Catastrophe Card King -
Chapter 1913 - 578: The God Stealer White Family’s Repeated Side-Hopping
Chapter 1913: Chapter 578: The God Stealer White Family’s Repeated Side-Hopping
From the very beginning, when choosing Hell’s Gate Canyon for the decisive battle, the Alliance knew their chances of winning were not great.
After all, the difference in numbers was too large between the two sides.
Even if they won a head-on clash, it would inevitably be an extremely brutal and costly battle for both sides.
Such a result would only benefit a few undying Outer Gods and possibly those South Continent folks secretly watching, holding no significance for the Alliance.
Therefore, from the outset, the Alliance’s high command had prepared two strategies.
They would fight to the death with all their might while looking for a chance to end the battle early.
And Leonard Churchill could think of two best victory methods: either "assassinate the king" or deal with those three Outer Gods.
Assassinating King Arthur of Orlan was extremely difficult; almost no one in the Alliance could accomplish it.
Comparatively, the second plan was more feasible.
It so happened that Leonard Churchill’s abilities had a certain countereffect against Outer Gods.
He was also the only one who could execute this plan silently and stealthily.
Meanwhile, Tracy Garcia had already summoned the divine body of the Weeping Angel to prevent the Alliance command post from being wiped out by the Mechanical Angels.
And Leonard Churchill quietly infiltrated the enemy’s base camp.
....
The million-strong army of the Orlan Royal Court spanned several dozen kilometers, with hundreds of large and small Machinery Cities marching grandly across the battlefield toward Jilan Defense Line.
The two sides had been fighting for so long that dozens of Machinery Cities had stalled on the battlefield, and the remaining ones had already reached a few miles from the defense line.
Both armies were engaged in fierce urban combat at various positions throughout the canyon.
Meanwhile, the Machinery Cities and the remaining artillery positions on the canyon rock wall were also engaged in a bombardment duel.
From a high vantage point, you would see the fiery flashes of intense crossfire forming a long fiery serpent in front of the Jilan Mountain Range.
This distance was nearly face-to-face, with hardly any difference in cannon range and accuracy, turning into a brutal melee of gunfire.
"Boom," "Boom," "Boom..."
With close-range bombardment, the Alliance’s giant shells could easily punch large holes in the defensive steel plates of the Machinery Cities.
Meanwhile, Orlan’s artillery could just as easily blast the Alliance’s gun emplacements on the rock wall, sending debris flying everywhere.
The gunfire had never been so intense.
Both sides reached the desperate final moment.
The Orlan Legion was fierce and aggressive; the Alliance held firm without retreating.
Meanwhile, on the other side.
Leonard Churchill had already quietly infiltrated.
The Machinery Cities ground deep furrows several meters into the earth, bodies were everywhere, and blood had stained the soil a glaring red.
The moonlight in the sky was at its fullest, like the eyes of Moon God Arachne, observing every corner of the battlefield touched by moonlight.
Yet no one noticed a shadow under a Machinery City where the moonlight couldn’t reach, as a figure silently emerged from the darkness.
It was Leonard Churchill, who had come stealthily.
He looked up at the towering Machinery City beside him, over a hundred meters tall, numbered "071," and breathed a sigh of relief.
Not being detected early was already completing the first step.
This was all predicated on previous observations; it was one of the Four Pillars of the Moon God.
Despite the three Outer Gods fighting so fiercely on the battlefield, such large-scale God Skills also required a consumption of Transcendent power.
Currently, none of the three Outer Gods had condensed their own divine bodies, so the Divine Power could only be borne by the altar.
If Leonard Churchill guessed correctly, the Spirit Medium Divine Power stored from previously sacrificed cannon fodder was within these four pillar Machinery Cities.
...
Having confirmed the target, Leonard Churchill did not delay, and with a backhand, he pulled out two Curse God Cards, one grey and one colorful, printed with a Joker image.
He knew he could come up with this base-stealing method.
The enemy would certainly think of it too.
Leonard Churchill never expected the enemy not to have heavy defenses, just thought that the enemy might not easily discover him.
Furthermore, with all the masters of Orlan Royal Court in action, Leonard Churchill didn’t think that even if discovered, anyone could stop him.
After checking his surroundings and not finding anything unusual, Leonard Churchill softly chanted the incantation: "Poker Round · Magician’s Eye Shield... My figure is unseen by others."
As soon as he finished speaking, the magic pattern on the [Colorful JOKER] Curse God Card lit up with spirit light.
The Spell was instantly formed, and Leonard Churchill’s entire being became more ethereal, as if he had merged into the environment, ignored by everyone as if he were just part of the backdrop.
Forcibly altering the rules, that was this Curse Card’s power.
Now at the Eighth Rank, with this Curse God Card’s enhancement, Leonard Churchill reckoned it would take at least a Ninth Tier perception to detect him.
Orlan Royal Court had very few who could achieve that.
But it wasn’t over yet!
Leonard Churchill’s other [Grey JOKER] in hand also lit up simultaneously, replicating this rule.
At the same time, the [Colorful JOKER] spirit light shone again, and a second rule halo was bestowed upon him: "Poker Round · Horus’ Eye... I can see all truths of the world."
This rule was to prevent falling victim to the Moon God’s pervasive Illusion Technique.
By utilizing the properties of the two Curse God Cards, Leonard Churchill simultaneously had two rule-level halos.
Though combat power wasn’t significantly enhanced, the likelihood of being discovered was extremely low.
It was the perfect disguise he could think of.
Having completed all this, Leonard Churchill quietly walked toward the "number 071" Machinery City not far away.
Controlling Air upwards, he stepped onto the steel staircase a dozen meters above the ground.
This Machinery City was not an offensive type, so it wasn’t equipped with many cannons.
On the city walls, stitched together with huge rivets, stood Moon God Guard sentries in white robes everywhere.
These were the most faithful followers of Moon God Arachne, and killing them would surely draw the Moon God’s attention. Their perception was even inherently linked to the God, tug on one, and the whole system would respond.
However, Leonard Churchill had no intention of sneaking around and strutted up the stairs openly.
