Catastrophe Card King

Chapter 1954: Chapter 590: Moon God Catherine Carter

Leonard Churchill led two disciples along with various mercenary groups bearing assorted flags, heading north.

The location of the Alliance Headquarters had long been exposed, and there was no need to hide it.

Only by thoroughly instilling fear in those southern continent lords can the endless troubles be cut off.

To the north lies the Red Ridge Mountains, the core area rich in Demonic Absorption Green Copper and Demonfallen Black Iron mines.

The large army assembled by the Simon House is gathered south of the Red Ridge Mountains, while Catherine Carter’s Alliance Army is to the north.

The forces face off across the mountains, with daily skirmishes of varying sizes, having fought for nearly a month with no decisive victor on either side.

Leonard Churchill arrived with the Mercenary Corps at the military stronghold of Duke Simon’s Mansion, inspecting the defenses. The tall nine-story magic tower had already been erected, making it indeed easy to defend and hard to attack.

The famed Ninth Tier Green Dragon was nowhere in sight, but the camp did host many large mercenary groups known across the Southern Continent, as well as a fair number of top-tier card masters.

If the Alliance Army didn’t mind the battle casualties, they could probably take it, but there was no need for that.

Not finding the Green Dragon, Leonard Churchill didn’t linger at the stronghold but continued heading north.

Along the mountain path, the three of them climbed steep trails only traversable by mountain sheep, heading north.

Though the mountain path was rugged, they walked as if on flat ground.

If it weren’t for bringing the two little ones, Leonard Churchill would have arrived long ago.

However, having two tagalongs did add some fun.

While traveling, the two youngsters didn’t stop bickering.

"Isa, I’ve told you, if in chess, you can’t at least draw with me, then you won’t be able to beat me in a fight either."

"Hmph, fighting isn’t the same as chess! You know nothing of my prowess. In the family, no one of the same tier is my match. Your strength isn’t even a tenth of mine, how can you win? Moreover, I’m not even transformed yet..."

"There’s something called ’Skill Breaks Power’... I told you to listen to the teacher’s guidance more often, but you didn’t believe me. Now you don’t even know where the gap is, let alone how to win... forget it, explaining won’t make you understand."

"Darcy, you annoying guy, let’s have a match if you dare."

"I’m not interested... Besides, the teacher said I should go easy on you. Given you’re such a rotten chess player, the fact I played so many games with you is already because I’m your senior looking after you..."

"You...!!! Darcy, you Mushroomhead dummy, I challenge you to a duel!"

"..."

Leonard Churchill walked in front, listening to the daily banter of his two disciples, and a slight smile appeared on his lips.

Although Isabel verbally acknowledged him as her teacher, as a proud young lady, she was still unconvinced at heart.

After all, her father was already a peak human expert, so meeting others naturally brought some sense of superiority.

Not to mention Leonard Churchill was from such a "backwater" place like the East Wilderness.

Leonard Churchill, of course, wouldn’t quibble with a young girl.

There needed to be some adjustment between a teacher and disciple.

Arrogance is inherent to Dragon Descendants, the advantage of their Life Pattern engraved in their bloodlines—it’s unusual for a genius not to have a touch of arrogance.

And Mushroomhead Darcy was a straightforward boy, still too young to understand matters of the world.

A proud young lady like her was just right to polish a simple boy like Darcy.

...

The three continued north, quickly crossing the war zone, reaching the headquarters of the Allied Forces.

From afar, the iron camp was visible, filled with countless black cannons and steam smokestacks.

Leonard Churchill glanced over and his eyes narrowed slightly.

Because he sensed a strong aura of a Great Dragon, along with lingering waves of high-level toxic law.

Leonard Churchill knew this to be the remnants of the Ninth Tier Green Dragon’s aura.

Beside him, Isabel couldn’t help but tremble all over, unable to resist the bloodline suppression inherent to any Dragon Descendant.

Though Mushroomhead Darcy’s face was pale from the Dragon’s Might, he was more thoughtful, asking: "Teacher, is this the aura of a pureblood giant dragon?"

"Yes."

Leonard Churchill nodded and said calmly, "Elsewhere, spotting a pureblood giant dragon is not easy. Savor this pressure well, as it will greatly help you comprehend your own ’Intention’ and subsequent ’Divine Power’."

Upon hearing this, Isabel proudly muttered, "I already have Dragon’s Might..."

While Darcy earnestly nodded, "Yes, teacher."

Leonard Churchill observed the differing reactions of the two disciples and smiled slightly.

It must be said: Darcy’s talent was truly extraordinary.

A few months ago, when they met, he was a refugee from the orphanage, and now he’s already a Third Tier card master.

His advancement speed exceeded even Leonard Churchill’s pace in the past, seemingly experiencing no bottlenecks.

Whatever Tier knowledge he encountered, he learned it instantly and understood any teachings effortlessly.

After all, he was a "Pursuer of Light."

Leonard Churchill thought it through and understood.

It seemed that this Mushroomhead had passed down the unique talent of the Pursuer of Light lineage through a very special method.

In comparison, Darcy’s talent was even more remarkable than Isabel’s high pure Dragon Descendant talent.

But the two youngsters weren’t aware of it.

....

The Allied Headquarters had evidently suffered an attack recently.

There were remnants of green poison everywhere in the camp, with highly corrosive toxic gas permeating the air, and the iron defenses corroded into a pitted state. Mechanical Warriors wearing gas masks were organizing the cleanup.

However, such toxins had no effect on Leonard Churchill at this point, and he led his two disciples straight through.

The sentinels immediately noticed the three strangers suddenly walking into the camp.
