Chapter 1032: Chapter 543 Rowing without Oars

"This child really hasn’t had it easy, being so silly and dazed since childhood. Now that he has finally managed to build up a bit of a family business, this flood, those greenhouses over there, might as well be written off!" On the stockade wall, an old man, stroking his beard, was feeling sentimental as he looked at the greenhouses across the big river to the west.

"Not easy?" A young man beside him objected upon hearing this. "What’s the big deal about that little stuff? Do you guys know what kind of truck Boss Yan drives? I’m not bragging to you, but even a scratch on that truck would cost a tractor to fix."

"What do you know, kid? ’A house may be worth its weight in gold.’ Get it?" An experienced elder immediately started to lecture. "Not to mention these are things that can earn money, but even those old tables and chairs at your home that you don’t need, would you bear to chop them up for firewood?"

The young man was just making a casual comment, but once these old men took him to task, he immediately fell silent — didn’t he see that so many people around weren’t picking up what these old men were putting down?

It’s rare to see such old men with goat beards around Sancha River Town; there were probably only a few of them. Yan Fei used to sneak over and peek at one of them who lived not far east of their blacksmith shop. He was curious if having a beard was bothersome when eating or washing one’s face.

It turned out, it was somewhat of a hinderance. That old man had to carefully wash his beard when he washed his face in the morning. For Yan Fei, who just slapped some water on his face and rubbed it around with his hand, such a troublesome practice of washing meant he would never grow a beard...

Speaking of washing faces, Yan Fei was often punished by his grandfather for it. To him, washing his face was just that, focusing solely on his cheeks and not even bothering with behind his ears.

Back then, in the summer, naughty children would frolic in the water every day, but few took baths in the winter. Not many went to the bathhouse once a week, and going once a month was considered diligent. Some people would only bathe once the whole winter, during the New Year festivities. So the dirt on the children’s bodies was visible to the naked eye. With the way Yan Fei washed, if it weren’t for his grandfather being quite diligent, probably by winter, the area in front of and behind his ears would be black...

But now, he could freely soak in the small pond on Vegetable Garden Island whenever he wished. Bathing was purely a psychological need for him now; after all, he could "Seventy-two changes" at any time, and after transforming, he was spotless — if he had known he had this ability when he was little, how many beatings could he have avoided!

After getting dressed, Yan Fei looked at the now-empty greenhouse and chuckled to himself.

Unlike what others thought, his sitting in a tree waiting for the water to rise wasn’t due to embarrassment or misery. He was waiting for the water to rise so he could move everything from the greenhouse to the dinosaur world, not daring to act earlier in case someone came to look.

The saying ’A house may be worth its weight in gold’ really is true. One cherishes their own possessions the most. Although the contents of the greenhouse meant very little to him now, being no more than a drop in the bucket, he couldn’t bear to let the flood just sweep them away.

Now, he could do things that shouldn’t be seen.

The water finally rose, already reaching his ankles, and the two Golden Eagles no longer touched the ground. The tiger, the blind bear, and the Sable and others began to howl, urging him to quickly lead them to dry land — animals are especially sensitive to natural disasters, and even with an owner, they couldn’t change their deep-rooted fear.

"Alright, alright! Let’s go, move out!" Yan Fei finished preparing, jumped onto the wooden boat, and called the animals over. "Down you go, down you go, Tiger Da, get down from there!"

The boat was not small, but it certainly couldn’t hold three tigers and two blind bears — the tigress from the zoo finally got what she wished for, returning to the zoo pregnant with Tiger Da’s offspring after a few encounters with him. However, the paperwork the zoo director promised still hadn’t arrived.

In the interest of fairness, Yan Fei allowed a few little Sables onto the boat and drove the rest down. The forlorn animals clung to the wooden boat, but he remained unmoved.

All these animals were adept in the water; tigers were natural swimmers and black bears could catch fish in the river. Who would believe they couldn’t swim?

The current was too strong; the wooden boat couldn’t reach the center of the water but could only drift downstream along the shore where the water was shallow. Now the water level was even with the bridge, so there was no worry about the wooden boat being swept away when passing under it.

People on the stockade wall were watching, shouting as they saw Yan Fei moving, "Look, look, Boss Yan is coming out!"

As if it were some event of great significance.

Several onlookers began heading toward the bridge, eager to have a look at Boss Yan.

Yan Fei stood at the bow, with the tigers and blind bears clinging to the boat, making it as stable as Mount Tai.

"That’s awesome, this is what you call rowing without oars!" a mischievous young man shouted out.

"Hahaha..." those who heard it burst into laughter.

Everyone knew the saying: rowing without oars, all thanks to the waves!

"What are you laughing at?" someone else interjected. "Didn’t you see the tigers and the blind bear clinging to the back of Boss Yan’s boat? He doesn’t need oars or waves, he’s got tigers pushing him along..."

"Look at the tigers..." A number of naughty children on holiday, yelling excitedly, began to dash toward the bridge.

Worried adults and others just looking for amusement followed suit, with a fair portion of the crowd quickly heading towards the bridge.
