Chapter 793: Chapter 423: Ghosts Have No Temperature_1

"I’m really fine. As you see, I’m absolutely fine. No matter how big that shark was, it’s still just something to eat. Why are you crying?" Seeing his wife tear up, Yan Fei was immediately worried.

Deep inside, he wished he could blow up the TV station right away. If not for the broadcast, his wife would have had no idea how large that shark was.

Contrary to Yan Fei’s expectations, his words and his nervous gestures seemed to soothe his wife. With every lack of poise, she wiped her face, giving an almost tearful smile. "I know you’re okay, I’m just a bit terrified. I’m fine now..."

Yan Fei was somewhat baffled, standing beside his wife, not knowing if she was genuinely okay or just pretending to be okay.

"I’m fine, it’s just that I got really scared seeing people deliberately pointing the camera at the shark’s mouth. I’m fine now..." she comforted him, patting the spot next to her, inviting him. "Come, sit here, hold me!"

Yan Fei immediately sat down quietly and obediently.

Then his wife used him as her backrest and pillow, snuggling into him, pulling his arm around herself. "Hold me like this. If you ever face danger again, remember if anything happens to you..."

She paused before she continued in a melancholy tone, "If you turn into a ghost, remember, don’t wander off. Wait for me to come find you. But, even if I do find you, ghosts don’t have body warmth, you wouldn’t be able to feel my warmth if you held me..."

A shiver ran down Yan Fei’s spine, he remained silent for a moment, adjusting his body to let his wife lie more comfortably.

Both of them remained silent, just quietly watching the bright lights from afar outside the window...

After a while, Yan Fei’s wife suddenly shifted her head as if she was restless. Shortly after, she raised her horrified face, her voice shaking with alarm. "Yan Xiaofei, why is your heartbeat so slow? Are you ill?"

"Eh?" Yan Fei was caught off guard.

"Really. It’s incredibly, incredibly slow..." His wife placed her hand on his left chest, frantically trying to feel it. "Don’t you feel it? Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?"

"What could possibly happen to me, look, I’m fine. Is it just because I’m lying still that it’s a bit slow? What if I exercise a bit, and then you try again?" Yan Fei asked, having never paid attention to this issue before, he had no idea what was going on.

"Even without exercising, it shouldn’t be this slow. What on earth is happening to you?" His wife nearly started crying again.

Yan Fei promptly sat up, "I guess when I’m inactive, my heartbeat slows down! Let’s see, I’ll move around a bit and it’ll be fine..."

"Are you sure you’re okay?" His wife got off of him with doubt in her eyes, tears welling up in her eyes again.

"Absolutely sure, look at me." Yan Fei deliberately flexed his muscles, looking around the room before deciding he couldn’t really do any other exercise in the cramped space. He simply lay down on the ground and started doing push-ups. "Do you think a sick person could be capable of chasing down a shark to cut its fins? Don’t worry!"

Given his monstrous strength, he could probably do push-ups for half a month and only feel hungry rather than tired. After a few push-ups, he realized, "This doesn’t seem very effective, does it? Too little exercise. Let me try a different posture..."

Saying this, he sprang up on his toes and stood head straight down, "Ever seen push-ups done this way? These are inverted push-ups, haha..."

After doing a few, he complained again, "I guess this still won’t do. Let me try it with one arm..."

Even one arm didn’t work, so he changed to only using his fingers. Then, he started reducing the number of fingers until he was only using one finger to support himself on the ground. Yet, he was still complaining, "Why is this not working?"

His wife knew he was simply trying to cheer her up with his antics. She felt a warm sensation but was still worried and scowled, "Can’t you take this seriously? Can’t you see I’m worried? If there is a problem, you should go to the hospital. Don’t think you can’t get sick just because you are generally healthy. Behave yourself!"

Yan Fei was still standing on only one finger when he grimaced at his wife, "Even the One-Finger Zen Push-up doesn’t work... I’m really out of options. How about I run to the ground floor and back? This building is so tall, one round trip should suffice!"

"You just need to do more of them, don’t stop, keep going." His wife spoke while squatting beside him, placing her hand on his chest. "Come on!"

Yan Fei made a weird face and started pumping himself up and down again. After only doing a few, he suddenly had an idea, "I’ve got an idea! You climb on my back, the extra weight might help..."

"Can I do that?" His wife looked worried.

"Hurry up, I’ll know if we can or not. How about I start supporting myself with both hands, then after you’ve climbed on, I’ll switch. Come on!" Yan Fei was still confident enough.

His wife mused over it for a moment. When Yan Fei pulled his legs in, she carefully placed her hands on his knees and delicately tried climbing up. Seeing how cautiously she was moving, Yan Fei urged her on, "Come on, just climb straight up, everything will be fine. Have you forgotten I can lift you with one finger..."

"Hmm!" His wife nodded, clenched her teeth, pushed off with both hands and leaped, twisting her body in mid-air to land on his knees.

Yan Fei tried adjusting her a bit and knew it was no use: "You’re too light, never mind, let’s just roll with this! Are you sitting comfortably? I’m starting."

"Begin!" His wife slapped on his calf. "If you can’t, just tell me..."

As if that’s possible?

After bobbing up and down like a seesaw for a while, his wife suddenly realized something, "Wait, I can’t test your heartbeat by sitting here, don’t move, let me get off."

As she was a yoga practitioner, she easily bent over, placing her hands on the ground and doing a flip to stand up. The hours spent practicing yoga were not wasted at all. She executed this move extremely cleanly and deftly.

However, after that graceful maneuver, her face turned beet red. Looking at the man still standing head down, legs curled and laughing foolishly, she said, "Yan Xiaofei, you perv..."
