Chapter 1105: Chapter 570 Adding Feet to a Snake_3

Yan Fei stood up, "Then I’ll bring the deposit slip over tomorrow. Let’s forget about the money; consider it medical expenses for those guys."

Xiaoyan was eager to go out to sea to have fun, and Yan Fei didn’t want to waste any more time here.

A few tens of thousands of dollars were really trivial to him. The money in the cave from his Dinosaur World was even starting to mold—after bringing cattle from Japan and slaughtering them one by one to make beef jerky, all that beef was pulled under the guise of ’procurement’ to his cattle farm. As for the payment the cattle farm was supposed to make, it had no choice but to be thrown into the cave and left there.

Then there was money sent by Yingjun, and Accountant Xiang was having a hard time keeping the books. An inexplicable income had appeared in the cattle ranch’s books—how was he supposed to account for that?

That’s why construction projects were preferable, with much more frequent entries and exits in the accounts. It was much easier to toss this money into the company’s financial statements.

People often say, "Pride is as it cometh, and respect, as incense burneth!"

Now, Yan Fei just felt that he bumped into some nonsense tonight, and since the mood was gone, the money didn’t matter anymore.

Brother Hao laughed again, "Young man, you’re quite generous, just like I used to be... If I say that, you’ll probably accuse me of flaunting my seniority again, won’t you? What’s your name, young man?"

Yan Fei maintained his composure and identity, "Just call me Yan Fei."

"I’ve heard that the one preparing to buy the hotel is from the Guo family of Hong Kong, aren’t you...?" Brother Hao probed tentatively.

"Just a client relationship," Yan Fei explained. "I raise cattle in Wan City, and Miss Guo’s restaurants all buy beef from me. We’ve become friends over the course of business transactions, and this trip is just for fun."

"I see!" Brother Hao responded without betraying any emotion, though he had just thought this guy was a potential high-flying son-in-law selected by the Guo family!

Brother Hao then turned to one of his men, gesturing slightly. Only after the man left did he ask with a smile, "Is this your first time visiting us, young man? How did you know how many people were in my backyard?"

He was genuinely curious. How could this young man know so much about his home?

Considering things even he wasn’t entirely aware of were known to outsiders, how could he sleep peacefully at night without getting a clear answer? With the enemies he’d made over his years in society, would he have bothered arranging for so many people both inside and outside the yard if it wasn’t necessary?

Yan Fei didn’t hide it from him, "I heard it. Alive things have to breathe, right? Your yard isn’t big; I knew once I stepped in."

Not only Brother Hao was stunned, but the reactions of the others in the room were quite something too—the burly man’s footsteps momentarily faltered.

"What a rare talent!" Brother Hao came to his senses and praised before he couldn’t resist asking, "Is your hearing innate, or...?"

"Some of it is natural, and some I developed through practicing Kung Fu since I was young—overall, it’s a mix of both," Yan Fei replied vaguely.

Brother Hao nodded, not making much of it. By inquiring about this, he had already crossed a line, but at least the young man had given him an answer, which was decent enough.

In the time it took for a few exchanges, the burly man came back, placing several stacks of money on the table. Brother Hao indicated, "Take your money back; there’s no need to make a trip tomorrow. I’ll have someone send you back and bring me the deposit slip. Don’t decline; consider it one more time I’m playing the old card. Otherwise, if word got out that I, Jin Wanhao, took advantage of you, where would my face be? Please do me this favor, alright?"

Yan Fei, who usually didn’t bother with formalities, didn’t fuss. He reached out, picked up the stacks of money, and said, "Sure, it works out since we didn’t drive here, and it’d be great if you could arrange a ride for us!"

"Young man, you are straightforward!" Brother Hao praised, then, after instructing the burly man behind him about arranging the car, he turned back to Yan Fei. "Just curious. There are people here who practice martial arts, but I’ve never seen anyone that could leave my brother without the power to fight back. How did you train to such a level?"

"I trained haphazardly; even I don’t clearly understand," Yan Fei casually said.

Was he supposed to tell him that his skills came from slaughtering dinosaurs and eating dinosaur meat?

Jin Wanhao didn’t really expect an answer; his query was just a casual one.

When he stood up to see the guests off, he casually added, "Young man, you don’t seem like those rash youths. Was what you said earlier about making us all disappear for real?"

"You’re asking the wrong question," Yan Fei replied with his infuriatingly calm tone. "If everything is fine, who wants to stir up trouble? It’s much nicer to earn a living peacefully. Just recently, I was under observation by a certain department for more than half a year. Before coming here, I was finally removed from their watchlist; I have no desire to be on it again..."

That certain department’s power goes without saying. With just a mention, Brother Hao’s bravado was gone—he didn’t pursue what the young man might have done to be under that department’s scrutiny for over half a year.

He’d rather stay far away from such matters, let alone probe further. Why make trouble for himself?

Meanwhile, crouching in the corner, Jin Er felt extremely aggrieved: If only you had said earlier that you were such a person, none of this would’ve happened tonight...

Feeling wronged and fearful, he considered himself lucky for acting quickly and not remaining stubborn. Otherwise, he might have been the one ’accidentally’ falling from the building by now... dead.
