Just reminded by someone, everyone started to get worried, and Yan Fei was prepared to get off the car and fight their way through at any moment.

Who would have thought that when they arrived at the third village, the scene that unfolded was even more laughable. A few people collecting tolls, upon seeing two leading cars approaching, actually took a few steps back, pretending like they didn’t notice any cars coming.

Even when the first car drove up beside them, money extended for tolls, they simply looked away, faces shouting ’I see nothing.’ Only when the drivers of the cars responded and had moved past them did those ’I see nothing’ people returned to the roadside and called after the cars to collect the tolls.

After passing this village, everyone in both cars was still worried about being stopped by the police, but they returned to the highway without seeing a single police car. It was only then that everyone’s fears were quelled, and they began to speed up again.

As it was almost time for lunch, the people in the leading car stopped by the roadside, suggesting that they should travel a bit further. They mentioned that they have acquaintances in the county ahead.

Yan Fei agreed readily. Although the Miss hadn’t blamed him, he still didn’t like seeing her scared. Everyone in the car shared his fears of running into more trouble, and naturally, no one objected to their plan.

So they traveled for another two hours, and it was almost three in the afternoon when they finally stopped in a small county for a meal.

During the meal, several enthusiastic young people hurriedly took a few bottles of wine from their car, and, as a form of apology, offered it first to the driver. One bottle of wine was poured into three glasses, and apart from the young boy driving one of the cars abstaining from drinking, the other three gulped down more than a tael of liquor at a stretch.

This was the drinking etiquette in a few cities in the central region, the more one drank to apologize, the more sincere the apology.

The driver initially mentioned he had to drive, but when one of the young men learnt that the Sixth Miss Guo and her secretary could also drive (despite not holding a local license), he immediately offered his reassurances encouraging the driver to drink up!

Before even all the dishes were served, several bottles of liquor had already been downed.

The bodyguard driver was indeed an excellent drinker, but in this land, he had never outdrank many youngsters. If it were not for Yan Fei backing him up, he would have probably drunk himself under the table.

Although the young men had demonstrated some naive behavior on the road, their conduct was commendable. They encouraged the others to drink and eat without asking too many questions about the identity of Miss Guo and the rest, despite their own doubts.

Not asking about their identities didn’t mean they couldn’t ask about anything else. At least, they could ask about Yan Fei and his companions’ intentions for this trip. Yan Fei initially chose this trip just for leisure, finding beef customers was merely a side benefit, and this was not a secret.

The families of these young men were relatively well-off. They introduced themselves mentioning that two of them had families involved in business and two of them had families who were officials. They didn’t elaborate on their positions, presumably they weren’t that high.

Unfortunately, the two young men who were in business had nothing to do with the catering industry, otherwise Yan Fei could have casually inquired if they wanted to buy beef.

When the young men found out that it was Yan Fei’s first time in Gao City and they did not have a place to stay, the leading young man laughed and said, "There are many tourists and hotels here, but it’s a bit of a mixed bag. If you don’t mind, I can help you book one run by a friend of mine, just give them a signal if you need anything. It would be more convenient."

Furthermore, they asked for a tourist map from the reception to give the companions, briefly introducing the nearby attractions and how to get there before leaving.

By the time they all returned to the hotel, even the driver was feeling a bit tired. And the Sixth Miss Guo and her assistant Nana were clearly exhausted after a long day, their voices barely audible when they spoke.

As soon as Yan Fei and Xu Xiaoyan had entered the room, the Miss sulked and ignored him.

"Rascal!" The Miss turned red. "Get out! Go take a shower yourself, I’m going to rest!"

Yan Fei didn’t need to shower; he shamelessly moved even closer, "Then I’ll rest too..."

"Stop fooling around! What if they call us for dinner later?"

With one sentence, Yan Fei exposed his ambitious designs, "I’ve already locked the door..."

The Miss was in good health! She wasn’t too tired, but being in a strange city with him now, she always felt strange, fearing what he might do. That’s why she guarded herself at first.
