Chapter 635: Chapter 637: I Was Just Kidding
Chu Feng heard Cui Jingyan’s words and immediately said with ’utmost seriousness,’ "Sister Yan, experiments and training should not be confused with each other. Science is rigorous, and your approach is extremely irresponsible."
When Cui Jingyan heard Chu Feng’s comment, she couldn’t help but ’giggle’ and said, "If you could be even more shameless, I believe you could definitely break the Guinness World Record for shamelessness."
Chu Feng said, "It’s lonely at the top, I don’t wish to break records. Facing challenges from all over the world is not something I look forward to. As long as I know that I can be stronger, that’s good enough for me, no need to show off every day."
Cui Jingyan glared at Chu Feng and said, "It seems you’re getting offended for being called fat. Alright, scram. I’ve got a pile of stuff to take care of waiting for me."
Chu Feng said, "Sister Yan, we may be busy, yes, but we must always prioritize safety. No matter what happens, safety comes first. I’ll ask Little Black and Xiao Bai to temporarily cease their personal business and focus all their attention on company matters."
Cui Jingyan said, "Don’t worry. Little Black and Xiao Bai have already stopped their personal business and are now fully focused on our side."
Chu Feng nodded and said, "Money is endless, but life is only once, safety above all else regardless of the situation."
Cui Jingyan said, "Alright, I got it. Like a nagging old lady. You take care too. You are the real backbone of Fengjing Group; your safety is the most important."
Chu Feng, looking at Cui Jingyan’s slender legs crossed under the table, felt an evil fire coursing through him and said, "We’ve got plenty of time, why don’t we try an experiment first, before I head to school. I’ll personally demonstrate that experimenting and training do not conflict."
Cui Jingyan glared fiercely at Chu Feng and said, "You never act proper day by day. This is an office. And just because you have time doesn’t mean I do. Hurry off to school and be the good student."
Half-pushing, half-pulling, Cui Jingyan escorted Chu Feng out of the room as he also prepared to return to school for his afternoon classes.
However, attending class had become increasingly unrealistic for Chu Feng since the announcement of the Holy Stele plan.
No sooner had Chu Feng reached the lobby on the first floor than he saw an Eastern man, clad in Samurai Clothes, with closed eyes, completely indifferent to the pointing and discussing of others around him in the middle of the hall.
Chu Feng originally had no intention of engaging with him, but when he passed by, the man opened his eyes and looked at Chu Feng, making it awkward for Chu Feng to pretend otherwise.
After all, the man’s gaze was fixed on his eyes.
Although this was somewhat strange, for someone like Martial God, it wasn’t a difficult task.
"Are you Chu Feng?" The instant they passed by each other, Martial God suddenly spoke.
Chu Feng stopped and replied, "Since you already know, is there any point in asking?"
Martial God said, "I just wanted to make sure. After all, Huaxia has an abundance of talents, and it’s not strange to mistake one person for another."
Hearing this, Chu Feng grinned and said, "Just for that remark, I like you. Tell me, what do you want with me?"
Changing tact, Chu Feng said, "But let’s set things straight first: if you’re inviting me to a meal, I have class this afternoon and no time for that. As for fighting and brawling, I’m even less interested—I’m thinking of becoming a peace-loving person. If there’s anything else, depending on the timing, I might be able to talk with you about it."
Martial God said, "I’ve already asked for leave on your behalf for today’s classes, so we have all afternoon."
Upon hearing this, Chu Feng angrily retorted, "Who gave you the right to ask for leave on my behalf? Do you know that this afternoon’s subject is my favorite? And do you realize I have used up all my leaves for this term, and if the teacher takes roll call, I’ll be in deep trouble?"
Martial God calmly responded, "I have left someone to attend to the roll call for you."
Chu Feng’s expression softened slightly, hearing that Martial God had made such thorough arrangements.
However, Chu Feng quickly thought of something and asked, "Is the person you arranged to match my dashing appearance?"
Martial God shook his head, "No, but how many teachers do you think can remember what you look like?"
Chu Feng seriously considered the classes he was missing and realized that indeed he had skipped many. Not only was it questionable whether teachers would recognize him, but he wasn’t even sure who the teachers were.
So Martial God’s arrangement was actually not problematic.
"Hang on, there’s still an issue. I’m Huaxia, and the person you got is Eastern—do you think the teacher is a fool?" Chu Feng suddenly raised a very serious concern.
Martial God replied, "Rest assured, I’ve hired someone. They’re a student from your school, there won’t be any slip-ups."
Chu Feng grew even more anxious upon hearing this and said, "At your age, to still believe in such things... They took the money and won’t actually go to the classroom. I better go myself."
Martial God, with a shake of the head, said, "The trustworthiness of Huaxia people is indeed an issue."
Chu Feng replied, "I don’t like what you just said. How is the trustworthiness of us Huaxia people an issue? We are the land of etiquette. And our government, at least, doesn’t lie to us, and certainly doesn’t alter history."
Martial God looked at the incensed Chu Feng and asked, "Don’t want to talk about trust now?"
Chu Feng gritted his teeth and said, "Fine, old man, you’ve got me this time. Knowing I’m a ’hot-blooded youth,’ I can’t stand this kind of provocation. Let’s find a place and talk about why you’re here, shall we?"
Martial God glanced at a nearby resting area and suggested, "That spot seems quite suitable; for us, it could be a palace anywhere!"
Chu Feng retorted, "Your realm is high, venerable sir, but I lack the ability to daydream so fancifully. To me, a mountain is a mountain, water is water. I can’t imagine something illusory as a palace."
Upon hearing Chu Feng’s words, Martial God mulled it over and said, "Truly, a hero from the younger generation, even beyond my realm."
Chu Feng, frustrated, responded, "How do you figure that I’m beyond your realm? Is it from seeing a mountain as a mountain, water as water? Let me tell you, that’s from some crap a guy named Mu Yu wrote in a novel. It’s just baloney to trick people in fiction. Uncle, you don’t actually believe that, do you? Couldn’t you act a bit more mature?"
Martial God was utterly defeated by Chu Feng. Any semblance of enlightenment he had was gone.
And moreover, he couldn’t seek compensation from Chu Feng—who hadn’t actually said or done anything wrong.
