Fatty Tang hadn’t expected Chu Feng to see through them and, with a flushed old face, he said, "Brother Chu, this really wasn’t intended to be a deception. I only just received a message that someone wants to target me, monopolizing the supply chain in the north of Huaxia. Bringing them along is just a precaution."

Seeing Chu Feng’s displeasure, Fatty Tang hurriedly said, "Brother Chu, I swear on all my properties, I really only received the news yesterday, and the accuracy of the information has yet to be confirmed. I brought two people just to be prepared for any eventuality."

Seeing that Chu Feng still showed no response, Fatty Tang hastily produced a cheque and said, "Brother Chu, I know I was wrong about this matter. That’s why I’ve specifically prepared some extra compensation for your troubles."

Chu Feng took the cheque and glanced at it, saying, "President Tang, I hope this is the last thing you conceal from me."

Seeing Chu Feng’s tone soften, Fatty Tang quickly assured him, saying, "Rest assured, Brother Chu, this is absolutely the last thing. If there’s anything else, I’ll twist off my head and use it as your chamber pot."

Chu Feng said, "Such a fat chamber pot might give me nightmares after using it."

Fatty Tang chuckled along and said, "Then Brother Chu, shall we set off?"

Chu Feng gave the cheque to Cui Jingyan and said, "Sister Yan, please take care of things at home while I’m away."

Cui Jingyan, looking somewhat worried, said, "Chu Feng, be careful out there, and make sure you come back safe."

Chu Feng smiled and nodded, saying, "Don’t worry, Sister Yan, I promise I’ll come back safe."

There was no airport in Yunxi, so Chu Feng and the others could only fly from East River to Yunshuang, then take a car from Yunshuang to Yunxi.

Since it was Chu Feng’s first time traveling this far, he was very curious about everything after arriving in Yunshuang.

Fatty Tang smiled at Chu Feng and said, "Brother Chu, is this your first time in Yunshuang? If you like, we can play around here for a couple of days before moving on. The girls here in Yunshuang are extremely fresh. Want me to arrange a couple of ladies to help you relax first?"

Chu Feng’s expression turned cold and he said, "President Tang, you were the one who said we should go early and return early. Why are you not in a hurry now, or is there something else you’re keeping from me?"

Fatty Tang said, "What are you talking about, Brother Chu? I’ve already said, there’s nothing I’m hiding from you. If you want to leave now, we’ll leave now. I’ll have someone prepare the car and we can hit the road after lunch."

When associating with an oily old timer like Fatty Tang, someone whose depths were unknown, Chu Feng had to be cautious.

Suddenly a crisp gunshot rang out from the forest, followed by the windshield nearly shattering but still stubbornly holding up.

"Damn it, someone indeed wants to take down Laozi!" Fatty Tang cursed.

After the glass did not break with one shot, two consecutive gunshots burst the tires.

Under these road conditions, a burst tire meant the car was essentially done for.

The darker-skinned bodyguard Little Black, who was driving in front, calmly spoke, and then pulled a weapon from behind his waist.

"Brother Chu, I am truly sorry for dragging you into this mess!" Fatty Tang bowed his hands to Chu Feng and said, "To express my apologies, I’ll increase your commission to thirty percent this time."

Chu Feng let out a cold laugh and said, "Let’s talk about that when we manage to get out of here alive; there are already quite a few people sneaking up on us."

With senses far surpassing those of an ordinary person, Chu Feng naturally could hear the sounds of people approaching.

Xiao Bai, upon hearing Chu Feng’s words, looked at him in surprise.

Even though Xiao Bai had not heard anyone approaching, his experience told him there definitely would be, with the sniper above merely serving to suppress them.

Upon hearing Chu Feng’s words, Fatty Tang went pale. With only two men, they were already struggling to deal with a sniper; if more people approached, they’d have no chance of escape.

Suddenly, Xiao Bai fired his gun. The bullet whistled through the air, striking and instantly killing an armed local who had crawled out of the woods, ready to shoot.

Fatty Tang could now also hear the rustling footsteps from within the woods, and the sound alone indicated a substantial number. There were at least twenty or more.

Twenty armed individuals meant that even if he and Little Black could kill one unarmed, there would still be some who slipped through the net. And with a sniper holding the high ground, there was no way each of their shots could take down a person.

"I’ll deal with the people in the woods, can you two take care of that sniper?" Chu Feng suddenly said to Xiao Bai.

Chu Feng said, "Good! Leave the sniper to you guys; I’ll take care of the rest."
