pawn One emerged from the cell with a face greenish-gray, his steps faltering. Glancing back at the radiant Hu Youling inside the cell, he shuddered.

He never wanted to return to this cell again; that one hour had felt longer than an entire day.

The delightful scenario he had anticipated was nowhere to be found. What existed was nothing but terror and predation!

With only an hour to her disposal, Hu Youling didn’t bother with fancy tricks; satisfying her needs was enough.

Henceforth, Disaster Pawn One worked dutifully, inspiring other staff members within the facility to also take their responsibilities very seriously.

The entire purpose of these guards’ diligent work was to distance themselves from a bewitching beauty.

...

After dealing with the prison guard matter, Wen Wen returned to the previous room. After a moment of thought, he collected all four bodies into the Sanctuary.

Since he had already made one person disappear, it seemed better to make their disappearance more thorough.

Next, Wen Wen picked up the camera they had used before and started to scrutinize the images of his own plight.

As per Wen Wen’s instructions, the thugs had been photographing all the while they tormented him.

In the Federation, cameras are very expensive and can almost be considered a luxury.

Photographic cameras are one thing, but video cameras are even more so, which is why there aren’t surveillance cameras everywhere on the streets.

"Tsk tsk, I really can endure, even I admire myself."

Wen Wen became more and more amused as he watched, similar to someone who enjoys collecting their own videos to watch for enjoyment, Wen Wen felt a vague sense of pleasure as he watched himself being tortured by those thugs.

After enjoying the footage, Wen Wen took the camera’s storage card out and inserted it into the computer, transferring the more tragic photos to another storage card.

As for the original card, Wen Wen planned to keep it as a collectible.

That was because the original card contained images of Wen Wen killing those thugs, something he could never let Lin Zheyuan and the others see.

As long as Lin Zheyuan saw how pitiful Wen Wen was, the fact that Wen Wen killed those thugs could be covered up.

The affairs of a few scumbags, as long as there’s a passable reason, the Hunter Association won’t bother to investigate too carefully.

Indeed, Wen Wen planned to confess to the murder.

Because the deaths of those people couldn’t be hidden, whether it was Zhao Jinwu or Jiao Xinlei, who had seen Wen Wen being kidnapped, too many people knew about it, so it was better to confess proactively.

As for the disappearing bodies, Wen Wen would say it was due to his abilities, after all, that was the explanation he had given for the disappearance of those monsters before.

After handling everything, Wen Wen began to recall that state.

Between madness and reason, there’s a tipping point, and as long as he mastered that tipping point, he could trigger that state.

While in that state, his strength and speed remained the same, but he could use all the abilities of the current constitution holder.

And although his strength and speed did not change, his way of combat did, allowing him to fully utilize his own power, no longer crudely.

Of course, there were side effects, such as inheriting some of the monsters’ quirks and weaknesses.

For example, when triggering the Vampire Constitution, Wen Wen would become afraid of sunlight and develop a thirst for blood.

Of course, he didn’t need to maintain that state all the time, he only needed to switch during combat.

...

Early in the morning, Wen Wen and Lin Zheyuan came out of his office together and headed to the conference room.

He had just confessed to Lin Zheyuan about murdering people, and as he expected, Lin Zheyuan didn’t probe into it too deeply.

They were just a few social dregs who attacked an official Demon Hunter; besides, Wen Wen had evidence, and Lin Zheyuan didn’t care about their lives.

As soon as he entered, Lin Lu jumped over, looking at Wen Wen with a hint of excitement: "I heard you were kidnapped by ordinary people."

The others also looked curiously at Wen Wen, for it was rare for a Demon Hunter to be kidnapped by a gang.

Yan Xiu appeared uninterested, but the large question mark on his mask gave him away.

"Uh... I was still recovering from serious injuries, and for a moment I wasn’t vigilant... and..." Wen Wen vaguely explained.

To Wen Wen’s explanation, everyone scoffed, wondering just how inattentive someone had to be to let a superpower user be kidnapped by ordinary people.

This guy must have some secret he couldn’t reveal.

However, the others didn’t pursue it further; after all, which superpower user doesn’t have unspeakable secrets?
