Chapter 1098: Chapter 568 Trouble Comes Knocking
"Are you all still not moving?!" Yan Fei and the others were muttering behind, and Guo Jingya, who had been walking in front, measuring the floor tiles with her steps, was dissatisfied. Looking at her slightly annoyed expression, one knew she intentionally walked ahead, having Nana tell Xu Xiaoyan and Yan Fei about the embarrassing situation she had caused, which really showed them great face.
Xu Xiaoyan giggled and hurried forward, "It’s alright, we’re good sisters! No one expected things to turn out like this. When I first arrived in the Provincial City, I even took the wrong bus direction! It’s not a big deal!"
This girl had a way with comforting people; soon, she made Guo Jingya stop worrying about it. She even decided not to demand the deposit back, planning to go have fun with Yan Fei instead.
But Miss Xu Xiaoyan didn’t want to let it go that easily, "Why should we let that person take advantage of us? It might not be a lot of money, but we can’t just give it away. We should have Yan Xiaofei go and demand it back..."
Seeing Guo Jingya look back, Yan Fei, who was walking behind, nodded noncommittally.
To say these people didn’t care about the deposit of several thousand was one thing, but to let the matter go unresolved would be too favorable to that unscrupulous boss. Now that Xu Xiaoyan had spoken up, Yan Fei didn’t mind making a trip—he always loved dealing with rulebreakers, as sorting them out was incredibly easy.
Evening in the city was far more worth watching than daytime, at least the dust wasn’t visible. The lights on stacked towering buildings, the colorful neon lights in front of the shops lined on the streets, and the orderly street lamps reflected on each other’s glow.
With the cool breeze, the commotion and heat of the day were gone, replaced by a quiet, chilly ambiance, making the walk feel shorter.
Soon, Yan Fei and Xu Xiaoyan spotted the hotel Guo Jingya had chosen, boasting a truly great location; the night market around it was particularly lively. Yet, inside the hotel, it was not quite as bustling.
There were quite a few people, as one could see from the lobby. Almost every table had someone, old, young, male, female, all sorts of people. From the outside, it seemed like a good crowd.
But a closer look made it quite entertaining.
People were idling by in groups of two or three per table, chatting and drinking free tea, looking relaxed and content. Yet, there was only one dish on each table—the cheapest kind of cold dish.
Looking at them, no one even touched the dish; everyone just drank tea and chatted, with an attitude of, "I’m not leaving unless you close," Yan Fei and Xu Xiaoyan realized that the world was indeed full of such ’talents’—the ones who came up with this method to annoy people deserved to be called "talents."
You run a hotel and do business; we come to eat, which is quite natural.
The person who devised this trick seized on a loophole in the hotel management—there’s no minimum charge stated!
With the current situation, even if the boss called the police, it was unclear how to handle it—mediation would probably be the most they’d do, as no one was breaking the law or causing disorder on site.
These people did spend money and the hotel had not specified how long we should take to finish the dish—have you ever seen any restaurant that dictates how long you have to eat your ordered food?
So they arrived early, grabbed a table, ordered that dish, and stayed seated until closing.
To run a hotel in the bustling area of this big city costs a fortune daily, just relying on this table with one cold dish, you might not even earn back the day’s expenses in a month.
Now, even if other guests came in, seeing this very weird atmosphere, who wouldn’t think it’s better to avoid trouble by simply eating elsewhere? Does it make sense to stay in a place that obviously has potential trouble brewing?
The person who managed to run a hotel here must have had some capabilities in the past. Seeing the current hotel boss at a loss showed that the person who created this situation had significant clout, at least more than the boss himself.
Guo Jingya was also unlucky—she arrived to find such a hotel, thinking it was a stroke of luck, only to find it was misfortune coming, which was utterly depressing.
Xu Xiaoyan and Yan Fei, having understood the situation, quickly decided to head back to their hotel—staying here any longer would leave The Sixth Miss Guo with no place to save face, not to mention her face had already turned red as a ripe apple!
Yan Fei thought this young lady had great attitude. After creating such a situation, she still satisfied his and his wife’s curiosity, bringing them along to see the conditions here. He then said smilingly, "It’s fine, everyone has bad luck sometimes. It’s really not a big deal. Tomorrow, let Xiao Hao take me to this boss, and we’ll get our deposit back, then we can go find some fun places to play..."
"Yeah!" Guo Jingya nodded, excited at the idea. "We can’t go to Hawaii now, so why don’t we go back to Hong Kong and find a boat for a sea outing?"
Upon hearing this, Xu Xiaoyan immediately showed a longing face for a sea journey, nodding repeatedly, "Yes, that sounds great!"
So, Boss Yan felt a bit guilty again, pausing for a moment, and ’glanced’ at his dinosaur world under the sparkling stars, where in the shimmering sea, dark shadows lunged, creating giant waves...
However, the group hadn’t expected that just stopping outside the hotel for a while would bring trouble their way, truly not giving a moment’s peace.
