Chapter 229: Chapter 90 The Man Walking Up the Walls and Roofs_2

From the initial transformation into the Compsognathus, to the Rapator, and now the Deinonychus, all these dinosaurs are fantastic leapers. Perhaps, the frequency of transformations finally resulted in significant change, enabling him to easily leap two or three meters at a time.

"Ah...." Xu Xiaoyan watched him leap onto a tree without the support of his hands, his body swaying on the branch with the wind. She immediately gave an astonished gasp.

Then she expressed surprise: "Yan Xiaofei, you really can do it! Why haven’t I seen anyone else being able to do this before?"

Because you never saw a whimsical being like me who knows the Seventy-two changes!

Yan Fei snickered inwardly, yet bragged effortlessly, "As long as your Kung Fu is profound, even an iron rod can be ground into a needle. Wall running and rooftop-running naturally are easy for me. If others can’t do it, it’s because their martial arts are not up to the mark. Look at me now, what do you think?"

While speaking, he used the force from the branch beneath his feet to leap towards another tree not far away.

And as before, he effortlessly switched trees.

Then he somersaulted mid-air, landing on the ground amid the girl’s astonishment. He boasted boastfully, "Does this count as wall running now?"

"Not at all!" The girl quickly retorted with a twinkle in her eye, chuckling. "This is a tree, not a house. Come on, follow me to the courtyard, let me see if you can do the same on the roof!"

This girl obviously saw Yan Fei as an entertainer, demanding a performance from him!

But Yan Fei was longing for an opportunity to show off to the girl! He followed the girl who was tugging at him and ran into the cattle yard. The four big dogs immediately got up and followed them, barking along the way.

Entering the backyard through the back door shielded them from outsiders’ view. As soon as they entered the courtyard and Xu Xiaoyan let go of his hand, Yan Fei immediately leapt onto the wall without being urged, and then began running along the top.

He was seen everywhere in an instant, on the cattle shed and on the rooftop above.

The four big dogs foolishly ran around in the yard, barking as they followed his fleeting image, causing the cows, pigs, and chickens to join in the noise - the small courtyard had instantly turned into a lively market.

At the beginning, Yan Fei occasionally shattered a tile or two while jumping, but soon got used to it and everything became effortless.

Watching him ’authentically run along the eaves’, the girl’s eyes gleamed colourful splendour, never leaving his shape for a second.

Ma Chao and Heizi were crushing the feed! When they saw these two running in excitedly, they were surprised at what was happening. Yan Fei was already on the wall from his mighty leap, bouncing a few more times before making his way onto the roof. He then dashed down the ridge and ended up at the cowshed, they simply walked out of the courtyard to get a better look.

Not only the two of them, but also Lin Yumei and Old Cheng were astounded and joined in to watch. Unfortunately only the customer in the front who was buying wine, Fang Xiaoqing missed this chance for an eye-opening experience.

"Holy shit... Is he going to be a martial arts master?" Heizi watched Yan Fei running in circles around the farm and murmured, "Is this what a real-life martial arts master looks like? Why doesn’t it match what I had imagined?"

"What did you imagine it to be like?" Ma Chao asked curiously.

"At least it should be...a heroic handsome bearing...in flowing white robes!" Heizi racked his brain for a few words to describe on the fly. "It couldn’t be like this, wearing nothing but oversized underwear, even his shoes are broken sandals... Moreover, those sandals were modified from worn-out shoes..."

"Pfft..." Lin Yumei, who came out to see what the fun was about, couldn’t help but burst out laughing.

Even Old Cheng chuckled along.

Exactly! Yan Fei’s so-called ’wall-running hero’ look was a bit shabby. Although he looked clean and energetic, his apparel was not flattering. Whenever it was hot, and he did not have to go out, he would be in a singlet, oversized underwear and broken sandals. Moreover, he and Xu Xiaoyan were by the river just then and he wanted to fish in the river. He had taken off his singlet and hadn’t put it on again.

Heizi found that his words drew laughter from the crowd and immediately perked up: "Even if the clothes are a bit poor, he should at least grow a pair of white eyebrows, or maybe four eyebrows, isn’t that a bit more like a hero..."

Old Cheng and Lin Yumei knew who the White-Browed Hero was, but they probably didn’t know who the Four-Browed one was. Old Cheng laughed and said, "Four brows? You’d better hope he didn’t hear you. He’s busy impressing his wife! Imagine what he’d do to you for ruining his game?"

Heizi quickly turned to Xu Xiaoyan, who was entranced watching Yan Fei, and whispered, "Don’t worry, they can’t hear us..."

Seeing that everyone was out to watch him, Yan Fei felt a bit awkward but nonetheless continued his run. He reached the nearest point to the girl, soared into a big somersault, and landed. He then cheerily said, "How’s that? From now on, follow my kung fu training diligently each morning! With enough effort, you can surely do this!"

Even Heizi was skeptical about that statement but dared not contradict him at that moment.

However, the girl believed him, "For how long? You don’t seem to train that hard! Can I achieve that before school starts?"

Old Cheng’s face twitched at the girl’s statement. He had lived a long life, fought battles and roamed across the country, but he had never seen anyone train kung fu to the extent of Yan Fei, who could run effortlessly along roof edges. And this girl hopes to achieve it before school starts...

With such thought, he swiftly turned and went inside.

Seeing this, the others tactfully withdrew, feeling relieved. They couldn’t stand any more of her naiveté. This is a college student! With such a simple mindedness, wouldn’t she get cheated once she steps outside?

Seeing that Heizi was about to leave as well, Yan Fei called out to him, "Heizi, hurry up and clean up the cow dung! I need to start earning money to afford a white outfit and a good pair of sandals. We wouldn’t want people to think we’re cheap, would we?"

The departing fellows exchanged bemused glances.

Heizi thought to himself: Does this guy have dog’s ears? Is he even able to hear my whispers from such a distance? It’s just unbelievable!

Although he cursed in his mind, his face betrayed a mournful expression as he looked at Yan Fei like a wronged woman, without uttering a word.

Having said his bit to Heizi, Yan Fei ignored him, turned to the girl and said with a smile, "Achieving this by the time school starts may be a bit of a stretch. You’d need at least a semester! Remember to start training diligently tomorrow! One semester may not even be enough if you slack off."

Now more sober, the girl looked incredulous, "You’re not lying to me?"

Yan Fei answered seriously, "I’m not! You see, I’ve achieved all this even without much training!"

"Then why can’t others achieve the same? Everyone in your grandpa’s village trains too!"

"They don’t train properly and do not put in real effort. Besides, even if they did, they wouldn’t come over to show us. Real masters are modest and do not boast about their skills all the time!"

"I still don’t believe it. I’ll ask your grandpa when he comes!" The girl remained skeptical.

Yan Fei saw that he couldn’t keep up the charade any longer, especially now that she had brought up his grandfather. If his grandfather were to learn about what he said, he’d give Yan Fei a dressing-down. No one in the village trained properly? Everyone worked their ass off, training during both the coldest and hottest days. He himself, who was more often than not engaging in some random activities like fishing, had the cheek to say he put in real effort?

Looking at the sky, he quickly found an excuse, "Uh-oh, it’s getting late. I need to hurry to the post office to see if the admission notice has arrived. You stay here and read, I’ll be back soon."

With that, he dashed off.

The girl called out from behind, "It’s not that fast! When it arrives, they’ll deliver it... "

Yan Fei didn’t care! He had to check it for himself to be assured. What if it got lost?

Whether the post office in the small town had one delivery man or two, Yan Fei wasn’t sure. However, he had only seen one during his recent daily visits.

He hopped onto his motorcycle and sped off to the post office. The delivery man was out, but a familiar girl at the office recognized him when he arrived. She smiled, "Yan Fei, you really are here every day! Your wife’s admission letter hasn’t arrived yet!"
