Carlotta's Daily Report -
Chapter 97: Joining
Chapter 97: Joining
The staff at the Adventurers’ Association didn’t expect anyone to register in such a manner. Despite the crowded setting, it felt spacious in front of these two individuals.
The staff changed at them and said, "Names, ages, primary rune..."
Recently, due to Sky Island, hundreds of people have been registered as adventurers. The staff were extremely familiar with the process and immediately brought out the forms.
Carlotta and Amelia were currently wearing Illusion Masks and naturally gave false names. After all, the Adventurers’ Association couldn’t confirm identities, and the adventurer status was indeed very free.
As for their abilities, Carlotta claimed card magic, and Amelia claimed elven knight Path. They couldn’t possibly reveal their most proficient methods.
The identity registration didn’t take long to complete.
Then the staff regularly asked, "Will you be acting as free adventurers or as part of an adventure team?"
She explained that if they acted as an adventure team, any rewards from the association’s commissions would go to the team leader, and the distribution would be an internal matter.
After discussing, Carlotta and Amelia decided to form an adventure team, a team of just the two of them.
This adventure team was called the Moonlight Adventure Team!
Forming an adventure team only required filling out a form and leaving a record at the Adventurers’ Association. Soon after, they left the registration counter.
With four burly pirates clearing the way, Carlotta and Amelia arrived in front of the mission bulletin board.
Around the bulletin board, many association staff were maintaining orders, recording adventurers or teams accepting commissions.
On the bulletin board, many missions were displayed.
Collect Water Glow Grass, 1 contribution point per plant.
Pick Red Cap Flowers, 2 contribution points per plant.
Collect monster corpses, contribution points based on their rank and parts.
...
Commissions at the Adventurers’ Association were settled with contribution points, which could be exchanged for various items in the association. Common items included Fiel, as well as various alchemy tools, potions, knight skills, magic, and even real estate.
Some commissions, like collection tasks, were usually long-term, allowing many adventurers or teams to undertake them together.
Other commissions, once accepted by someone, couldn’t be taken by others until the deadline, to avoid unnecessary competition.
Looking at the numerous commissions on the bulletin board, Amelia felt overwhelmed and couldn’t help saying, "I don’t even know which commission to take."
"It’s okay, take a photo first, and we’ll think about it later."
Carlotta took out a camera card and snapped a photo of the bulletin board in front of her.
She wasn’t in a hurry to accept any commissions. After taking the photo, she led Amelia out of the Adventurers’ Association.
Not far from the Adventurers’ Association is a park with lush trees and a blue lake.
They walked over, found a bench, and sat down side by side, then looked at the photo.
"Some collection commissions, we might be able to provide directly."
Carlotta made a discovery.
They had traveled south along the Starlight Sea, dealing with hundreds of pirates along the way. The pirates’ wealth now belongs to them, mostly stored in Amelia’s Ten Heart Pearl.
For example, the Water Glow Grass needed for a commission, Amelia had a box of it.
This plant glows automatically underwater and has some alchemical value, required in many alchemical recipes. Fortunately, its yield is high, found in many places underwater, and people collect it once discovered.
Amelia immediately placed her hand on the Ten Heart Pearl, sensing its contents, and quickly calculated.
"That box of Water Glow Grass has about a thousand plants, which can be exchanged for a thousand contribution points... I wonder how many contribution points are needed for a Sky Island spot."
After learning about the Adventurers’ Association’s contribution point system, Amelia suspects that a Sky Island spot might require contribution points.
Of course, the specifics hadn’t been announced by the Adventurers’ Association yet.
Carlotta said, "Anyway, we can convert what we can into contribution points. These things are useless to us. As for contribution points, they can be exchanged for many things. Even if we don’t exchange them for a Sky Island spot, exchanging for other things isn’t a loss."
Amelia nodded.
They quickly went through the commissions and tallied up those they could immediately deliver, finding they could earn about thirty thousand contribution points. These points could be exchanged for about one hundred and fifty thousand Fiels, a considerable fortune for apprentices.
After tallying, Carlotta and Amelia returned to the Moonlight ship, pretending to transport supplies from the ship. They dare not casually reveal their possession of spatial items.
Carlotta’s storage cards were already valuable. Amelia’s Ten Heart Pearl was priceless!
Now, Pine Town had people from all over, a mixed bag with unpredictable intentions. Once they knew they had spatial items, trouble would inevitably arise.
However, transporting boxes of items to the Adventurers’ Association wasn’t easy, so Carlotta simply made a card.
After becoming a seventh-tier apprentice, she could make some new cards, one of which was called the Carriage Card.
This card can summon a carriage. The horses weren’t real but mechanical, paired with a modest-sized carriage.
Actually, the type of carriage summoned by the Carriage Card varied greatly depending on the production process and materials used.
To avoid attracting attention, Carlotta made a standard version this time.
In fact, Amelia’s Ten Heart Pearl contains a top-tier alchemical carriage. When they traveled from the imperial capital, Kestholm, to the Duchy of Francis, they rode in that carriage. But it was too ostentatious and would definitely attract attention if released, so it wasn’t suitable to use.
Making a Carriage Card didn’t take Carlotta too long. After completing it, she came ashore, found a spacious spot, and after inputting magic into the card, a beam of light shot out from the card, landed on the ground and turned into an ordinary carriage.
Watching this, Amelia couldn’t help saying, "Carlotta, I always feel like you make cards so easily. What’s your current success rate in making cards?"
Hearing Amelia ask this question, Carlotta smiled and said, "Maybe I’m just lucky. My current success rate is 100%."
Amelia’s eyes brightened instantly.
A card-making success rate of 100%?
She had never even heard of such a probability. How could someone possess such an unbelievable success rate? Based on the information she knew, the highest success rate among card magic practitioners shouldn’t exceed 70%.
After the initial shock, Amelia realized she might have underestimated Carlotta’s talent in card magic.
Because Carlotta had always shown an astonishing understanding of the elven knight path, Amelia had subconsciously thought that Carlotta was just particularly suited to the elven knight path and had a natural talent for them.
But was it possible that Carlotta wasn’t just talented in elven knight Path, but in everything she practiced, making her a true prodigy?
Amelia’s gaze at Carlotta became somewhat strange.
Carlotta, feeling a bit uncomfortable under Amelia’s stare, couldn’t help but ask, "Is a 100% success rate really that rare?"
Amelia didn’t know how to respond. Was this even a question of rarity?
After a moment of silence, Amelia said, "Keep it up, Carlotta. I believe that one day, you’ll take card magic to new heights."
"I’ll do my best," Carlotta nodded.
Next, the two entered the carriage. Under the cover of the carriage, Amelia also took out the materials needed for the commission from the Ten-Heart Pearl.
Water Glow Grass, Red Cap Flower, Tiger Skin Stone, Rainbow Crystal, Fire Gull Feather...
After all the materials were taken out, the carriage drove back into Pine Town, heading toward the Adventurers’ Association.
This time, Carlotta brought eight pirates to clear the way, and the journey went smoothly. After entering the Adventurers’ Association, they completed the commission handover without much trouble, earning 30, 246 contribution points.
While receiving the contribution points, Carlotta asked the staff member handling the handover, "Just tell me directly, how many contribution points are needed to buy a spot in Sky Island?"
The staff member could only helplessly say they didn’t know.
Carlotta didn’t press further. Such a question might need to be asked to someone with higher status. Her question was just to increase the probability of obtaining relevant information.
Every situation she encounters could become a source of information for her. The deeper the interaction, the higher the probability of obtaining information. So, to get information on a specific topic, it was best to increase interactions in that area.
Thus, Carlotta arranged for people to inquire about the information related to the commissions on the bulletin board.
For example, for information on slaying a certain monster, she had people ask where the monster was and what its habits were.
She also needed information on these commissions.
Since the inquiries were all done by the pirates, she didn’t need to put in much effort to gather information, but this increased her interactions.
She spent the entire day doing this, having the pirates inquire about the information for all the commissions still on the bulletin board.
Her actions didn’t seem strange. Others simply thought she was gathering information, and even Amelia didn’t find anything unusual.
This continued until another early morning arrived.
