Chapter 1776: Chapter 839 Guidance Pit_3

"Meeting at night means there’s still time, right?" Yan Fei was puzzled. "Don’t you fancy that woman?"

"It’s not a matter of time, and it’s not that I don’t fancy her." Meng Si’an hurriedly waved his hands, explaining. "I’ve heard about this girl and considered her. She’s quite attractive, tall, and the key is she’s educated—studied abroad at a young age and graduated as a postgraduate early on, very impressive. I’m just afraid that when we meet, I won’t say the right things. I wanted to ask for your advice—why not accompany me to boost my courage?"

"..." Yan Fei was speechless. You’ve really found the right person. I’ve got a fiancée, but ours was a relationship cultivated since childhood. Thinking back, I don’t know how I managed to catch her.

But a man should never say no.

So Boss Yan began strategizing, "This is easy to fix, you need to show some masculine courage. You’re the pillar at home; what are you afraid of? Think about it—since someone introduced her, surely her family background is similar to yours. Besides, she’s just a bit more educated, prettier, and taller..."

Initially, Meng Si’an listened with confidence, but the longer he listened, the less confident he felt, "Then what kind of qualities do you want in a girl? The way you put it makes me feel less confident. How about you come with me?"

"I’m eager to go home!" Yan Fei didn’t want to go. "You’re on a blind date, bringing me as a third wheel, right?"

"I’m worried about running out of conversation and things getting awkward. Bringing you adds to the atmosphere!" Meng Si’an anxiously said. "Just tell me if you’re going to help or not. We’ve been brothers for so long, I hardly ever ask for anything."

"Your old man said to raise the price of the medicinal wine tenfold, to 8,000 a jar, and slightly reduce the quantity. What do you think?" Yan Fei changed the topic.

"Grandpa’s decision is definitely good," Meng Si’an nodded and continued back to the topic. "It’s settled then. You have to come with me now, or I’ll refuse to get out of your car."

"Why don’t you go by yourself? What’s your plan?" Yan Fei asked.

"I just feel a bit unaccomplished right now," Meng Si’an truly pondered. "Didn’t I say I wanted to start my own business, achieve something, and then talk about this? But now..."

"Now somebody introduced someone you’re satisfied with, and you want to wait until you’ve achieved something to meet her, but time waits for no one, right?" Yan Fei asked again.

"Yes, yes, yes, exactly like that!" Meng Si’an looked at Yan Fei, feeling a sudden sense of understanding, and nodded rapidly.

"Alright, I’ll go with you." Yan Fei said straightforwardly.

"Alright, Brother Fei, you’ll be my savior forever," Meng Si’an expressed gratitude. "Regardless of how things turn out, I won’t forget you..."

Then Yan Fei continued driving, and Meng Si’an started brainstorming what to say upon meeting, insisting on Yan Fei’s input, which was rather annoying to Yan Fei.

Luckily, it’s just this once, bear with it!

After all, Meng Si’an isn’t a bad person, quite nice as a friend.

Yan Fei thought this while accompanying Meng Si’an to a place for a little makeover. Then they arrived at their destination: an upscale fusion-style restaurant.

After parking, Meng Si’an tidied up his clothes and turned to Yan Fei, "How do I look?"

"It’s perfect, no problem at all." Yan Fei glanced casually and said.

"Alright." The nervous Meng Si’an pretended not to notice Yan Fei’s nonchalance. "When we go in, try to make me seem like the main character. Brother Fei, just this once, I’ll owe you a favor, okay?"

"Okay!" Yan Fei nodded and led the way inside, "Let’s go!"

"Yeah, yeah!" Meng Si’an quickly followed, muttering, "Second floor, third table. Long hair, table with..."

After informing the host about the reservation, the host led them to the stairs.

"I’m still a bit nervous," Meng Si’an muttered again while climbing the stairs.

"Don’t worry, be brave," Yan Fei encouraged at the right moment. "You’re just overthinking because you care—trust me, your appearance is absolutely fine."

"Remember to let me be the main character, cooperate with me a bit, show off my brilliance..." Meng Si’an repeatedly advised while walking.

"Don’t worry, hurry up, take the lead..." Yan Fei paused at the second-floor entrance, let Meng Si’an step up, then stopped.

Once Meng Si’an stepped up, he couldn’t help but glance at the designated table.

A long-haired girl was sitting there, and in the vase on the table, a rose swayed gracefully. Though the flower was beautiful, it couldn’t compare to the beauty of the person...

"I see her; she seems even prettier than the rumors..." Meng Si’an was a bit excited, suddenly noticing Yan Fei wasn’t making a move, he couldn’t help but turn, "Come on, what’s wrong?"

"I feel that me going over might not be appropriate?" Yan Fei quietly reminded. "Have you realized that I’m just a little taller than you?"

Meng Si’an turned, finally noticing the beautifully decorated mirror frame next to the doorway.

It wasn’t a proper mirror, the surface held a dreamy-looking oil painting. Yet, it still functioned somewhat like a mirror—at least standing here, both could see their images reflected.

Yan Fei was modest earlier. He wasn’t just a little taller than Meng Si’an—he’s more than half a head taller. Not just taller, but overall a size bigger.

Meng Si’an has a fair, young master look, wearing a casual suit, and for this occasion, added a metal-framed pair of glasses, exuding elegance.

Yan Fei now, without his versatile bag which he previously used to draw unusual things, wears a long trench coat for discretion. If he wore snug short clothing, pulling out tens of thousands in cash would be bewildering, right?

If Yan Fei’s aura fell short, his look could be mistaken for a bodyguard or something similar. But Yan Fei relies on aura, not looks, though his looks aren’t lacking.

Thus, the two standing here seemed like... a boss traveling with a scholarly advisor. fre/ew.ebnovel.c om

Hmm, now they’d call them executive assistants or personal lawyers or finance personnel—the type that, despite not lacking in aura, stands as company to those in prominence.

Overall, even stylish Meng Si’an following him now, unmistakably seemed like an aide.

An extremely fitting companion, perfectly matched.

So Meng Si’an glanced again, checked once more, realizing, despite inexperience, something felt off.

A brief moment later, as Meng Si’an figured it out, he felt like he’d dug his own hole...

More critically, he couldn’t help glancing towards her, noting the girl already raised her head, clearly noticed the two at the door, gazing in the mirror...

In that instant, Meng Si’an felt conflicted, wanting to smack himself: I’m so foolish, I only thought of bringing someone for courage, making him my sidekick. How did I not foresee myself becoming the sidekick...

What a dilemma!
