Chapter 98: Chapter 110: Out of Control Kiss (3)
He didn’t want her to remember who he was, but six years ago, she provoked him first. So shouldn’t he be the one to be submissive and remind her of their past events?
After all, the deepest wounds in this world aren’t betrayal or dislike, but rather, when your once-frozen heart is touched only to face their back as they walk away.
He was a proud person too, so how could he ask her why she didn’t recognize him?
Once she said she liked him, but in the end, she forgot him. Was that just a whim during her youth?
This was a question that he couldn’t find an answer to.
Percy Stanton leaned quietly against the smooth, clean kitchen wall, his intricate eyes filled with tangled emotions slowly closed.
Isabel Smith, you barged into my heart so wilfully and unreasonably back then, catching me off guard with no time to defend myself. Now, you’ve slipped into my heart and left me alone, guarding those beautiful memories all by myself. What do you think I should do? How should I handle you?
Thinking about this, a faint bitter smile appeared on Percy’s impeccable face. As if sensing the bitterness in his heart, his mouth tasted a hint of bitterness. He reached out for a cigarette, only to find that the case was left in the study room. Ultimately, he lowered his hand and looked at the blue sky outside the kitchen window with a sense of powerlessness.
However, the feelings that arose in him because of kissing her had become even more intense.
Intense... something he couldn’t suppress.
In the end, Percy couldn’t stand it any longer and went to the restroom.
It took more than half an hour before he came out, took a bath, changed into fresh clothes, picked up the documents about Smith Corporation that he threw on the tea table earlier, and walked out of the bedroom.
Percy went to the kitchen first, made two cups of coffee, and tucked the documents under his arm. He held a cup of coffee in each hand and headed towards Raymond Thompson’s game room.
The game room door was half-open, and even before getting close, Percy could hear the laughter of Raymond and Isabel coming from inside. He gently kicked open the door and immediately saw Isabel and Raymond building a castle on the crawling mat, using colorful building blocks.
The colored blocks were scattered all around them, making it somewhat difficult for people to walk.
Raymond was the first to notice Percy entering the room. Without getting up, he held a blue square building block in his hand, tilted his head, and shouted, "Father."
Upon hearing Raymond’s voice, Isabel turned her head and saw Percy standing behind her. She quickly sat up and, thinking of the kiss in the kitchen earlier, felt a little embarrassed, but her face remained calm and polite as she addressed him, "Mr. Stanton."
Percy nodded at Raymond before turning his gaze to Isabel.
Feeling somewhat uncomfortable, Isabel quietly turned her head away.
Raymond was unaware of what had happened between the two adults. He continued building with the blocks and explained to Percy, "Father, I asked Sister Isabel to help me with my homework."
"Mm," Percy responded without any objection, instead handing his cup of coffee to Isabel.
In front of Raymond, Isabel was mindful of her emotions and naturally took the coffee from Percy’s hand. She even thanked him, "Mr. Stanton, thank you."
With one hand holding the documents, and the other leisurely holding the remaining cup of coffee, Percy took a slow sip and raised his eyelid to glance at Isabel. "Miss Smith, don’t mention it."
