Chapter 1473: Chapter 710: The Dime Thief Selling Stolen Goods_3

The one not showing skin must have miscalculated the time, for after walking a while, he found that the pre-dawn darkness was about to pass and dawn was on the rise; he had not reached his destination and could not help but break into a jog to quicken his pace.

After jogging for a bit, he arrived on a narrow path and continued to run forward without looking up. The few in the car had been watching him, but before long, someone finally noticed something amiss – next to a grove of trees in the distance, there seemed to be a giant tent that appeared out of nowhere.

Only when they got closer did they realize that it wasn’t any tent, but a pile of ragged tarp covers over something.

At this moment, the person in front was already running through the farmland, trampling over the sprouting Corn Seedlings as he dashed past. The group on the tricycle couldn’t care less about anything else and all hopped off to follow suit.

The disparity became apparent with this run; the young man with the limp was actually the fastest runner, followed by one whose arm didn’t swing much, and then came Chief Pi, the old man.

As they ran, the group couldn’t help but feel shock and awe; despite being worldly and seeing much in their lifetimes, the shapes that those rotten canvas covers outlined were just too... surprising, almost to the point of being horrific.

The closer they ran, the more they were convinced of their guesses, and the more shocked they grew. Even the last one, coughing while running, ignored the strain on his body and desperately gasped for air, running as if for his life, one step deep and one step shallow in the muddy field.

"Hand over the money! This thing’s a bit big, so I won’t make you weigh it. Whatever money you brought, just give it to me!" said the calm man, not showing skin, among the few who managed to get there first in shock. "Doing business requires honesty; if we can’t make a deal this time, there won’t be a next. Think it through."

It was because of this last sentence that a few who were already itching to move stopped in their tracks.

Chief Pi swallowed, took a deep breath, and said, "This is a big deal, how much do you want? We don’t have much on us, just name your price, and in a bit, I’ll have someone send the money over."

"No need, just hand over whatever you three have on you!" Not showing skin glanced up at the few with varying running poses behind him and spoke.

"Alright, alright, quickly take out the money." The one with the less mobile arm reacted first, gesturing to Chief Pi and the young man while he began to pull money out of his pocket. His clumsy hands resulted in a bunch of loose bills and a few even fell to the ground.

Not showing skin just waited, allowing him to pick up the fallen money, then took whatever the other two handed over without looking and turned to leave.

"Hey, why don’t you leave some form of contact? In the future, we can pick it up ourselves?" Chief Pi wouldn’t give up and shouted another question.

The person paused for a moment, then took off running again and soon disappeared from view.

"What are you still looking at? Aren’t you going to make a call, inform the higher-ups to send people here... Right, notify the local police first, have them come quickly and seal off the area. Hurry up..." Chief Pi finished shouting to the one who didn’t respond, then immediately started yelling at his own people.

While talking, he patted himself down, "My phone, where’s my damned phone... Next time I forget my phone, you all line up to slap me... Who has the phone, quickly, quickly..."

Those running up from behind were still in shock, but upon hearing his words, they came to their senses and quickly patted themselves down, and those who were quick pulled out their phones to hand over...
